I have been visiting Thailand almost annually for longer than most and I find this story incredible if not unbelievable.

I frequent the BG on every trip for (I) a morning coffee (not great) and often late in the evening for a beer, (ii) some banter with the ?MILFs? and younger FLs and (iii) a start to a fish dinner opposite (sometimes, for company with an FL before negotiating a night's pleasure if we prove compatible).

The BG is relatively well lit, the customers (FLs) don't change so much that the staff probably know most, it is not pushy crowded, I have never, even late at night, seen a fall down drunk there, tipsy, yes but not incapable.

It would be unfair to say that the situation described is just perpetuating an urban myth but for hustlers to play this trick at the BG when there are plenty of poorly lit less salubrious bars, stretches credulity.

Back in less than a month - and I will look around the BG just to see how it might happen.

I have been visiting LOS since '89 and nothing like what you describe has ever happened to me or anyone I know. I think what you experienced in Beergarten, if indeed it actually happened, was incredibly rare bad luck. Sorry dude, but there is that possibility, however small, that nothing happened. I mean who are you? I never heard of you before reading your report.

The other incident over in Beergarten is serious if it actually occurred. Has anyone else on the forum been doped here? Your comment that "every single day I am there something bad happens to me" sounds very emotional and extreme to me. Maybe the Land of Smiles is just not the right place for you, but then I can't think of another place that is more user friendly or safer than Thailand. Not the PI or Jakarta for damn sure. My advice is to take a break, relax, and when you are ready, get back on the pony that threw you. BKK is a pretty amazing city, although I guess it is not for everybody.

For 17 years now that I have been visiting Thailand this has never happened to me. But it never hurts to stay cautious around the places we pursue our hobby. I usually carry nothing in my pockets except cash that I think will cover my night which is usually nothing more that 2 - 3 k THB. In Thailand you never pay the girl in advance, so you don't need to carry that cash.

As a rule I never drink anything that has not been opened in front of me. I never accept drinks from strangers, no matter how hot.

I may have been [CodeWord140] drunk a few times around Nana or Cowboy but I guess I was lucky or I had trusted friends looking out for me.

I remember a similar thing happening to me once in Maracaibo, it was a Friday night and I had been to the bank that day for my weekend spending money. Had a great time with a real stunner in Champagne bar, next thing I was in a taxi on my way back to my hotel knew something was wrong got my wallet out of my pocket and everything had gone. A lesson was learned I was more annoyed about the fact I had been suckered than the loss of money.

I will be in Bangkok in 4 weeks and would like to know is there anything similar to Soi 6 Pattaya, I have been to Nana and Soi cowboy but they are not the same for me.

It's a shame this happened to you, but things like this happen all over. In any major city, and almost any place with lots of tourists, there will be people who take advantage of the tourists. It's only fair. We travel to places like BKK to take advantage of the locals.

Your problems at the Dollhouse should have tipped you off that you may be out of your element. Chances are there's an explanation about the disagreement over the bill. It might not be an explanation you like, or agree with, but it's probably there. Maybe you misunderstood the happy hour special, maybe you were charged wrongly for a drink or a lady drink. In the end it's not a large amount of money.

If you travel alone, especially if you spend your time in the red light districts, you run the risk of being drugged and robbed, or just robbed. Be aware of your surroundings, be in control of your situation and yourself. It only takes a second for someone to drop something in your drink or to pick your pockets. Don't drink to much and don't drink anything that has been out of your sight.

There's also an obvious advantage to staying at a hotel that checks and keeps the girls identification.

Anyway My opinion is that place like BG is more safe than clubs!!

I think there is always a higher risk with freelancers but I have only heard of others having problems, not myself. I haven't used freelancers for years.

Doll house has a mamasan of very good character. However I can't comment on management. Never had any problems.

Oh dear, I hope you didn't lose much. My first visit to BKK was 2.5 yrs ago and I had no advice and was not aware of ISG. Spent 3 days and nights exploring without any guidance and was alone, but nothing bad ever happened to me. I found BKK to be safe, you just have to keep your radar active. I ended visiting BKK once a month for long weekends over the course of year. I guess you are just having a spout of bad luck, chin up buddy and hope it gets better for you. I love BKK!

I wanted to finish my bar trip in the Dollhouse just yesterday evening, buy one draft and get the second free, for something 135 or 160 bath.

After ordering the 4th beer (so total should be around 320 bath max) the manager came to me with a bill of 550 bath.

I said, I don't pay that amount, his answer was he would call the police.

With some beer up the police don't take you serious, that's what the manager sees as his strong point to rob costumer.

My advice is stay away.

BTW he sneeky put another 60 bath on top and with 5% credit card cost you get this prove.

Yesterday evening I decided to take a stroll through Soi Cowboy. To my great surprise and even taking into acccount that it was a Monday evening around 10 PM, there were actually more girls outside the clubs and bars than there were men walking around and a sizable portion of them were Asian. The bomb attack earlier this year seems to have scared away a lot of farangs it seems.

Anyhow, inside Suzi Wong, the mamasan found me a good spot as the shows were just starting. Plenty of empty seats still. I drank my usual "naam soda" and let things happen. This report is overdue by a week but such is life.

Landed in BKK on Sat afternoon 2:00 pm and took a cab to the city. Being a business trip I was staying at the Shangri-La, a far cry from the more frequented hotels along Sukhumvit. Promptly went off to Surawong for lunch at Somboon. The crab curry & steamed prawns with rice never disappoint. Of course, I had my social media fired up and before my food could arrive I had a couple of hits. A cute 23 yo named Dao was apparently just 100 m away and offered to come over in 10 minutes. No commitments. So while I was wrestling with the crab Dao showed up in a white linen top and blue jeans with beige boots. Something like out of a bad western.
