I have been there a couple of times and the massage is decent. The selection of girls is pretty good. Only problem (for some) is that the girls are reluctant to give more than a HJ or BJ in the shop. Overall, I have enjoyed my sessions there and I will return.

I have been explained several times by a number of Rainbow(s), Shark and Baccara girls that their management has a strict policy concerning their rates and that the senior ladies actually brainwash the newcomers.

Correct. It is very difficult to go below the 2000/4000 threshold in the bars you mentioned and the same goes for the best NEP bars such as the Rainbows. In fact these prices are kind of imposed by the establishments through the mamasans and the older ladies. In other words, someone else, a third party, not happy enough to be paid the barfine, decides how much I have to give to my chick to bang her or even just to sleep with her (yes, sure, LOL). Some bars, I was told, go further in this and even check if the girls actually obtained the correct amount, go figure.

Who gains from this practice? For sure not the punters who are confronted with a kind of cartel. The girls? IMHO no, because the real stunners (10, 15%?) get regularly barfined while the others especially in the low season cannot really compete by lowering their requests. Thai's are greedy, they also negotiate. Therefore its quite common for them to quote high prices and then you negotiate down. If you are unwilling to negotiate you will always pay a higher amount than others.

Yes, a lot of it comes down to how handsome you are, if you can speak Thai, if you are a far old git etc....... and this does have a bearing on price. From my experience ST/LT prices are very dependent on the specific lady in question -- some ask for outrageous LT prices, especially early in the night because they often are able to score 2-3 STs; but if they're free late in the night esp on a weeknight you can get a great deal.

I've paid 3000 LT in Shark several times and didn't have trouble negotiating that. In fact, a couple times this year with some real beauties I never discussed price and handed them a $100 USD bill the next morning and they were quite pleased (maybe that has changed slightly now given the baht's increasing strength vs the dollar!).

My guess is that expectations at Baccara are higher given the Japanese clientele and their willingness to be more price inelastic.

I have been too busy in China lately but I did
