It seems several go-go girls in more than one Nana Plaza go-go bar are looking to stage a somewhat mass exit from the scene. The reason? Because the bar owners and management have been pushing them to hustle ladydrinks and not to go out with a customer during their normal working hours to the point where they are seeing a drop in their monthly income.

On top of which, hustling ladydrinks all shift without at least a 1-2 hour break in there somewhere is harder work than fucking in a hotel room where incessant talking, smiling and listening to endless stories about what a great job and house some dude has back in his home country because he is so brilliant isn't required.

Right now the number of customers and girls are low due to it being midweek and many of the more financially successful girls have gone back to their province for Songkran.

But, according to some girls, customers are not returning for repeat go-go and beer bar experiences because they discovered too much of the time they are being pestered for drinks drinks drinks drinks for this one and that one while the girl they originally targeted comes up with some lame excuse for not accepting a barfine and sex session with them.

I'm a newbie here.

I'm planning a trip to Bangkok in June. Just want to ask has anyone try The PIMP club? From what I know, its like a strip club with private room for VIP guests. But no barfine, ST, LT. A whole different experience from Gogo bars. Make me curious and want to try. Appreciate if anyone can share some review about this club.

I feel that G-Clubs like The Pimp get overlooked a lot because honestly, it's not a cheap experience, especially if your only goal is to get laid, in which you're probably better off looking for freelancers or gogo bars. I've had nights where the total bill came to 100,000 baht, BUT because I was with a group of mates, we ended up paying around 20,000 baht each.

How The Pimp (and most G-Clubs) work is that they try to get you to buy a "membership", which is basically a package deal where you're committing yourself to X number of bottles of alcohol like JW Black, Chivas, etc. If you can't finish, don't worry, they will keep them for you for a year and you can go back and finish it without having to pay the membership again, so think of it like "prepayment".

Because of this system, it's usually a better idea to go with your mates because you can split the bill and get VIP rooms and that's where the girls go REALLY wild (almost everything goes, short of sex). I've sat in the main public area of The Pimp before and it's not quite as fun. The band / DJ is usually way too loud and it's hard to talk and you just end up shouting over each other. VIP rooms are where it's at and all of them have karaoke machines so you can sing if that's your kind of thing, and some have private pool tables. I think there's even one room that has its own private jacuzzi.

As to barfines, ST, and LT, that's entirely up to you. Unlike gogo bars, there's no pressure to bring the girls home with you. In fact, I think many girls choose to work at places like The Pimp because there is no expectation of sex, or at least no obligation. You CAN take girls home and I have, but it's usually too expensive to be worth it. The mamasan explained that the rates to take a girl home is entirely between you and the girl (I've seen instances where the girl quoted 10,000 baht, which was basically an indirect way of saying no), but the barfine is fixed and IIRC, it was a crazy amount like 5,000 or 6,000 baht.

While it is quite different from gogo bars, some of the concepts are carried over, like lady drinks. The girls at these G-Clubs usually get paid in "lady drinks" which aren't actual drinks (they always drink from your bottle), but their time. I can't speak for other G-Clubs but at The Pimp, they were charging around 350 baht every 30 minutes.

It can be dangerous because if you have fun, you could easily rack up 5-6 hours worth of lady drinks.

Would I recommend going to G-Clubs? If you are going with friends and are willing to spend, yes. If you're going alone, it might be tricky but if you're curious enough, why not?

What is the upside for her working for an agency if she is on commission only for LDs, gets no salary (no portion of the fee the bar pays the agency per girl?) and she has to pay 700-1000 baht if she doesn't show up?

During normal times I think the agency got paid about 1,500 baht per girl per night. I don't know about today or how much the girl got from that fee.

I would think any decent looking and behaving girl, a freelancer really, who wants to hang out at a bar and help them sell LDs on commission only would be welcome to do it any night she wants to show up. Why would she sign on with an agency that will pay her nothing and will only charge her 700-1000 baht for not showing up?
