I understand your argument that bareback sex can be dangerous for the monger engaging in it, but what I don't understand is how his risky behavior will affect the next monger, such as yourself, for example, if you use protection? Isn't that the purpose for using a condom; to protect yourself against any STD's the girl might have contracted from other mongers? Why should you worry about or become disgusted by what other mongers are doing and the risks they are taking as long as you continue to use protection?

Conquerer Val is spot on. It is a risky hobby. Even with "protection" you are at risk for herpes and warts. Monger enough and you will contract something. You just have to ask yourself; Is it worth it? If the answer is no, then you have the wrong hobby. If the answer is yes, then be mentally prepared to have some "issues" at some point.

Nope just a quote and spot on. My friends who live in other SE Asian and East Asian nations all have local male friends. Good friends as well. In Thailand I just don't know Western guys who have really close male Thai friends. One exception being Thais that spent the majority of their lives in the West and returned. And those Thais even feel a bit alienated from the Thai males here.

It is not just a function of language. There are different things at play here.

I would agree that when you get beyond the Farang Ghetto of Lower Suk in BKK and away from the beach areas it changes. People are far more "friendly. " Do they "like" us? Perhaps a bit more. But most Thais (particularly the men) feel that the are superior to foreigners. One needs look no father than the laws regarding foreigners and immigration policies. The women are a bit better, but many of them hold the same attitude.
