Who said anything about things being fine? The way this Pandemic developed and this virus behaves, as long as a significant percentage of people in a country or the world is not vaccinated, for whatever reason, things will not be fine.

Being vaccinated only greatly reduces the chance of you getting seriously ill enough to require hospitalization or die. With the new Variants, being vaccinated appears to only somewhat prevent you from still being infected and testing positive for Covid while it appears to do little or nothing to prevent you from being a carrier to the unvaccinated.

Moreover, it is the unvaccinated (by choice or circumstances beyond their control) who are providing host bodies for the virus to replicate and mutate into variants that very well might evade the protections of all current vaccines.

Consequently, it is prudent for Thailand to see to it that a much greater percentage of its residents be vaccinated, at least among those who routinely interact with the public, so as not to produce a never ending cycle of infection mutations.

The borders are open. You are not banned or forbidden to enter Thailand even if your place of residence is Florida. Do what is necessary to arrive here and enjoy.

Masks are still required in public, although not much once you are inside a restaurant. Here in Bangkok the only P4P-related places that I know of that are closed are bars and discos. Some bars are doing what they can to pass for being a restaurant. Massage shops are open including known Happy Ending ones. I don't really know about soapies. You can still order booze in most restaurants in the lower Sukhumvit area, they'll just serve it to you in a mug or cup.

Malls and shops are open. Cinemas have not reopened in Bangkok yet.

The BMA says that 90% of Bangkok resident have received their first jab. Based on their numbers it's actually 87% with 27% having received 2 jabs. So this clearly shows the disparity between Bangkok and the rest of the country. I'm not sure if the numbers are reliable.

33.6% overall. 90% in BKK. 70%+ in sandboxes (Samui and Phuket). Don't need to go through the math to see that very little is left for other parts of Thailand.

It does make sense to vaccinate urban and tourist locations first.

Went for a walk through cowboy yesterday. I noticed the bar on the corner of soi 23 is stirring again. I won't name it but anyone around knows which bar I am referring to. Even though it is a well known gogo it operated as a "massage parlor" the last time all the gogos were shut. That might not be true in some outlying provinces where the spread and risk of infection is still very low. But talking to taxi drivers, shop workers and even the hookers in Bangkok on the topic, the only ones who have not already gotten at least that first jab or has a pending appointment for themselves or for all adult family members in the provinces are the ones who don't want to get a jab out of fear or because they believed rumors about it not helping to prevent serious illness or death.

I see vaccination clinics set up here and there every day in my travels around the city. And they are not swamped with desperate takers. AstraZeneca must be aware of this and is not going to only produce enough vaccine doses to jab Thais who might or might not bother to get a jab for months if ever.

I don't think anyone in a high infection rate area of Thailand is being denied an effective vaccine jab because someone in another country is buying them up and hogging all the doses.

That was an amazing recommendation. I have found it a bit tiring looking at sourcing talent locally. And was about to return to Phuket where it was easier to come by. You are correct but let's be clear this is not a decision Thailand can make. These decisions are being made by AstraZeneca.
