Thai soapies won't go away. Maybe move to less visible locations but its a social thing for well off Thai men. Too big of a business to just disappear. And if anything cultural norms are changing to accept sex, not hide it.

I would never touch anything off the street, ever (that's just me, others may like it). I also dislike the atmosphere of gogo bars, I don't drink and I don't smoke, I don't like loud music, I find aggressive half drunk bar girls a turnoff and those that are promising the world in the bar hardly deliver in the bedroom. It is my experience, I totally understand others may like it and good for them.

We need diversity. Having options is never a bad thing.

I must say the online scene in Bangkok has reinvigorated and excited me in just about the same way the oilies did 15 years ago. And overall the girls are prettier. Much prettier.

Are you sure the online thing isn't just one or two great experiences coloring your view? In several mongering scenes (like Singapore or KL back in the day) I had some initial luck, which fizzled out quickly.

I tried going the online route in Thailand on several occasions (FanFinFin, TF, Craigslist, Locanto, Twitter), and had some ok sessions, but never a memorable one. Meanwhile, the process is the exact opposite of fun, a time consuming hassle at best to outright depressing at worst.

Browsing heavily edited photos of girls online does nothing for me, as I prefer to go by the girl's "vibe" than specs. And even when I find the one I like, the thrill of immediate availability is not there. By the time we get to it, if we ever do, I'd rather be doing something else.

I reckon the online girls and their service is no worse than picking off the street or a brothel. However, streets or brothels are fun for me even if I end up not picking anyone.

You must be new to Thailand. Logic is absent from basically all small Thai businesses. TIT (this is Thailand).

You are dreaming if you think nana area bars will suddenly lower their prices because of fiwfans. By that logic they could also raise their prices to that of Thai brothels / soapies which charge 3500-15000 for a 90 min session. You're comparing apples to oranges. Yes both are fruit, but they are quite different. And asking girls to lower their prices by half after months of not working is never going to fly, prices will not change but you can run into trouble. Why even go out to nana and ruin your night by doing this?

New? I've lived here over two decades and speak halfway decent Thai. And yes, bar girls lower their prices by half. Alcohol prices are fixed due to high rents, but you would be surprised what girls will take especially at this stage. And no, as long as you're polite and do everything with a smile you're not going to get into trouble.

This is the most accurate quote about thailand for anyone asking questions about thailand. Its so weird from a western perspective about how small business in thailand (and SE in general) operate.

I can't help but chuckle when reading all the arguments about what prices should be and what should one say in X and Y situation.


Funny thing is, a girl I was chatting with on Tinder, who turned out to be a prostitute and asking for 5 K for ST, contacted me because she needed money for rent and things to pay. Offering 1 K ST if I would see her on that same day.

I guess the girls are the same as us, they would like to get a high price, but sometime have to accept lower because life catches up to them.

Do whatever you feel is right for your budget, stop worrying about everyone else or trying to "teach" people how they should behave.

Yes, they don't speak Spanish there so you will be OK. However, there aren't many that speak English either so learn a little Portuguese and make sure that you have some translation tools.

Haha yes, my experience's been that even very broken attempts is generally very positively received by the natives both in and out of the hobby.

Yes, yes, I am sure there is an exception or two somewhere down some dark street. But the vast majority of Thai P4P girls you and I would ever encounter are not now nor ever have been so poor that they will truly go without food, clothes, shelter, a smartphone and plenty of internet access for more than half a day unless they accept whatever act for whatever amount of baht from any customer who comes along.

If they don't get things pretty close to the way they want it and at the price they want it, they will head back to their province. It will bother them momentarily in the way a game player is bothered by losing this set. But it never ever means they or their family will go without the necessities of life and a few luxuries, parties and good times as well.

This has been the theme with every girl I've seen on this latest trip, many of them mentioned that they've either switched to some other line of work since the pandemic, with stints online catering to wealthy Thai clientele whenever they need cash. Some of them have said they prefer the new norm and don't plan on returning to the bars or soapies. I'm sure the bars and soapies will fill with new talent, but I'm less sure the quality to price ratio will improve or even remain the same.

Have spent a couple of years vacationing in east Asia now, always good to broaden my horizons a bit, especially since I like to mix in non hobby activities as well. I hear Rio and SP are quite the destinations, from other Thailand experts as well. Sounds like the P4 P scene is not quite as commercialized as Thailand, and the girls and service are something else. Colombia is also on the table but since I've got zero Spanish skills I'd wager Rio and SP are probably easier to navigate.
