Stayed in Bangkok for a total of three nights. I had a regular from Smooci several years ago that I booked for several 24 hour stays. Stayed at Adelphi Suites on Soi 8.

I asked her how much. She asks the boss, and the boss tells me 4000 baht for massage with happy ending. I must have laughed so hard. I asked him if I could get a taxi to go back. He then starts backtracking and asking me how much I would pay. By that point I just wanted to get the hell out of there. The place seemed way too sketchy for me.

So that's my very limited time in Bangkok. Spent most of my time in Isan. Posted my experiences there on the Isan thread.

It's always been a bit of a mystery how these Nigerians and other Africans get by in Bangkok. Now that marijuana is legal, that cuts out one drug they can sell. When you factor in the flight costs from Africa and living expenses in Bangkok, it's a mystery how and why they do it. Are some pimping for the big butt black ladies on Suk? It's been heavy 2 Songkran nights trying to find good places to drink but not come across water fights which was not that difficult given that I like off-the-map, out-of-farang-zone places. Which is where this weird youngish white dude is become increasingly recognized by staff used to mostly Thai patrons. When booking through smooci, it asks you to put your name and room number. I understand they do this to confirm you're actually in the listed hotel.

But my question is do you have to put the name you check into the hotel in? Do they ask the front desk to confirm?
