Has anyone picked up any Arab freelancers? Is it the same as a local freelancer? I would like to check out the Arab area and try to pick up an Arab freelancer when I visit. I am a little worried because of potential religious issues. Is it easy for a non Arab person to pull this off? This will be my first time so if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated. Also I am not staying at the Grace Hotel, would this be a deal breaker for the Arab ladies?

Last time I checked (a year ago) the Arab FLs - (most of them were actually Muslim East Europeans. Kazaks, etc) - none to be found.

Also Grace Hotel and Bamboo bar (oppo Grace htl) - all were dead.

I did not take his description the way you did. I guess we need to define "the bar" in Thermae. True, as you enter the Sukhumvit side main entrance down the stairs, the small bar to which you will be directed to buy a drink is indeed behind you at that moment. But I always assumed "the bar" most of us think of in Thermae is that much larger, S-shaped structure in the middle of the room that is directly in front of you as you enter down the stairs from Sukhumvit.

Of course, that big one does not have a bartender stationed behind it to mix or pour drinks. But there are roaming servers to take your order there.

Not sure what else we would call that big S-shaped structure in the middle of the room if not a bar though.

If I may add my two cents a bar usually refers to an establishment that sells alcoholic drinks. Once inside though if somebody said to me I will meet you at the bar I would then assume it would be at the counter where the drinks are served rather than a seating area where you can order from floor staff.

As an aside with no entry fees or bar fines Thermae depends totally on selling drinks. I have always felt if their bar was in the middle of the room or at least occupied a more accessible prominent position they be more profitable.

With the utmost respect dude, that constant reference to the better looking girls being on the left side of Thermae is utter malarky.

I was in there last night (way to crowded). Its the same smattering of hotties through out. In fact, the talent has been getting better.

The only thing the left side has (as you are facing the bar) is that they are sometimes overall younger, except for the older one with the face like a gargoyle who seems to do great with the younger Asian guys. Her daughter is always with her, and she is built like like a brick s**thouse although with a younger gargoyle face. I wonder if they would do a mother daughter, hmmmm.

I tend to agree with you about the better looking girls being more sprinkled around the place, not just on the left side. The "left side lineup at Thermae" reference is mostly a shorthand term of art to descrbe a certain level of youth and looks that for several years had been more often seen on the left side.

As you say, they tend to skew younger on the left side. For many mongers, not just Asian mongers, that will automatically suggest slimmer, firmer, smoother skin, better looking girls. And that is the side where, other than the booths, there are no barstools or other places to sit or stand behind the bar as there are elsewhere where girls can perch, curl up and hide a multitude of physical "problems".

The lineup girls standing on the left side had better feel much more confident about their head-to-toe presentation not only on its own merits but how it measures up compared to other girls standing on either side of them.

I think that speaks volumes about the likelihood of the better looking girls tending to choose that side to advertise their wares. And on that point; how do we know the reason a top Thermae looker on the right side or in the middle of the bar didn't settle into that spot only because there was no room on the left side for her to stand and better categorize, position and display her superior physical qualities?

Stop worrying and in the future, if you always add plenty of water based lubrication (I like Astroglide) you won't break condoms and you won't have that problem. I make it a point to use it and I've never had a broken condom.

Once upon a time (long time ago) Beer Garden used to be great place for day time pick ups (and good food / beer too).

But last 2 visits (last 2 years) - Beer Garden was dead. More like a horror show.

Has it changed? Is the construction on the street completed. I think that was the main reason for the downfall.

I'm sorry you were disappointed Tiger. I don't know. I've been in and out of Bangkok for 35 years and I've found that the beautiful Soi 7 Beer Garden is like the ocean tides; sometimes busy and sometimes quiet. It's such a solid landmark and a world all of its own! I would think it would be "bullet proof" to almost any construction around it including the closed fish restaurants across the street. Like the Thermae, I would think it would be one of those places mongers and SW would go to, because it is there. I will be there in a few weeks to check it out for myself.
