It was only around 8 PM, and I allowed the front door ladies to coax me in. To my shock I was the only guy in the place! The mamasan talked to me and I stated that I was interested in drinks and no barfine. The mamasan immediately brought a lady over to sit with me (even though I didn't request or call a number).

I guess this was the top lady in there as she was super-hot. I probably would have picked her anyway. I'd say 10/10 face and 7.5/10 body. I bought her a drink. She immediately got on top of me and was, ahem, extremely persuasive with her body. All this time, the whole contingent of dancers was gyrating right in front of shy little me.

The lady on my lap kept trying to talk me into going 'upstairs' with her, even though I had said drinks only to the mamasan. The dancers were also yelling at me, cheering me on. Conclusion: I don't want to return here anytime soon due to the bad attitude of this one lady.

So this bar is reputed as being mainly for the Japanese clientele, and I agree with that description. The prices are also expensive.

Drinks (not Lady Drink) are 220 THB, and you must buy one before you enter.

The main draw here is the multi-level transparent dance floor, where you can look up at the underwear-less dancers upstairs.

To be honest, I did not find the ladies here to be very attractive. I am from North America, and perhaps they ladies are attractive from a Japanese perspective. This place had a large number of ladies all having this super-petite elfin kind of look. No good dancers, they were all in there doing the Bangkok shuffle, barely moving.

The second and third floors seemed more relaxed. But the transparent floors gimmick gets old pretty fast.

Conclusion: Not for me. Will not return.

Suzie Wong

I allowed the promoters in front to usher me in, and it was kind of awkward. It's a small place with about 5 dancers onstage. I was the only guy in here.

I did not find the dancers very attractive, and they all seemed kind of depressed, probably due to the lack of customer action. I almost didn't want to look up at them. I finished my drink quickly and paid and left.

Conclusion: Maybe return at a busier time.

Tilac

A big place with a large selection of quite attractive ladies. You can also get drinks out front and you don't have to buy Lady Drinks if you don't want. Pretty easy going with the mamasan. She actually started coaching me in the Thai pronunciations of certain touristic spots I had visited!

Inside, the dancers are on platforms all over the place, and you can't view them all from any one sitting location. It's like a bonanza in there with all the hot ladies!

The downside is that they're fairly uptight on what you can do after you buy a Lady Drink. Many other places, you can get a handful of boob, but here, she says: "If you want to massage me, you have to pay the bar!" OK, fine. She is cut off after 1 lady drink.

Conclusion: Good place for drinks or if you want to barfine. But if you just want to get frisky during Lady Drinks, it is not a good choice.

Five Star

A very small place and I didn't even see it during my first few visits to Cowboy.

The stage is pretty small, and the seating is small and intimate. About half the ladies were nude dancing!! Some of them were indeed lookers, and I invited one over. She slipped on this little black frock thing (no underwear) and joined me. Let's just say they are very liberal on what you can do here. By the second Lady Drink, I think she forgot to ask for more drinks. Her eyes were closed and she had a big grin on her face, and my hands were visiting places that normally require barfines! Yes, I had a big grin too!

Zero pressure on tips, or buy drinks for mamasan, etc.

Conclusion: I definitely enjoyed my time here and want to go back.

Lighthouse

It's a small to medium size place. It just seems to be a typical GoGo Bar, but I liked the dancers. They also have coyote dancers here, who are identified by different wristband colours. IIRC, the regular barfine is 700 and for coyote it is 1200.

More of the dancers here seemed to be having a good time and have a good attitude. Dancers on stage were receptive to receiving the long eye contact and smiling, and responded well with more sexy dance moves right in front of me.

Next thing you know, I have two ladies sitting in my lap and we're having a crazy good time!

Very little pressure on tips, buying drinks for mamasan, etc.

This place is just around the corner from Soi Cowboy, on Soi 23.

This place is run by Disgusting pigs.

They wanted a 500 THB cover charge from me, a visible minority. I tried entering on 2 separate days, and it was the same thing.

But I stuck around in the area, and talked to numerous other white European men exiting Crazy House. Not a single one of them had to pay anything to get in.

I believe it is only due to my 'wrong' skin colour that they were trying to keep me out. I told them my home country (in North America) and the bouncer didn't care. And it is the truth, I'm born and bred in North America.

Angel Witch

A good concept, but I found it kind of annoying in the end due to the way their staff operate to 'coach' the ladies.

I went in here two days in a row, the second time because I got some 95 THB happy hour drink coupon, which was honored without a fuss. (Lady drinks still full price. The 95 TBH was for the first drink only.).

When you ask for a dancer to sit with you, a staff member comes and sits right in front of you, within an arm's reach, watching your interactions, constantly talking to the lady and giving her instructions on what to do and when to ask for lady drinks. This same staff member kept lifting up my beer to verify there was actually beer left in the bottle. (You can't see the bottom because of the beer cozy).

The same 'coach' remembered me the second time, (I was wearing the same loud shirt,) and he was trying to get a lady drink out of me. I offered him a 100 THB tip instead. He was happy for that and it's also cheaper than LD prices.

They're also strategic here in giving you the right change to tip them, if you're not paying exact change.

Conclusion: The way they scrutinize you as you interact with the ladies is creepy and annoying. I do not plan to come back.

Spanky's

One of the more enjoyable places on the second floor. It's a smaller and more intimate place, with a darker room. This makes it harder for staff to come and hassle you for drinks, especially if you pick a good seat location.

I really loved the shower show. The lady is inside this plastic shower, soaping herself up. Starts in a swimsuit, ends up wearing nothing.

I didn't ask for any dancer to sit with me but I wasn't hassled at all either.

Conclusion: Good place to come back. Verify at the door when the shower show will start!

This was my first visit to Bangkok.

Billboard GoGo

This place is famous and you see a lot of reviews on it. I went in was seated right in front of the soapy bathtub. Holy crap, smoking' hot ladies. There is also the second 'display' where the Ziggurat are dancing on a circular stage that is slowly rotating. So you can check out the product! I enjoyed that bathtub show for a while but I decided I wanted a lady on my lap. I found some seating around the side, near the rotating display.

I know the feeling. But how few hours? If over 7 hrs (landing to take off) you can either take the expensive option of booking into airport hotel (advance booking needed) and order in. It works well but costs extra 1,000 baht for travel. Gold and Golden have both proved reliable for this (book in advance, confirm on landing) as has Smooci (book on landing). Alternatively cab or public transport to and from one of well reviewed places around Sukhumvit.

But remember on entry into Thailand in takes some time to get through passport control unless you are VIPed and procedure on way out is certainly not speedy. Can take up to two hours from landing / before takeoff but you could be lucky.
