I'm scheduled for Thailand for 3 weeks, was thinking mostly BKK and Pattaya. But recent posts have been saying a lot of the 'talent' is gone. Also, I'm approaching 50 and not exactly thin any more-last trip I definitely got a good number of rejects, esp for LT and esp w/the top of the crop. Quite a few girls (in both Thailand and Germany) think I'm Arab/Iranian and apparently don't like folks from that part of the world.

Also, Pattaya even in good times is at least 50% older ladies, mothers, not exactly the male fantasy.

Seriously considering cancelling the trip.

I do see people mention other regions, but don't know any of them (except a little about Phuket, never been there tho). Are there other regions worth going to? Rent a car? 1 week BKK, 1 week Pattaya, where else 1 other week?

I admit that I did come off a little cynical, but I wanted to make a point and I think a harsh reminder is needed for nearly everyone once in awhile. I have also recently finished reading Private Dancer, which Stickman assures me is the most accurate portrayal of the bargirl scene out there. If you haven't read it, I suggest that you do, it is quite the eye-opener.

I also have to admit that when it comes down to it, I can actually be a bit of a softie. I treat the girls with respect and I am kind to them, hell, I've even spent 50 baht on getting a girl something to eat or drink on the way to the hotel! I do my research before going to SEA and I pay them what I deem to be the fair rate at the time, I do not overpay, at least in my mind, and I have never had any complaints from the girls. If I think they want too much (too mut), I generally walk. I don't want to take a pissed off bg back to my loom, if she thinks I am a Cheap Charlie, I'm guessing the service is going to be pretty bad.

Your post was directly on target. Although we all sometimes click with providers attempting to take the relationship anywhere beyond client/hooker or towards home is both futile and expensive.

I find that by treating the girls in a nice manner with humor makes for good current and future sessions. But that is the extent of it.

I am not sure that you will enjoy the P4P scene more elsewhere in Thailand than in Bangkok or Pattaya... Even if I also believe that the situation is not as good in those two cities than in the past, they still are (IMHO) the best places for our favorite hobby in Thailand (at least for the mongers who don't speak some Thai) and great talents may be found here, even if they are (proportionally) less numerous than a few years ago. The prices are higher nowadays (especially in Bangkok), and more and more unattractive (IMHO) women are trying their luck on the P4P market (especially in Pattaya), so, the real cute ones are becoming a small minority.

But the local market in Phuket, Koh Samui or Chiang Mai (for instance) is not better. Prices are (on average) higher than in Pattaya (but a bit lower than in Bangkok usually), you won't have the same variety of choice and your options will be less numerous (smaller P4P markets).

I would not recommend the Isan region if you don't speak at least some basic Thai (or a bit of the local dialect which is very similar to the Lao language) and even if you do, you might be disappointed there, as the local scene can not compare to the P4P market in touristic places. I have great fun here, mostly in the local brothels and with certain freelancers (even if I am far than being fluent in Thai), but I really dislike the local Farang-orientated venues (not numerous anyway in these areas) and I am the first to admit that the local talent is not very easy to spot in Northeastern Thailand (especially when you favor the quality of service over the beauty of the provider).

You need some time and patience in Isan (you'll have to make many tries and errors before finding a real gem). At least, P4P is (on average, once again!) much cheaper in Northeastern Thailand than in Bangkok and Pattaya. Girls are (IMHO) more beautiful, they are younger too, but most of the time, not much experienced, they don't speak more than a few words in English (if any) and many (at least at first) will refuse to perform certain things that are (almost) the norm (for instance, a BBBJ) in Farang-oriented destinations.

About the LT "rejections" that you encounter with the most beautiful girls, you should not take it personally as it is clearly a general tendency nowadays. Often, the standard price for a LT session is about twice the ST going rate. The cutest ones would (usually) rather do several ST sessions (more than two) than only one LT: they earn more money this way. Moreover, the most beautiful girls usually have a Thai boyfriend who want them at home for the night (even late).

If I were you, I would stick to Pattaya and Bangkok (for instance, two weeks in Pattaya, one in Bangkok) as it is yet your best bet as a foreigner to get laid and be (usually very well) taken care of easily with almost no hassles if you don't speak the local dialects.

Same here. These girls, many of them, live unhappy lives. I do my best to be half decent to them. Maybe that makes me a sucker but I don't let any of them take advantage of me. I honestly don't know if this is a troll or not, but I'll take the post at face value and try to give an honest answer.

Well, it's not abnormal and it happens quite a lot that a bargirl (bg) will keep in contact with you once you leave Thailand. There is generally only one reason why she wants to stay in contact with you, you've got money and she wants it!

The scenario can play out in many ways, here are some to mull over:

1) She wants to stay on your radar in case you come back to Thailand, hoping that you will use her "services" again and often. Why is that you may ask? It's because she wants your money. To be honest, I have some regulars who email me, I have a mongering email address, once in awhile to say hi and to stay on my radar, they haven't asked for $$, as yet. I think they know better. I actually find their emails quite amusing and harmless.

2) Now this scenario is a little more serious. Eventually, you may get requests for money due to some emergency, her baby/parents are sick and she needs cash to get them medicine or medical care. It could be anything really, work is slow and she needs help with her rent, blah, blah, blah. She will most likely add that if you care about her you will send her the money. Don't believe a word of it, she is lying. Why would she lie, you ask? It's because she wants your money!

3) She may soon tell you that she loves you and that she doesn't want to go with any other man, Thai or Farang, and that she wants to leave the bar and go home to her village and that she will wait for you. Then she will say, "Teerak, if I leave the bar, I will not have enough money to live and take care of me, my baby and my family so you will have to send me money (insert amount here) every month. She may not be so eloquent, but you get my drift. Believe me, if you start sending her money here is what will really happen, she will not go back to her village, she will stay in BKK and keep on working at the gogo's. She will probably leave Tilac and move to another gogo, just in case you send friends to Tilac to check if she is there. Most of the money will go to her Thai boyfriend. Remember she is lying, because she wants your money!

4) Now here is the big one, the holy grail of bg's. She is hoping that you have believed her lies and are now convinced that she loves you. You have fallen for scenarios #2 & #3. You believe that you are both in love, maybe you've even made some trips back to Thailand to visit her. She's taken you to her village and you've met her family, etc, etc. Everything is great! What is the holy grail of bg's you ask? It is that you will marry her, so then she can really get down to business and milk you like a buffalo for every penny that you have. There are many ways she can do this, some of these are: 1) She will convince you to buy land in Thailand and then to build a beautiful house on that land, in her name of course, because remember you are not Thai and you cannot own land in Thailand; 2) Request a ridiculous amount of sin sot (dowry) to be paid to her family before you can get married, I suggest you look up sin sot by the way; 3) Move back to your homeland with you and after she gets her residency or citizenship there, she may accuse you of abuse and soak you in the divorce. These are but a few of the ways she may get your money, I encourage other members here to post some others for our friends edification. Remember, she is lying, because she wants your money!
