Take the Sheraton Sukhumvit since you mentioned it: I have a 6 night no pre payment, fully cancellable booking with them for a deluxe room in March, 2022 for $100 per night. I could have booked same room, same hotel for $65 per night with a prepared no cancelation booking, but I am not sure the kingdom will be open in March and I am not willing to bet on it.

I have two Moderna vaccinations.

In two weeks, I am going to Cartagena from US where I will spend a week, then proceed to Santa Marta up the coast for a few days before returning to Cartagena. Some countries remain closed. Taiwan, New Zealand, Australia are virtually impossible for a tourist to enter. Flights from Mexico City to Cuba appear to be suspended. On the other hand, the DR is open as are most island places in the Carib. All these places are different scenes than Thailand but fun is still available to the discerning monger.

I actually have been retired for several years and spent considerable amount of my time in Bangkok, at least during the winter months, and other SEA countries. I am scheduled to return on Dec 26 but have some doubts if that will happen, especially if the fun factor remains eliminated. Even though, I don't by habit visit the bars in NEP, Soi Cowboy, etc. I do enjoy strolling the nearby sois taking it all in and that 'fun factor' seems sadly missing from your report. Fortunately, the weather and sunny days are in abundance during the winter, unlike monsoon season that you have to deal with, so the climate does get better once the season changes.

Nevertheless, I definitely will not come if the quarantine rule stays in effect or if they continue having a curfew. There are plenty of places I can go in the world where I don't have to be in my home by 10 or 11 pm. So this winter could be a miss. By the way, that's an amazing deal at the Hotel Salil. Plus, I am a grown and mature enough to clean my own place everyday, plus the it's good exercise and for your health, not to be a sloth. Many eateries, a 7-11, and Villa Market is nearby. Reception and staff are gone by 6 pm, so there is no problem bringing girls or having orgies if you want to. Daytime, they sometimes give you the stink eye "how can you be partying with sluts, while we are struggling to eat" look, but really don't say anything else.

Now for the quick scoop on the entertainment. Soi Cowboy is dark, dead, and empty. Nana is dark, dead, and empty besides a couple of security guys at the entrance. This shit is not even debatable and I'm not sure why anybody would post anything about any clubs such as Billboard's being secretly opened. It's not, end of story.
