Blast from the past. Strolling through Nana Plaza tonight I noticed a "new" go-go bar on the ground level far left corner by the name of Voodoo. Have I missed this announcement here or am I the first? I did a search on this thread and only one reference to that name came up from late last year when it was mentioned in a recollection from 20 years ago.

Well, I guess it is back. At least the name is back. Girl I bought a LD for said it has been open for 3 weeks already.

Anyway, I popped in at around 9:30 pm and what do ya know but 5 of the 15 girls on stage were stark raving naked except for their high heels. Highly unusual for a Nana Plaza bar. I did not stay long enough to see if the next 15 dancers at the set change would get totally naked. But about half of them went topless right away.

I would say mostly 6's and 7's on stage. Maybe a couple more doable than the rest. I noticed 2-3 LBs, but none of the naked ones were LBs.

Some bars have had 2 names. E. g. Long Gun official name was actually "Luck Star" I believe. So both names appear on the signage.

Wow, that was fast. Are you saying there is now a separate Twister BKK sign right above that particular doorway closest to the left side ground level corner of Nana Plaza near the "deli" or whatever that is back there? That is where I saw the small Voodoo sign. If so, I wonder if they were just waiting for a new Twister BKK sign to hang above that doorway and decided to use an old Voodoo sign they found laying around in a storage room until it arrived. LOL.

That go-go bar area in the back corner had previously been part of Bangkok Bunnies and, as I recall, also Twister BKK all along. But the night I went into that bar while the small Voodoo sign was up (and lighted) above that particular doorway, it appeared as though a wall had been erected to keep it separate from the main Twister BKK bar area.

For folks traveling to BKK, here is your on the ground report. I'll try to do this every month or so while I'm here. I don't have reports on pricing because I find the whole subject stupid. You pay what you can negotiate.

Lower suk is still the pits as it has been forever. The cart bars are back on side streets. The ones on soi 7 are replete with African girls, most of them fat assed monsters as preferred by the robe and turban boys, but a few cuties.

The walkway in front of the Hyatt is now lit up, moving the girls to the corner. Hookers like it dark. Mostly ladyboys, in fact, between soi 11 and Thermae, it's almost all ladyboys.

Times must be hard because there are more girls than ever on the streets. Mostly fugly.

Thermae is packed with girls, and a lot of them are lookers. You can find them on both sides of the bar. I as a fat old farang had no problem chatting any up, but I don't chat with chicks that look like anime dolls, cute as they may be.

I don't regularly do good so nothing to report.

The talent at Kasalong and Roritahs is non existent.

Soi 11 is a mess. Paced with people. If you are getting a hotel on that street, better get a room in the back so as not to hear the drunken screeching of fat British girls all over the place. It's not Newcastle on a Friday night ladies. Not my type of street. I'm glad I booked at the adelphi in soi 8, much quieter and less assholish, and thank God I move into my condo on Monday to get away from here.

Street food prices: 30 to 50% higher than in other parts of town.

New condos are going up everywhere. Buildings that were there in April are gone today. An old shitty hotel in the area just sold for 375 billion baht. Expect your fav place to be knocked down for condos in a few years. Don't think that NP is sancrosanct either, all it takes is an envelope.

They are building a skybridge near Thermae. Blocks street traffic but the ladies stand near the boxes.

The worm dude is still crawling up the sidewalk. The Chinese are still pushy and annoying.

The cops were out in force including checkpoints. My cab got waved over past soi Nana near the overpass. When the cop went to shine his light on me, the first thing he saw was the American Eagle on my passport. He waved us on. Note to my fellow Yanks. That passport gets you far more slack than other nations. Don't abuse your immunity, don't act like a dick and even though you are crawling in the gutter, at least look and act clean.

I'm told the cops were all over Asoke montri, I wasn't there though.

Mixx was hopping, but the quality was down. Some of those Russian (read Central Asian) chicks were pretty horror show but there were a few lookers.

Cabbies of course try to flat rate you. Know your distances and pricing. Sometimes you can get a gift with a flat rate. The cabbies are desperate for custom. Even the ones parked. I had one try to get me for 500 out of Mixx, by the time I was done it was a meter for 50. I usually tip drivers who cave, teaches them a lesson that fairness gets rewarded.

I don't know why someone would come twice and then ask for refund. I can understand one or two instances but if it has happened multiple times, they better look into themselves.

I won't be surprised if this shop closes soon. Their price is way more than the market rate for BJ shops, and the fact that they don't show girls but just their pics on ipad, is just ridiculous. So, IMO, everything about this is a cake walk, EXCEPT the true lesbian / DATY. Finding girls that will really chow down on each other is the hard part. Most would go along and fake it.

You are right that this is possible in Thailand, if you pay well enough and if the girls feel comfortable with you. Not so sure that I agree with the response to your adventures by another person.

It's possible to find your fantasy it's not easy but possible.

Yes, the stretch along Ratchadamnoen Ave from the old, yellow Royal Hotel across from Sanam Luang field to the Democracy Monument and the side sois in between can offer a treasure hunt worth taking for those willing to step away from all the usual comforts, standards and expectations of the tourist red light districts.

I used to live walking distance from there and sometimes delved so deeply into non farang areas there were neighborhood civilian "guards" in the street waving me back to prevent me from seeing what the music and party atmosphere was all about down there. Whatever it was, they REALLY did not want a farang who for all they know might be a crusading Christian NGO do-gooder looking to cause trouble for them seeing it.

But there were occassional line ups of girls sitting in folding chairs in front of apartment buildings here and there who were visible and accessible to me.

If you're willing to go further afield, try Mahachai, a soi near Mahachai Hospital (known as Kilo Neung), about a dozen low-end brothels, going rate 500-900, only at night.
