The only busy tourist area was Soi 4 by nana plaza. Many African girls and many very pretty. They want big money too. The starting is 2000 baut but some can be talked down to 1500 baut. Thai girl are still 1000 baut. BKK was cool just too expensive especially at the massage places that want 1800- 2200 baut.

At about 3 AM near Soi 7 at Sukhumit, I had a pretty African girl offer me ST for 1000, if I would buy her a LEO from a lady selling beer out of an ice chest. I had just popped shortly before and wasn't hungry for African food. However, she was rather attractive, pleasant and on the smaller side. Had I still been looking for poon, I likely would have jumped on her, and finally had my total chocolate experience (I've only laid a mulatto girl, who I briefly dated).

Maybe you have to go at the right time and talk to the right girl. I had a comely, young Thai girl try to pimp off her plain, shapeless girlfriend for 2000, as well. But, that was earlier in the evening. Later, at Jungle Jim, I had an unattractive, heavy and very mature Thai woman quote me 2000 for ST (plus barfine) after I made a completely hypothetical request for her price. After I left Soi Cowboy, I went while walking past the Westin and I picked up a superb lay for half that price without haggling. She gladly walked several blocks in some ridiculous high heels to my hotel, with nary a complaint. In my brief time there, my experience was that unrealistic pricing can be found anywhere in BKK, with any demographic.

Another observation is that black people in the sex industry, anywhere in the world, typically go for the least amount of money. That might come off as a racist idea to some, but that is just the cold, hard reality of life. In the American porn industry, they get paid less as performers. On Craigslist, they are always the cheapest hookers. In the DR, the Haitian girls go for a discount to the native Dominican girls. In parts of Spain, apparently the African girls are dirt cheap compared to European girls. That probably applies to the rest of Europe. So that said, why should African girls suddenly go for a premium to the average street price, just because they happen to be in Thailand? Maybe because some guys thought they needed to paid more for coming all the distance to some place where they are not all that welcome? If there is a premium to African girls, it only exists because guys felt they should pay them more. Their services will become cheaper as soon as guys decide they will pay them less. Simple economics. Its not like they are going to be paid better back in Africa, right?

Crazy House: Very popular, but I don't like it. Some of the dancers are good looking and some are nude. But I have a problem of how they operate in this business. Girls getting two ladies drinks instad of one and then leaving after a few minutes is just one of the tricks they pull. I'm definitely finished with this bar.

Tilac: A large bar, but when I was here (a Sunday) there were few dancers and customers. I find it very strange that some people like this bar, as none of the dancers were attractive and the waitresses were greedy and smelling at the day of my visit.

I filtered out everything other than the two I want to comment on.

Crazy House: At Crazy House, I don't let the girls buy two drinks. Yes, they will try to order two. Normally "tequila and coke". Which they charge separately for tequila and the coke. I tell them they can get one. They are fine with that. Good girls at Crazy House!

Tilac: Yes, Sunday at Tilac sucks (normally). You picked a bad night. That night is normally dead. But some nights it is awesome. I love the girls there. They are the most GFE at Soi Cowboy in my opinion. It's rare I don't get great service when I take a Tilac girl.

I stayed some time in Bkk lately and had time to spare for the bars, although I must say that for barfining the gogo-bars are not a good option these days. Expensive and with so-so quality, it's better to go to a massage parlour. But I still visit the bars for a good time out.

Sow Cowboy:

This street used to be favorite of mine, but that time has long passed. I think it changed around 2012. Of the 26 bars only 4 I find interesting now. (NEP and Patpong are better for barfining at the present time.) Here follows some short reviews of some of the bars.

Cactus: This small joint is easily my favorite. Yes, some of the women have got a few pounds extra (although not all of them), but they are nude and available. A nice atmosphere, rock music and Belgian beer also goes a long way.

Suzie Wongs: Used to my favorite in the old days, but today's Suzie is very different from the classic one. The nice girls are gone, some fatties are left. And what happened to the show?? Just one year ago there were lots of acts (same programme that goes back to at least 2011). Now there are just two, the body painting and the lesbian one (still good). Probably I'm finished with this bar. I was here on a Sunday, maybe it's better on other days. The drinks are of the more expensive, 175 baht. The show starts at 10 pm.

Dollhouse: One the best places on Cowboy now, it has nudity, a (possibly) noughty second floor and low prices during happy hour before 8 pm. But the show at 11 pm is so-so, a bit similar to Suzie, only WITH clothes. Ridiculous. But otherwise a good bar, although the dancer I took out from here (only one from Cowboy this year) turned out to be a clock-watcher.

Shark: A resonably good place to spend some time. Good looking dancers.

Crazy House: Very popular, but I don't like it. Some of the dancers are good looking and some are nude. But I have a problem of how they operate in this business. Cowboy2: now one of the "Arab" bars, this means that you should NOT barfine (3000 baht instead of the usual 700). But the bar looks different from the other Arab bars, being full of dancers and customers and having normal drink prices.

Rawhide: The good thing with this bar is that the dancers are attractive and they are nude.

Lighthouse: Boring place with Coyote dancers (not interesting in barfining, or maybe not even in having a drink).

Baccara: Very popular with the Japanese. Many pretty ladies here if you like silicone boobs. Expensive.

Tilac: A large bar, but when I was here (a Sunday) there were few dancers and customers. I find it very strange that some people like this bar, as none of the dancers were attractive and the waitresses were greedy and smelling at the day of my visit.

Sunshine, aka Afterskool: One of the small bars, this one is quite interesting. When I visited I took a seat at the far side of the bar. Then the waitress told me (twice), that I should move over to another seat, because where I sat was the BJ and handjob place. Funny thing. Reasonable priced drinks and a congenial atmosphere. The "dancers" look ok.

Jungle Jims: I never sat down here because it's always full! So it is probably good then? A small place, a bit similar to Afterskool.

SUMMARY: Basically there are two types of bars at Soi Cowboy, the large expensive places with the casual tourist, and the small bars with the repeat customers staying for several drinks and possible exhibit noughty behavior.

THE BEST:
Dollhouse, Shark (large bars).
Cactus, Afterskool / Sunshine (small bars).

PASSABLE BARS: Crazy House, Rawhide (large).
Five Star (live band) , Crazy Cat (medium).
Toy, Jungle Jims (small).

PUBS AND RESTAURANTS: Sams 2000, Shadow, Spritz, Penny Black, Country Road, Old Dutch, The Corner, Tiger Burger+AtCorner.

AVOID: the so called "Arab bars", owned by "The Man From Iran". It seems that all of the employees in these bars are out on the street trying to lure people to go in. Don't go, they are overpriced, and these days with very few dancers and customers. Will they close soon? Sahara, Deja Vu, Spice Girls, Kiss, Rio, Midnite (and partly Cowboy2).

AVOID?: in my opinion these are not worth visiting at this time: Suzie Wongs, Lighthouse, Tilac, Baccara, Lucky Star aka Long Gun, Dundee (large bars).
Moonshine, Fanny's (small bars).
Be aware that Cucktoo is a ladyboys place.

Can you see that THB 1000 as a tip is perhaps a little bit over the top?

You would be surprised what is walking the streets in the wee hours. But, isn't there some "after hours" club at the corner of Soi Cowboy. A place where the talent from the bars go to solicit further after closing?

I'm staying at Ambassador for 1 night soon and confirmed through their reservation system that they are girl friendly. They do charge 20 baht to photocopy the lady's ID. Can't speak to value for money, but it's walking distance to Nana BTS, which suits me just fine as I'll be taking the Express Train + BTS from the airport.

Yep. The tourist restaurants are horrible with regards to food safety. Don't know why, but every stupid european breakfast house has the most unsanitary food. I get very sick eating at the tourist restaurants (both Thai food and western food ones) as these people couldn't care if I was eating dead rat heads, they'll never see me again. So I keep to the street food, as those cooking for the locals are relying on repeat customers and are there for years at the same spot. And yeah their food does taste better than the restaurants. They cook 1-2 things and are good at just that.

Indeed, I read the trick is to find busy places where the food is always fresh. Like you said, I noticed the street carts and cafes have a limited menu, often one item. But, it doesn't sit there long. And of course, look at which places are favored by the locals. They know what is good.

BKK traffic is the worse I have ever seen it. Just endless cars that barely move. The Raja hotel is covered up so its either being torn down or remodeled. I could not see it because of barriers. The Russian girl that used to work there now work on Soi 3. If you stand in front of Grace hotel walk up the hill till you see the big hospital on the left. The hotel next to the hospital is where the girls are. The touts are in front of the hotel. Before there used to be only 1 or two touts. Now there is like 8 of them. Each one has a different price for the same girl. 3600, 3000, 2600 etc. Only 8 Russian girls working just OK looking. Nothing like the 30 that used to work before all much hotter. One of the touts looks like a Russian gangster. I was kind of worried if I was going to be assaulted be him.

Yup, my BEST girls in SEA have all been SW, or FL from places like LA Cafe in Manila, and Soi 7 Beer Garden, Bangkok. Even Hard Rock Cafe (yes that one) in Jakarta. I have a barfine phobia.

As for food, If you do eat off the street, NEVER visit a Thai wet market!

But even if you do see a market and leave grossed out, understand that all bar the high end restaurants, and global chains, get their protein from these markets.

So you may as well eat off the streets anyway. Street food also sits around a lot less than in bigger establishments, and wok seared food has had a lot of the pathogens destroyed by heat.

The high end places are using bulk suppliers like Makro (same same costco) where standards are much more universally hygienic.

ED street drugs; well, the kamagra gel seems to be the one I'd trust as the real deal, but it gives me unpleasant side effects. Do not buy Cialis off the street, it will either be fake, or long since expired.

Here's a tip, genuine Cialis works for up to three days per dose, usually 48 hrs guaranteed.

You can ask to break open the pack and buy just ONE single pill at most mom and pop drugstores for around THB 500 (The pharmacist on Soi 22 a few doors from Buddy's restaurant will certainly do this) which is cheaper than it sells in Australia where it's made!

This pill can then be cut with a pill cutter into two half doses, which if you do not have actual ED is more than enough to get you nice and firm for the same 48 hrs.

In Thailand, it would be extremely rare for some idiot to put coconut cream in Tom Yum Gung. Don't recall it ever happening. Did happen to me in a Thai takeaway in Germany resulting in the Tom Yam being more like Curry Laksa.

Coconut milk is supposed to be for Tom Kha Gai.
