My contacts in BKK, Jomtien, Samui, and Phuket have received at least one jab. One contact in Issan is well connected and has received two jabs. Others in Issan, Chiang Rai, and Chiang Mai have received nothing and don't know how to go about getting the vaccine. That's consistent with ET's hypothesis that things may be different in the outlying provinces.

You are correct but let's be clear this is not a decision Thailand can make. These decisions are being made by AstraZeneca. Why "donate" the vaccine? Thailand has plenty of money to buy those vaccines themselves. Thailand is also manufacturing vaccine in Thailand, but from what I understand they are selling most of that outside of Thailand for a profit rather than administering it to Thais.

The US has already donated 1. 5 million doses of the Pfizer vaccine to Thailand, with the Thai government pledging to administer 700,000 doses to every frontline healthcare worker in the country.
