I have been a long time lurker on this forum and have gotten a lot of great info about Thailand and the Philippians during the last 2-3 years. I my report is not too long.

A while back someone posted a link to a website and I ended up reading a few page till I ended up here http://afarangabroad.com/find-thai-girlfriend.

I am not on a huge salary in Aus and with the AUD going down I need to spend my money a little more wisely than spending 1,000-2,000 in various afterhours night clubs. The person who manages that site also echos what people say on here about finding Thai girls online, here is my experience.

I recently just left after a 2 week trip and spend most of my time in Bangkok and Phuket. Two weeks before my flight I signed up to Thai Friendly and decided to check it out. I am in my mid 40's but look a lot younger, I don't get a lot of attention for girls in Australia but can usually do okay once I get talking. I uploaded one picture and got a few messages. I read online that the more better dressed you look the better reaction your profile will get. I took a few more pictures with me in a shirt and saved, next thing I know I was getting 10-15 messages a day. Pretty good even for a old fart like me.

I started sorting though the messages and saw a few girls I like.

#1 - the first girl met me at the airport after we chatted for a while on skype. She was a nice girl but her English was pretty bad (we text chatted on Skype). The taxi ride to my hotel was really awkward as she hardly said a word, we got some food and she hardly spoke a word. I decided to call it a night but she wanted to come back with me to my room. Anyway I won't go into details with what happened.

#2 - The second girl I met up in Terminal 21 (mall) and her English was a lot better and I had 100% more fun. The girl seemed bubbly and flirty and said she worked some office job. I meet her again a few days a later and a bar, we had some drinks and she asked if she could come back to mine because as she lived far away and taxis for women are dangerous at night. You can guess what happened. This girl was a bit older and afterwards she was madly in love with me or maybe it was lust. She kept wanting to meet me everyday but I enjoy time alone, in the end I felt a bit guilty and spent more time then I would have liked with this girl. She was sweet and even paid her share of the bills expect when we went somewhere pricey and I thought it was only right that I pay the bill given their low salaries.

I think in total I was talking to around girls, a few of them flaked or just stopped chatting to me for no reason after a few days, I am not sure what the deal was there. I would have liked to meet more but girl #2 took most of my time. While I think the level of sex is better in massage if you are looking for cheaper ways to get laid in Bangkok online works well and I am not that good looking. I feel I spent too much time on these dating sites and it would be great if there was a middle man who manged your account and setup the dates for you. I spent the first week talking to any who messages me but half of the girls have a poor grasp and its hard to get anything good going.

Just wanted to let everyone know of my experiences and give a little back since you have helped me over the years find a few gems that otherwise I would never have known about.

.....good things about the Rainbow GoGos I decided to make this my first stop but as I approached a man stopped me and said it was members only. I don't believe this but I guess it could be because I'm of Indian origin (albeit born and raised in the UK), I would have thought the fact that I speak perfect English with a strong British accent would make that obvious but I guess this guy was an idiot.

.....Guy tells me the policy was brought in "last week" and that I can simply become a member for 1,200 Baht. HELL NO!

The policy definitely wasn't brought in last week. I was quoted THB 1000 to enter Rainbow 4 two years ago, after I was told its members only, LOL (I didn't pay of course). There are several reports across the pages which indicate that Rainbow clubs are not Indian friendly. Atleast, Rainbow 4 definitely isn't. Rainbow 2 (I think) which is next to Spanky's on the first floor you can have better luck, several times I noticed the entrance not being manned by anyone, thus quick entry and exit if required.

Many here believe that Rainbow girls are surgically done up with nose jobs, boob jobs et al thus plasticy. I have never been inside so can't comment. Wonder if you are really missing anything?

Also, a note of caution, the idiots manning the entrance to these clubs can be hopped up on drugs and are prone to violence (a couple of such reports which report physical harm can also be found on the forum), so better to not get aggressive with them and move on or better still avoid entirely.

Going to Thailand for the first time. Been to Costa Rica, Cartagena Co, Sosua DR 4 Times, Puerto Rico once. Is there a Google map for both Bangkok and Pattaya that is in circulation. Its my birthday trip so my friend and I want to stay close to the action in Bangkok and Pattaya so we don't spend our entire vacay in taxi trying to get somewhere. Something fairly modern but not too pricey 1500 Baht max a nigh and close to the action. Can anyone make a recommendation.

I've stayed at the Majestic Suites, on main road at corner of Soi 4. If you book in advance you should get a room for less than 1500 baht and its definitely one of the better 3 star hotels I've stayed in, also right opposite Soi Arabe so a variety of cuisines available within a short walk and BTS Nana station 6 minutes walk away.

I stay at PJ WaterGate (Not WaterGate) in Pratunum Bangkok. Nice hotel for Thailand- Remember the level of standards are much less then Western countries. Average about 1300 THB. Close to shopping and not to far from Nana Plaza 10 minutes by BTS.

Ok so let's see. I suggest you go to booking dot com and search for your hotels in Thailand, great service. Secondly please read through the forums hotel sections for Pattaya and Bangkok. Many members have recommended and posted regarding the best choices. Thirdly contribute enough to the forum to be awarded a senior level membership so you can exchange messages with the rest of us regarding your questions or purchase the $25 dollar yearly membership. Please don't get discouraged by some of the members telling you to read in a sarcastic way. Actually for a newbie it is really overwhelming and with all the useless dribble, bickering, and unrelated posts it is sometimes easier to just ask rather than read through so much. Day 1:

So I arrived Tuesday morning and made my way to the hotel via the air link train to Makkasan and then a cab the rest of the way. Arrived about midday-ish and shown to my room. Despite being tired I didn't rest long, unpacked a few bits, showered, had a snack and went out to get money exchanged, get sim card and look around. After some food at Soi Arab looked for a shop to buy some cheap booze, I only see some 7/11's nearby and small bottles of branded spirits really aren't much cheaper than the hotel so some pointers on where to get good prices on booze would be nice, I'm not into trying local beer as I'm not a big drinker and would rather stick to what I know.

After this I retired to hotel to shower and change, had a couple vodka with red bull and had a look around the Nana area before heading into nana itself. By now it was about 10 pm and I surveyed the ground floor as I walked by the GoGos I spotted Rainbow 2, having heard good things about the Rainbow GoGos I decided to make this my first stop but as I approached a man stopped me and said it was members only. I have seen Indians let in at Rainbow 2. The girls love them. Rainbow 4 I've seen many Indians be blocked from going inside.

Basically you want to stay near Sukhumvit Road, the main drag, anywhere from Soi 2 (Nana) to Soi 23 (Asok / Cowboy) up to Soi 39/ Soi 26 (Phrom Phong) and all the oily massage shops). Read the BKK hotel forum for more specific hotel recommendations.

Not too hard to do, just look at the map and pick a girl friendly hotel in your price range.

It could be one of the below reasons:

1) Girl is very smooth operator and you will pay big time later.

2) You are her "get out of thailand" card (Visa sponsorships).

3) She is one of those serial farang daters for whom having farang boyfriend is status symbol.

4) She is just as much bored of single life as you and wanted to fuck away the pain.

5) She just want to taste something different.

6) She is really in love with you.

I also don't get why my thai girlfriend is still my girlfriend. These are mysteries of life that one should enjoy but not investigate.

I did not get the sense at all with any of the girls that sponsorship was the target (or maybe they are so smooth that it will come much much later!) and that's why I cannot figure out why do they do this? Is it for a good meal and drinks? That does not sound right. Maybe the more experienced that throw some light?

I am a semi-regular visitor to BKK, heading to town next weekend (about a year since my last trip) and having read most of the recent reports, I am concerned that quality in the gogos seems to be going way down. I have basically concluded that I should be hitting Baccara, Sharks and particularly Crazy House. I am sorry to hear Rainbow 4 has gone downhill, and that Nana Plaza seems a shadow of its former glory. Given the poor reports on Soi Cowboy and Nana, I am even considering going to Pat Pong to check out Bada Bing and Pagoda. I used to really like Safari. About 15 years ago. Anyway, if anybody can suggest a gogo with a strong line up of hot young girls, other than the above, I would appreciate it. I prefer LT to ST, and love a threesome, as long as its quality.

Arrived in Bangkok last night and was really haggard after several days of partying in Hong Kong. Had a couple of beers outside Tilac bar in Soi Cowboy and suddenly got the idea that I should visit an old favourite of mine; Sharks. Must say the quality here is just top class. I can hardly think of any go-go that can match them. Even Happy and Baccara.

In Pattaya will struggle in this competition. I go there often and the quality is also consistent. Last night I was almost sober. So I do not view it with "beer eyes" every night! What is there not to like in this bar? I see no "average" ladies. They are all beautiful! No big bellies, no mothers with stretchmarks. Just top notch young pussy! And they are fun to talk to as well. Waiters that do not push drinks is also a bonus. Barfine is 600 bath but I was just to tired to try anything this night. If you know any better place in SC please tell me.
