I remember the big hullabaloo over the Hong Kong flu, it was nothing like this, this is much much worse, at least the reaction to it so far. Unfortunately Dr. Anthony Fauci seems to be a much saner voice than Trump. Dr. Fauci said today that the United States deaths from coronavirus could reach 200,000 with millions of cases.

He stated that between 100 and 200 k in a worse case scenario. I much more inclined to listed to Dr. Birx. There are 2. 8 million deaths in America every year. 100 k is a little over a 2% increase. And that is worse case scenario. The HK flu killed between 1 and 1. 5 million in 68-69. There are 60% more people on the planet now. Numbers for this would have to reach 2. 5 or more to equal the percentage killed by the HK flu. I don't think we are gong to get anywhere near that. But we are going to ruin the lives of hundreds of millions of people with the measures that are being taken. If this virus was killing the young like the Spanish Flu did, I would see the cause for alarm. So will this be the response for every new "possible" pandemic? Lock things down? What freedoms will we lose this time? More that after 9/11? How will travel be restricted?

I sure hope you are right about the peak in mid-April, but that date might turn out to be a tad optimistic. No one knows for certain. In the meantime anybody who is somebody in the healthcare industry is looking & testing for a cure. Maybe Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) + Azithromycin will prove effective in the short run while we wait for a vaccine which is most likely a year or more away.

As to whether things ever get back to pre-Corona times in Thailand, sadly, that is anybody's guess. The most optimistic scenario is that Corona cases peak in mid-April like you say and by the middle of June Thailand is back in business. The girls come back and are dying for cash, the bars reopen and are desperate for customers, and the Thai Government decides to stay out of it. Meanwhile on the demand side: tourists still reeling from their respective home country's recessions do not come back in large numbers until Dec 2020/ Jan 2021 at the earliest. Under this most optimistic scenario Thailand enters a brief summer / fall renaissance for those ex-pats and early return travelers that venture forth. But who knows?

A much more pessimistic scenario goes something like this: the Pandemic does not end until a vaccine is widely distributed in mid 2021. Long before that date the world Economies fall into devastating depressions. By the time Thailand is back open for business there are relatively few takers left. In fact it might take years for the tourist numbers to return to pre-Cornona numbers. This might prove to be a great opportunity for those still flush with cash, but many bars and bordellos will go bankrupt and never return and at any time the Thai Government might decide to intervene and close down the remaining P4P tourist business once and for all. Again, no one knows what is going to happen. All I know is whoring has been around since the dawn of the human race. In one form or another it will most likely survive in Thailand after the Corona. But whether it stays in the bars & massage shops where I like it or moves elsewhere, most likely to the internet, or goes underground is anybody's guess. We will just have to wait and see.

Impossible to know, but even before the outbreak, Farang oriented P4 P in Thailand has been a pale remnant of its former self, with most of the joy sucked out, no GFE, high prices and rather unappealing women (albeit in relatively high numbers). I feel that providers are bottom-of-the-bottom of Thai society; for instance, it was very hard to find a non-skanky girl with no tattoos or those ridiculous eyebrows. Demographics are not favorable either, with average age in Thailand now being over 40.

For the last few years, I've actually had more fun (on the low end) in unlikely places like Malaysia, Laos or Hong Kong than I did in Bangkok or Pattaya. Could not agree more with all your points. The scene in Thailand has been in decline for quite some time. Of course there are new (by new I mean people who have been mongering in Thailand for less than a decade) folks around that have nothing to compare it to. And yes, I'm afraid this will be another tipping point and the biggest tipping point at that. This pandemic will change everything. It is the biggest event since WWII, and will lead to changes in every aspect of life. I don't think we will see a Roaring 20's style environment when this is over like we did at the end of WWI and the Spanish Flu. On the contrary, I think it will usher in an era of more conservative behavior. Changes for our hobby will be massive both from the provider and from customers. Working gals seeing men from all over the planet are the perfect vectors. Will we ever feel comfortable in an oily room again knowing how poorly they are cleaned? 1000% agree. Thailand's p4 p scene has mostly 5-7's now. I haven't seen a single 7+ (very subjective and it keeps changing) in gogos or in any agency. 98% in massage shops are 5 at best. But I could have compromised but cost is also high. I have 2 regular who I consider 7 and I give them 3000 for couple of hour.
