I arrived at BKK about 10 pm on the third Wednesday of November. It took less than an hours to retrieve my bag, go through immigration and get a taxi. Fifteen minutes later we pulled up to the Sofitel on Sukhumvit. I had no problem with the fare. The meter was on, as has always been the case when I come in from the airport. Occasionally, going to BKK has been another matter. I like the new system for taxis. There is a machine that prints out a ticket you give to the taxi and you're off.

Here are some of my general experiences and impressions.

My hotel was much busier than in June. The customer relations manager told me most of their guest are in town on business and the hotel hosts many business functions. He conceded business had been terrible in June but quite good now and they anticipated a good high season based on scheduled events and room bookings. Though it was before the beginning of the official high season there seemed to be more tourists than last December when the protests were in their early stage. However, a very reliable source tells me the business at the oily MPs is very slow and some of the girls are temporarily leaving for foreign destinations hoping business is better there.

The gogo bars have changed dramatically. In June I saw a lot of nudity. Then the girls at Crazy House were hot and mostly buck naked. So I went there on my first night out this trip, which was a Thursday, and was surprised to see that Crazy House had turned into a dog house. All the girls were wearing bikini tops and a G-string covered by a micro skirt. On that night they were the sorriest looking collection of girls I saw in any gogo I visited on the trip. I didn't see such a large police presence again, but on each subsequent visit the police were conspicuous and I often saw two and three police officers walk together through Soi Cowboy on patrol. Oh, and after being recognized at CH and DH, I decided to skip Suzy Wong altogether.

Over the next two weeks I visited Nana Plaza several times. I preferred Soi Cowboy in June, but not this trip. I saw police at the entrance of the plaza, but fewer in number and never walking around inside. Compared to Soi Cowboy, Nana Plaza had better looking ladies showing more skin. I visited RB1, 3 & 4. RB4 had ladies dancing topless. The other two did not. RB3 had an average lineup. RB1&4 had relatively good lineups. RB4, and RB1 to a lesser degree, had a number of Japanese customers. Still, I found the ladies gave me plenty of attention and clearly wanted me to BF them. Perhaps simply because business was slow, but in June I also got plenty of attention at these venues, but then business was also very slow. At RB1, which was my favorite venue on this trip, I ran into Moojie. I spotted her first, but she immediately recognized me when I called out her name. Unlike on visits a couple of years ago, none of the girls in any of the bars approached me and requested I buy them a LD. Even the girls who remembered me from June just said Hello, and did not push getting treated to a drink, though I offered to buy each lady a couple of drinks.

Late at night the sidewalks from Soi 15 going towards Terminal 21 are lined with food stands, pop-up bars and FLs, a number of which are LBs. I had several very early morning meals at one of the food stands. As for the LBs, they were easy to spot and avoid. Many grabbed my arm as I walked buy. I just pulled my arm away, ignored them and kept walking. I don't like getting pawed and wasn't going to even acknowledge them by making eye contact. As for the FLs, they ranged from not worth it to okay looking. None were even close to stunning, but a few were fuckable. I also saw some attractive ladies hanging out around Thermae, which is next door to my hotel. Many, but not all had too much plastic surgery, and some were made up to appeal to the Japanese customers, which though amusing does not appeal to me. However, more than a few were at least decent looking and a few were quite attractive. Inside I observed the same as in June, lots of attractive FLs and many patrons who appeared to be Japanese. Many of the ladies standing close to the entrance established eye contact and smiled invitingly when I walked in. As was the case in June, it seemed to me that a farang would have no problem scoring an attractive FL there if he wanted to.

Finally, I have no idea where you find them, but there are SW in Bangkok that look as good as the best looking pretties at Siam Paragon and the models you see on the billboards and video screens. Early one evening as I sat in my hotel's lobby waiting for BKKMick I saw two ladies walk in together. Their dress and manner made it obvious they were high-end escorts. I watched them go over to the concierge desk and after waiting a minute or so get escorted to the elevators. On another occasions I was having a drink in the hotel's bar on the 32nd floor and saw two men walk in, separately, each accompanied by an escort as attractive as the two I saw in the lobby. Again the ladies' dress and manner made their occupation clear. Both of the men looked to be in their mid-forties, were clean cut, average looking, dressed in expensive smart casual clothes and oozed success and self-confidence. Finally, in the wee hours one morning I was sitting in the hotel lobby reading the Financial Times. Over the course of about thirty minutes I watched three escorts walk from the direction of the elevators through the lobby and out the hotel's entrance. It's far easier to get to these places from the USA than it is to BKK. Virtually everybody I've ever talked to blanches at the thought of 17+ hours in an airplane, plus a few hours in layovers. And, as The Goat said, most Americans only get 2 weeks of vacation. Travel to SEA eats up about 3 days of that, and the eastbound jet lag can be brutal for some folks.

As for CR, as I've mentioned before, I know an American who lived there but moved to Pattaya. He's been in LOS a few years now, loves it & prefers it over CR.

Americans don't need to go to any of the places you list. They have loads of PFP or PFT options in their own country without paying airfares to travel for hours to strange lands. The vast majority get their fun on US soil & contribute back to the economy there.

If they happen to choose relatively dangerous Brazil over LOS, they've also chosen a country that presents greater language issues & a much higher HIV rate. From the NW USA the trip to Brazil will also be more expensive. Brazil is a more popular hobbying destination than any of those you mentioned, LOS excepted.

The 15 to 30 minutes is still generally true of SG street girls, who are mostly PRC & VN, with some Indos, Thai & South Asians. If that's all a guy needs to pop, it does the trick for as little as 600 or 700 baht.
