My 2014 Trip Report
Day 17 Saturday March 15,2014 Bangkok Day 1 (Semi Monogamy):
Note: I was fortunate to visit Malate, Jakarta, Singapore, Phnom Penh, BKK, Pattaya, Macau, AC, Barrio Barreto, and Makati in that order on this my 2014 South East Asia Trip. I had a great time and met some fantastic girls everywhere. So far I have posted reports covering the Malate and Jakarta segments of my trip in the appropriate ISG forums. I am jumping ahead of myself a little bit by posting my BKK trip now. I will go back and post my Singapore and Phnom Penh experiences shortly. I would suggest you guys take a look at my previous posts especially the Jakarta posts to get an idea of what I like to do and the type of girls I like to hook up with. I have stayed at the Fraser Suites Hotel on previous trips and I like the hotel. The 60 sq. Meter 1 bedroom suites are large and comfortable, the pool while not very big is good for sunny afternoons and evening recreation, if you know what I mean, ha ha, and Soi 11 is a great party street and an overall good place to set up headquarters in Bangkok. Fraser one bedroom suites are usually priced between $90 and $105 depending on demand so, all things considered, I think the Fraser Suites Hotel is a good value at the high end. There are good less expensive options on Soi 11 as well, like the President Palace.
Although I really like the night life on Soi 11, I only booked 8 of my 19 days in BKK at the Fraser. I like to change neighborhoods and locations when I stay in BKK for longer than 10 days. This keeps things fresh. It is surprising how a small change in location from say Soi 11 to Soi 23 really makes a difference in what I do and where I go.
After checking in, I took care of a few necessities right off the bat like buying a local Thai sim card at a nearby 7/11 and stocking up on soda, juice, beer, Listerine, etc. At the Villa Market a block down from the Fraser. Because of my headache and lack of sleep last night, I did not do too much else today and just kind of lounged around.
While at the Vila Market, I took a stroll down the Ambassador Hotel Arcade where there are a dozen or so small naughty massage shops. The restaurant's goal to supposedly preserve traditional Thai Royal Court cuisine. I don't know what they mean by traditional Royal Thai cooking, because none of the dishes we ordered tasted like the Thai food I am used to or that I am sure M is used to. You guys are getting too intellectual on me. 555. Maybe it is partially my own fault for using sloppy imprecise language. All I am saying is I prefer Go Go girls that are not in a hurry to get back to their bars. My observation is that the hot seasons are hotter than when I moved here 15 years ago, but rainy seasons are milder (which is nice). Last cool season was brilliant. Best I have experienced. Even a bit chilled riding the motorbike some nights. However, the three cool seasons before were non-existent. But if we had San Diego weather here there would be twice as many people.
