In Japan (and I assume Korea) they sell shirt button and belt cameras. There are shops that specialize in these items in Akihabara and Ikebukuro. You can buy cheap ones for 200-300 USD but if you want really high quality ones (ie 4k or 8k) you're looking at 1000++ USD(?). GoPro has the new mini 11 camera but they're still significantly larger than the other possibilities I mention. GoPro's also have very poor aperture meaning they completely suck in low light. DJI Mini Action 4 could be what he's using. They are the cameras made for drones. Just checked DJI site and they're 759 USD.

From the movement when he's walking I'm guessing this is a belt camera or a mini camera attached to his belt or a front pocket. A mini DJI would still be noticeable if you were looking at the guy's crotch but would be undetectable if you are just walking around. I'm sure he's camouflaged the cam. A belt camera would be undetectable because they look like an ugly belt buckle.

I agree Banana Boi, I think it's definitely some kind of set up that's around the waist or chest. And that's true, even the latest gopro isn't going to cut it with night footage. What you mentioned with the DJI might be what it takes, but watching some of this videos, I suspect it's also a cellphone. One of my favorite haunts, although much maligned on these pages, was Bangkok Beat on Soi 7/1. It was a raucous rock and roll club and bar with sometimes decent Filipino and Thai rock bands and a bevy of slightly over the hill dames who were more than happy to accompany you for a long time night of horizontal fun for a reasonable price and no bar fine. Sometimes, just a beer or two, a quick negotiation, and it was on.

Bangkok Beat was owned by a French guy, now passed on, who got into some sort of financial difficulty and sold the establishment around 2018. It is the current location of a hotel and located directly across from the Atlas Hotel, a reputed short time place on this Soi. Only recently, I discovered this Soi 7/1 was also used as a set for some of the Hangover 2 movie. Further up at the end of the Soi is a massage place called Annies, which may be the reincarnation of the Annies in Nana Plaza. Direct across from Annies is the Green Room, a small but decent blues and rock band club and bar. Alas, no P4 P are there under general circumstances.

Bangkok Beat was great. The girls werent really over the hill, I see older dancing in Nana. Its all about the makeup.

Then there was the old Eden Club.

Annies is the same as Wood Bar for staff. I never have been in there.

Every time I see the word Beergarden I get PTSD symptoms. Years back when the thing was booze, not weed, I went there to eat a fried pig knuckle and ended up in a short time room with a girl who with booze googles looked young and fab in the dim lighting, but who rapidly turned into something out of the Excorcist, complete with grimaces as I pounded away. And in those days, I was in better shape so for the whole 2 minutes I thought I would be devoured by the demons from hell.

Had been meaning to stop by Soi 7's Beer Garden, just to see its current state, given its grimness last year. Other more important things on the to-do list, but the BG got pushed to the top after I read Stick's column this week. Didn't know what to expect. The Soi 7 corner has certainly changed, though now, you don't have to exit from the BTS in the opposite direction from Soi 7. Now, they've nicely made a connection to the old pedestrian overpass closer to Soi 7, so it's a bit easier.

Walked down the Soi, and a bit of a surprise, the BG sign still there (guess I was expecting a vacant lot). It's now just a mass of beer bars, an expanding mutation of what was there last year. A mamasan flagged me down, saying "This is the BG" (probably due to my age), and sure enough, at the far side, where the original entrance and the alter were, there it was. But like an old lady, shoved into a corner by the younger generation. Like one of my CHEAP $5 t-shirts, mistakenly washed in hot water then thrown into the dryer, shrunk from adult to child's size. Gone is the front wall, now open to the street. ONE tiny bar with a pool table in front, really indistinguishable from all the other beer bars there. One tree, the one by the old entrance has survived, but the other on the opposite side, gone. Mamasan said "cut down, for money". Sad.

Yes, the BG was old school. But once upon a time, a nice place to me to meet up with friends, have a drink and a conversation where you could hear yourselves, before heading out to Nana or Cowboy. And, for me, a nice place in an afternoon, having stopped by Soi 5's Foodland to pick up a Bangkok Post NEWSPAPER, take the shortcut (still there) to the BG, and peruse Trink's night Owl column, or the Sloane Ranger, or Sunday's page 2, with last week's / upcoming week's news, with some witty comments on each (some rather surprising for their jabs). With a bit of luck, you could catch an afternoon delight, originally a taxi to the Playboy Motel with its carport curtains, later on a SHORT walk to Soi 7/1's hotel, a mix of tourists and ST rooms on the lower floors. And last week of the month, before payday, reasonable chance of a shop girl looking to pick up some cash to tide her over until said payday. In the early evening, the BG could be packed with men drinking and FL's looking to score. Now, while I was there in the early afternoon, a couple of other mature gents stopping by, no doubt for old times sake, one over-the-hill provider, the mamasan the only staff. Still had ONE big screen TV for sports.

On just about the last hot / humid / no-breeze day, EARLY afternoon, took a stroll along Soi 23 for old times sake. 3-5 girls outside each of the MP's. One at each shop tasked as the tout, calling out "Massage" and holding up the laminated price sheet as you passed. Most looking bored and disinterested. The ORIGIANL Annies (RIP), attached to the old Rajah Hotel, Sukhumvit Soi 4, closed 5+ years ago. Fishbowl for the ladies, large free standing tubs in the rooms, along with a tiled air mattress slip-and-slide area next to the tub, and a bed, all in the room. A new Annies later opened on Sukhumvit Soi 7/1, but, IMHO, in name only. I've never been, but given the reports I've read, nothing to entice me.

Thermae is a bar in the basement of Ruamchitt Hotel. For those who know, it strongly reminded me of ACE in Kuala Lumpur. Minus the cigarette smoke and sketchy neighbourhoud, plus better quality and more girls.

Place is about 200 m2. Went there at 10 pm, it's filled to the brim with girls, standing on the sides and middle of the room. And in between you have a "river" of guys circling to pick them up, or not.

Quality vary, but pretty good overall. Some 8, average around 6. No super stunner, no old limping drug addict either.

I picked a drink (80 bahts for lemon juice), and circled around a bit. I left pretty quickly as most girls avoided eye contact. Not unexpected: from what I gathered, they seem to prefer asian guys over caucasians here. Didn't bother me as I was already spent. Onward to the next place.

Note: smell is terrible and place looks fairly old, like decaying. Prices are around 2500-3000 bahts in there.

Next place was Soi Cowboy. The vibe here is crazy. It's an alley full of bars and strip clubs blasting music. You have groups girls on both side of the alley, some dressed normally, some just in bikinis, trying to pull you to their place. Bunch of lone guys waking through, but I also spotted some caucasian couples, like tourists just checking what's going on here, or enjoying their beer and the vibe in one of the bars. Mood was festive like some crazy big party. Awesome place.

But I didn't stop by as I was just there for recon tonight.

No idea of the prices or services here, if you can pick girl or just enjoy the show while getting blown.

Best for the last: Nana Garden.

Basically an Acienda of strip clubs and bars.

There is a small square with an open bar in the middle, and all around it, a you-shape 3-floor building.

The infamous Billboard, Buterflies, and Rainbow clubs are all there.

A large balcony on each floor, making the tour of the building lets you go from club to club.

Girls in sexy in sexy undies everywhere, either pulling you in, or just taking a break and eating.

Quantity and quality of girls is insane from my pov. I'd say easily 1000 girls in the whole "garden" ? Plenty of 8-9.

Again, didn't stay on day 1, but went back the next day.

Day 2:

Wanted to bring back a girl to my hostel for the second day. I went out at around 8 pm. I remember seing some incredible girls on the street the day before, but prefered not loose to much time walking around, especially in the heat. So I headed straight for Nana Garden, and there, to Billboard.

That place is fucking incredible.

Behind the curtain hides a big room, filled to the brim with stunning chicks in bikinis. Loud music, nightclub light. On the right, a huge tub with a dozen girls or so. On the left, two spinning platforms, with at least 20 girls on each. Against the wall in the back were 3 lines of bleachers that let you enjoy the show comfortably.

As soon as you enter, a waitress will bring you to a place to sit. I ordered a Gin Tonic for 170 bahts, and looked around.

Behind me were guys throwing some stuff at the girls on the scene. Don't know what it was.

Waitress stood next to me so I asked her how this all worked: basically, all girls have a number. If you like one, you tell the waitress, which will bring you the girl. This will cost you a drink for the girl (200 bahts), and in my case, a shot for the waitress (another 200).

Made eye contact with one of the girls on the platform, which smiled back. Number 32. Not the prettiest or most sexy, but still a solid 7 for me, so I picked her. She came and sat on my lap, and we chatted for a bit in english. After a while I asked her if she wanted to come with me or stay here. She obviously answered the former.

I asked the waitress how it worked: she quoted me 4000 bahts for the girl, plus 700 bahts of bar fine, for 2 hours. I agreed and payed. The girl went away to dress up for a while, and then came back to fetch me.

Yea, none of that appeals to me at all. I gave prices and said in the same post that it was on the cheaper side of prices and the questioner might want to spend a lot more and that most people do. Everyone knows that a person with a cheap budget could spend more and get better. No one should have read my post and thought that $10 a day was the limit they could spend and nothing better was available for ten times the money.

If people want to come to thailand and live like one week millionaires that's they're business and I hope they have fun doing so. But a person doesn't have to.

What would you budget overall for a 10 day stay if you're spending $50 a day on food? And if you were asking the question would you appreciate more than one view?

$400 to 500 a day is a great budget. Think of all the great food here in Bangkok. Yum, I think I want a Katchapuri.

But with babes asking 6 K in Go Gos, maybe that's not enough.

Don't forget weed, you can drop $30 in a weed store before you know it. BTW the Nepalese kid on the corner of Soi Arab is still the cheapest (and best) in the lower Suk area.
