I've got exactly the same feeling.

Every ten or twenty years there's a new dangerous and contagious disease that pops up from nowhere.

Each time we got accustomed to the newest disease we're going to see a new one popping up.

First it was Aids, then Sars / Mers and now Covid19.

Visiting Bangkok / Pattaya after the virus. Haven't been in 10 years. Pricing?

Visited years ago and wasn't that impressed the girls or prices, I don't remember how much I spent on the club girls, but I think it was over $100 US.

There was a room in the back of the gogo club where we spent about 30 minutes.

I had cheaper experiences with local girls from bars that I took back to my room and paid (if I remember) about $20 US for the whole night.

Can anyone update me on current prices in Bangkok and Pattaya?

    1. In the club (some room in the back or upstairs).

    2. at your hotel.

I just watched a couple of Youtube vids and the mamason was quoting 600 Baht for takeout and another 3000 Baht for 1 shot!

Is this for real, more than Germany FKK?

I'm a multiple times a year visitor to German and Swiss FKKs so I'm familiar with those prices.

Where we are on the curve and what the shape of the curve is or will be is different for different countries. For the US the expected 100,000 to 200,000 deaths is accepted now even by dragged to the alter Trump compared to just thousands at present. This shows what's ahead. Its just beginning. Same in the UK. China, South Korea are further along the curve with a return to a semblance of normality already happening.

Thailand? . So hard to know with any certainty where we are. Have we been incredibly fortunate to have avoided high incidences of infection and deaths or is it something else. Lets hope it's the former.

In my opinion the future equilibrium of P4P will change with more on line connections and fewer punters for the foreseeable future.

Those girls that went off the grid going back home will soon start getting bored with life in the villages and small towns and slowly restrictions notwithstanding start returning to the where there might be some action. It is said there is no supply and demand pricing in the P4P world. Umm lets wait and see.

Lots of venues will change hands, get sold cheaply to operators with cash which will create a more concentrated ownership structure where possibly prices will go up. The go go segment most notably in Cowboy and Soi 6 are examples of how this was already happening.

Its interesting to see we still have science deniers about what this pandemic is all about and with what will be in time although I wouldn't be around to see it more disastrous and destructive I. E. Climate change.

    Ruining everything

Thailand has 60 road deaths / day, not counting the wounded, and they're not elderly people. Even multiplying Thai official figures by ten you don't come close to that.

Meanwhile some European countries have decided to scuttle themselves to prevent people who would have died at the age of 83 from dying at the age of 81. Note that the same countries were preparing to cripple their economies to "save the climate" anyway. Since the coronavirus doesn't thrive in humid climates, the climate savers could adopt it as their emblem.

African countries where malaria kills 300 thousand every year and other tropical diseases another 300 thousand are starting to implement lockdowns and hardening dictatorships. Picture NGOs and relief agencies rubbing their hands at the juicy new corona scams they're going to pull. Aids was getting boring. This comes at the right time.

Maybe Hydroxychloroquine (Plaquenil) + Azithromycin will prove effective in the short run while we wait for a vaccine which is most likely a year or more away.

As to whether things ever get back to pre-Corona times in Thailand, sadly, that is anybody's guess. The most optimistic scenario is that Corona cases peak in mid-April like you say and by the middle of June Thailand is back in business. The girls come back and are dying for cash, the bars reopen and are desperate for customers, and the Thai Government decides to stay out of it. Meanwhile on the demand side: tourists still reeling from their respective home country's recessions do not come back in large numbers until Dec 2020/ Jan 2021 at the earliest. Under this most optimistic scenario Thailand enters a brief summer / fall renaissance for those ex-pats and early return travelers that venture forth. But who knows?

A much more pessimistic scenario goes something like this: the Pandemic does not end until a vaccine is widely distributed in mid 2021. Long before that date the world Economies fall into devastating depressions. By the time Thailand is back open for business there are relatively few takers left. In fact it might take years for the tourist numbers to return to pre-Cornona numbers. This might prove to be a great opportunity for those still flush with cash, but many bars and bordellos will go bankrupt and never return and at any time the Thai Government might decide to intervene and close down the remaining P4P tourist business once and for all. Again, no one knows what is going to happen. All I know is whoring has been around since the dawn of the human race. In one form or another it will most likely survive in Thailand after the Corona. But whether it stays in the bars & massage shops where I like it or moves elsewhere, most likely to the internet, or goes underground is anybody's guess. We will just have to wait and see.
Pandemics don't tend to behave like your pessimistic outlook. Left alone, they tend to go up and then down. The issue with this is not the death rate, it's the need for hospital beds for which many nations are ill-prepared. My guess is internet will be the main stay. Sadly, I don't find that so interesting.

He stated that between 100 and 200 k in a worse case scenario. I much more inclined to listed to Dr. Birx. There are 2. 8 million deaths in America every year. 100 k is a little over a 2% increase. And that is worse case scenario. The HK flu killed between 1 and 1. 5 million in 68-69. There are 60% more people on the planet now. Numbers for this would have to reach 2. 5 or more to equal the percentage killed by the HK flu. I don't think we are gong to get anywhere near that. But we are going to ruin the lives of hundreds of millions of people with the measures that are being taken. If this virus was killing the young like the Spanish Flu did, I would see the cause for alarm. So will this be the response for every new "possible" pandemic? Lock things down? What freedoms will we lose this time? More that after 9/11? How will travel be restricted?

There was a time I enjoyed the soapies.

Mostly I have tried soapies in Pattaya and they're pretty bad service-wise because they mostly cater to tourists. For eg, honey 2 shop, which shows some pretty 7's sitting in front of you, smiling and all, but you can't talk to them or confirm the services. It's pretty mundane actually: bath, extremely mechanical massage (can't remember which comes first LOL), CBJ and then sex, ofcourse without kissing or BBBJ.
It was before the MRT was built so it was expensive to get to New Cleopatra from Sukhumvit. New Cleopatra was supposedly where all the Thai Penthouse models were located which was why I went. I was the only caucasian in the place.

In the early 2000's there was only one oily that was available. Barons Barber Shop maybe? I enjoyed the soapies back in the day. Chayo Phraya 2 was the one for me that had the highest mileage in terms of sex service. I even got great service at Cupidy and Mona Lisa which was where all the taxi drivers took you to get their kickback and everybody recommended avoiding.

Now I think the oilies are better. I try to find the ones popular on G Diary to get the best service.

But even today if you are caucasian and go to Thanon Thaniya street you will be ignored. Or at least that was the case eight to ten years ago.

I happened to be in Bangkok in May 2003 the day they tore down the Clinton Plaza. That was my real hang out. I would stay at the Grand President on Soi 11 and take the Go Go dancers from Clinton Plaza. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clinton_Plaza The Grace Hotel coffee shop was the after-hours spot.

I guess I need to get to Bangkok again. My brother used to live there so I would go quite often.

I apologize for reminiscing. I know it doesn't help anybody looking for current action. I am in a county that is fairly locked down this weekend.

I feel that providers are bottom-of-the-bottom of Thai society; for instance, it was very hard to find a non-skanky girl with no tattoos or those ridiculous eyebrows. Demographics are not favorable either, with average age in Thailand now being over 40.

For the last few years, I've actually had more fun (on the low end) in unlikely places like Malaysia, Laos or Hong Kong than I did in Bangkok or Pattaya. Sure, the scene is bigger in Thailand and a few specialist places like Tulip or BJ bars offer a service not available elsewhere, but there's zero excitement; most of the decent girls have been around for 10+ years, and slowly declining in looks and dwindling in numbers.

For a long time, Thailand's P4 P scene has been living on fumes of its previous reputation. Even once Covid-19 is under control, up until a vaccine is widely deployed (mid-2021 at the earliest), we're not getting back to normal. Sex workers will still be a major vector of infection. Could not agree more with all your points. The scene in Thailand has been in decline for quite some time. Of course there are new (by new I mean people who have been mongering in Thailand for less than a decade) folks around that have nothing to compare it to. And yes, I'm afraid this will be another tipping point and the biggest tipping point at that. This pandemic will change everything. It is the biggest event since WWII, and will lead to changes in every aspect of life. I don't think we will see a Roaring 20's style environment when this is over like we did at the end of WWI and the Spanish Flu. On the contrary, I think it will usher in an era of more conservative behavior. Changes for our hobby will be massive both from the provider and from customers. Working gals seeing men from all over the planet are the perfect vectors. Will we ever feel comfortable in an oily room again knowing how poorly they are cleaned? Will they even be allowed to re-open in their current form? For sure there will be a "new normal" and it will not be one that long time mongers will like.

A Change Is going to Come

Opinions on future societal changes coming from this unprecedented upheaval in the way we live and interact are fascinating. In the P4P world I feel it is likely that both providers and buyers will have discovered the benefits of finding partners on line. No doubt bars clubs oilies go gos etc will continue but when punters have through necessity now discovered that on line hook ups are available, cheaper and perhaps more satisfying why go through the expensive, lady drinks, bar fine routine to get laid. Seeing the goods will always be important but from lots of recent posts this channel when gotten used to would appear to work quite well. Hell I might even sign up to a couple of sites after I post this.

A Chinese friend who was locked in for 6 weeks, only allowed out once every 3 days to buy supplies, had to sign out and in to her building, reports that she's free to be out and about now. The Chinese stepped hard after an initial fault, and succeeded. USA faltered out of the gate, and people will suffer the consequences... Grim.

As the old folks say, "By crackee, back in my day" (90's), easy to find an attractive girl in a gogo who WANTED to go LONG time rather than several short times. You could pull her, she'd show you a Thai club, a great local place to eat, more than happy to spend the night. If things worked out, she was more than willing to repeat, just give her the bar fine, she'd go pay the bar, and off you'd go again. My go-go days long gone (Cinderella Liberty now), but from what friends say, the preference of bar girls is several short times per night. But even these days, possible to find some gems... For me, that's part of the fun, panning for gold and seeing what you find... The thrill of the hunt.

Now Annies didn't have the greatest looking girls, but, for me, soaking in a hot tub while the girl scrubbed you, then slip-in-slide on a mattress, then off to the bed for more (of course, this was back in the day where 2 shots in 90 minutes was easy for me) , was well worth the price. Only ventured out to the full soapies a couple of times and was not impressed.

If you don't message them, they change numbers in a year and I have to rebuild my harem. Obviously this becomes too much work during the few days of holidays when I am Thailand.

How do guys manage to stay high and dry and still have enough contacts to depend upon?
I use Line and have found a girl won't switch their Line. While they might change their mobile number, they can transfer the Line to the new number. Same with WeChat. I've learned (after numerous "forgets") to get the Line number for an excellent provider. Perhaps it's another benefit of preferring mature seasoned providers. They've built a house; they understand that requests for money are futile, so don't; and are more than willing to keep up the contact for the potential repeat business. My experience, anyway.
