If we're going to reference what upper class Thais spend at G-Clubs and soapies, it's only fair to compare them to what an upper class farang spends on women while visiting Thailand. Would anyone care to claim it's less than 5000 in a night? I doubt it.

I would venture the visitors from the regional asian countries [yes, including Japan and Korea] spend more than the farangs [yes, the Yanks, the Nobs and others].

The majority of customers I see there are Thai. For every Farang there is 10 Thai customers.

From 1983 to about 2005, I regularly visited LOS . Average 3 or 4 visits to BKK per year. And always go out with my local Thai friends to the Soapy MP.

You are absolutely on the ball. The percentage of locals to farangs is overwhelming. And more often than not, whereas farang picks from fishbowl, most locals take the sideliners. Patpong, Nana and Soi Cowboy rely on farangs and overseas visitors but the rest of the p4p relies primarily on locals. It's not even close!

Nataree, a popular massage place. It is known for having young Thai girls with white skin. The girls start at 1800-2000 for one pop in the fish bowl and 2200-3600 for the sideline girls.

The majority of customers I see there are Thai. For every Farang there is 10 Thai customers. They are drinking and usually spending money like crazy on the sideline girls, the more expensive ones. The building beside the Nataree complex is a high end massage for Thai men. I frequently see expensive cars, men in suits entering and exiting. One day I popped in and was able to talk with the popa son. He said they normally don't let Farang in but they will make exceptions if they are dressed well. He commented most Farangs try to come in with shorts, t shirts, and sandals LOL. I think this holds true for most Thai places don't let foreigners in very often. A perfect example is our friend here Gentleboner. Always complaining about prices. Thais will spend a lot more for quality then most Farangs. What about the G clubs? Thais will spend 3-5000Baht just to sit and drink with a girl for the evening, and then maybe more to take her home after. Many members complain on here about prices, do you think the Thais have a forum like this? If they do do you think they complain about high prices? Of course not. If they see a girl they like then they pay whatever it takes. It is common sense. Whatever your budget is you go to a place that is within that budget. Why make yourself look cheap by going to a high end place and offering below the market price there? Yes, this is the classic upcountry "song" = no-frills brothel. Normally not quite indentured labour, but not far off it. They were usually about B50 when I was starting out, which seemed quite wonderful for a guy who was young, horny, and poor. But eventually they got depressing. The girls are young and, as you say, they can be remarkably pretty. But not surprisingly they generally seem like a pretty unhappy lot. soi cowboy has full nudity in several a-gogos such as suzie wong. in between the "bangkok shuffle" line-up shows they have choreographed shows (oil massage, body painting, fake-lesbian show, .) and some "pussy" shows with girls pulling flowers or ribbons out of their pussies. nothing really extreme however.

I'd be willing to bet the blue collar / lower class Thais alone spend more baht than the falangs. Some of those Thai long haul drivers get high on yaba not only to stay awake, but to have enough time to make a deposit at the brothel on route to their destination.

A far more compelling argument is what smells worse, a Thai construction worker who just worked a 10 hour shift, or an Indian man who just took a shower.

Lets look at the average massage parlour (nation wide) prices that services the average thai guy. A run of the mill fuck will cost a Thai somewhere between 1200-2000 for a ST 2 hour fuck. Now compare that with the average amount a foreinger spends in a touristy area (excluding drinks) : barfine 600 + 1500/2000 ST =2100/2600. Or maybe a beer bar; barfine 300 + 1000 =1300. Who spends more?

I would agree with your point, however as stated by Fon Tok, there are far more Thai men "partaking" then Farang, so the total spend is much higher. Also, I would sau the spend in G-Clubs is far more, and the money they tend to spend at regular clubs trying to impress "good girls" is up there as well. Added together way more than the total spent by us foreign devils.

Cowboy, Nana, Patpong are very small. Pattaya is spread out, but mongers are a small percentage of the visitors these days. Mongers that prefer to go there are either keen golfers, or members of the "Cheap Charles" species. That leaves Samui, Patong, Chiang Mai, and a few other isolated locales that have services for tourists.

Compared to what? Maybe XXX thousand mongering foreigners, (farang, asian, black, middle eastern, indian) , who come here for a week, or two, mainly in high season. Many of them are older and only "play" every other day, or so, if at all!
