Been here about a week, and because it's raining almost everyday, found some time to share my thoughts on this depressing city. I was able to book a walk in, monthly stay at the Salil Hotel on Sukhumvit 11 for just 7,000 which includes all utilities and a microwave.

Wow, that's a insanely crazy hotel deal looking at that place. That's nuts that Pattaya is completely dead so much that you couldn't find anything.

Is there any activity at the Soapy MPs? I thought Lords had been closed?

Thanks for the report. But I guess I am not sure from your opening statement whether this report is yours personally or something given to you for some reason to post "From a friend"? Well, anyway, I would say your or his general observations are correct, especially about how dark, dead and most certainly closed the go-go bars in Nana Plaza and Soi Cowboy are. I have seen some light and signs of life lately at Twisters BKK go-go bar on the ground level of Nana Plaza. But that is only because a few male workers are doing some remodeling or renovating in the place, same as at a couple of beer bars outside on Soi 4.

However, I am not familiar with what you are referring to on Soi 7 as "a few make shift bars with music and people behind curtains on that same Soi, just to the left as you make your way in." Are you talking about the collection of beer bars well into that little alley just before Beer Garden Soi 7, some of which re-located there from Soi 22 pre-Covid? I am not sure if I would say they are to be found "just to the left" as you enter Soi 7 from Sukhumvit Road and I don't know what you mean about "people behind curtains." So I was wondering if those are exactly the bars you meant or perhaps something else set up along the soi closer to Sukhumvit Road.

I have two Moderna vaccinations.

In two weeks, I am going to Cartagena from US where I will spend a week, then proceed to Santa Marta up the coast for a few days before returning to Cartagena. After that, I am flying to Mexico City where I will spend ten days followed by a trip to Cuernavaca, another well known Mexican city about 90 minute drive away. If I wanted to, which I don't, one could fly from the US to Greece, or Ibiza in Spain, and in general most European cities (if you are vaccinated and Covid free). I don't know about Brazil but believe it is generally open to tourists.

Most of Mexico from Tulum to Tijuana is open for business too. Regardless, in order to return to US, you need to take a Covid test to prove you are negative.

Some countries remain closed. Taiwan, New Zealand, Australia are virtually impossible for a tourist to enter. Flights from Mexico City to Cuba appear to be suspended. On the other hand, the DR is open as are most island places in the Carib. All these places are different scenes than Thailand but fun is still available to the discerning monger.

Can you be kind enough to list the plenty of places in the world you can go? Especially for a Pfizer vaccinated usa guy?

I am scheduled to return on Dec 26 but have some doubts if that will happen, especially if the fun factor remains eliminated. Even though, I don't by habit visit the bars in NEP, Soi Cowboy, etc. I do enjoy strolling the nearby sois taking it all in and that 'fun factor' seems sadly missing from your report. Fortunately, the weather and sunny days are in abundance during the winter, unlike monsoon season that you have to deal with, so the climate does get better once the season changes.

Nevertheless, I definitely will not come if the quarantine rule stays in effect or if they continue having a curfew. There are plenty of places I can go in the world where I don't have to be in my home by 10 or 11 pm. So this winter could be a miss. By the way, that's an amazing deal at the Hotel Salil. I remember their nightly rates being $60 to $70 only a few winters ago. I also recall that warren of bars before the Beer Garden. Even in the winter of 2020, talent there was tough to come by. Reception and staff are gone by 6 pm, so there is no problem bringing girls or having orgies if you want to. Daytime, they sometimes give you the stink eye "how can you be partying with sluts, while we are struggling to eat" look, but really don't say anything else.

Now for the quick scoop on the entertainment. Soi Cowboy is dark, dead, and empty. Nana is dark, dead, and empty besides a couple of security guys at the entrance. This shit is not even debatable and I'm not sure why anybody would post anything about any clubs such as Billboard's being secretly opened. It's not, end of story. Across from Nana there are a few stragglers hanging out in the deaf girls section next to Hooters, but nothing I would stick my dick in. Even if it was for free and doubled condom. The taco stand in the same parking lot has some activity with a little bit of food, little bit of drinks, and a few past their due date ladies. But once again, nothing I would waste my own time with. As for the rest of Soi 4, I only walked to Hillary 2, which was open, a bit busy, with some live music and lots of people, but not my cup of tea. It is okay dear. English is not my first language, so you might have misunderstood. I said I am going to try Finfin. I said I am going to go to Soapies by BTS (means not yet went there). I said not many girls in the bars and so I pickup from streets. I saw many massage parlors open and as I am new, yea I thought all bars open up for some time and then close. Just like in India few shops open or keep half open shutters and close them when cops come to enforce lockdown.
