I started our my trip in Pattaya, and came back to BKK for a few days before leaving. Here's a summary of what I found:

I stayed in the Majestic Suites. Good hotel, well located right on the corner of Napa Plaza, walking distance to Soi Cowboy, and right by the Nana Skytrain station, so from there you can get around the city easily.

A lot of this may be a repeat of the basics, so I'll try to move past that stuff quickly:

Nana Plaza. Some beer gardens, bunch of gogo's and more lady boys as the evening wears on. My favorite Gogo's were the one on the ground floor on the right hand side, all the way at the back, and the one on the top floor on the left as you get up the stairs. This last one had very pretty girls, but a very pushy mamasan, who I had to tell to bugger off several times. Picked up cute 18/19 year old girls from here. Barfine's were 600 and girls were asking for 2k short time, my friends and I had mixed success getting them down from there. Depending on time of night, chemistry etc. 1. 5k seemed their low ball offer. They pushed for ST, but if you can get them drunk or they like you and they sleep over, then you're golden for LT. One girl I took from here was a 9. 5+, 84lbs of 18 year old perfection. Obviously not the best lay, but she did try. She kept asking me to barfine her and take her to a club the next day, but I'm a butterfly, so nope.

Opposite NEP is Angels disco, which is ok for freelancers, I didn't go there this time around though. Lots of FL girls standing around late at night. 12. 2am or later.

Soapy Massage. Went to Angie's because it was close. Its a 5 minute walk from my hotel, so a nice way to start the day. 1, 700 for the fishbowl girls, 2, 500 for the hotter ones. I took a hottie, because I'm vain like that. For your money you get around 75 minutes of fun in the tub with lots of foam, stroking, cleaning, tit wank leading up to a BBBJCIM, a quick shower and then an average massage before another BBBJ leading to CFS. My girl, number 25 maybe (big cans) would not do anal, but the mamasan was helpful in pointing out those that do.

Nataree is the other one I know and recommend. Seems to cater more to asian tourists, but was recommended by a Caucasian I know living here. 2-3k depending on which girl you get.

I tipped 500 at Angie's and my friend 1k at Nataree (better service?).

Soi Cowboy. A 25 minute walk from the hotel, or 1 stop on the skytrain. 28 or so Gogo's and beer bars. My recommended bars:

Baccara. Just being discussed in the forums. I know this one well after my friends and I spent over 20k in there over a few nights. Downstairs the girls keep their shirts on, but upstairs there's a rotation to topless. There's also a glass ceiling with the girls above dancing on the glass. They wear short skirts and no panties, so if you stare long enough you get a Basic Instinct moment. Lots of Japanese and Korean guys there. A ton of women in the place any any one time, 75-100 as a guess, between both floors. Some very pretty girls, a few silicon enhancements and some nice young-uns. Ringing the bell is 2, 200, so limit how many times you do that. Its loud, I like the music and the girls are fun. The mamasan is also very nice and helpful. The girls are not supposed to negotiate on rates here 2k ST, 4k LT and 600 BF. As above, if the girl is tired or wasted and passes out she'll stay overnight with you for a ST fee. I had a decent time with #57 there. I was there a second night, must have been slower, as one girl suggested that her and 4 of her closest friends all head back to my hotel room together (if only I had the cash). Final note on this place, the girls wear the Thai University Uniform, which is amazing, so if for no other reason than seeing what looks like when 20 Thai students whip their titties out right in front of you, this place is worth a look.

Sharks. Some exceptional looking women, although I was growing tired of banging 9's and higher, and wanted a girl who'd work harder for her money, so moved on.

Long Gun. Best for its shows. If you don't go to Patpong and want to see a show this one has the vag smoking, trumpet playing and dart shooting antics amongst others. Sadly no goldfish (anyone know where I can get that?). There's also a decent cowboy dance show where the girls do impressive pole dancing moves and then slap their thigh high boots onto the ground as they come crashing down. The girl who does the vag tricks is clearly much less hot. This is a good warm up as there's zero hassle from the staff.

Deja Vu. I staggered in here late one night. A bunch of the girls cannot be barfined, and you can see them by their different outfits. However, with some smooth talking, and for the right 'donation' you can often get them to come see you after they finish work. There's one girl there, she dances on stage in black panties and a red tank top with a body to die for. 10/10. No idea what her name is, but I'd someone try her. By the time I saw her I was on my way out with another BF, so other than to run in, say Hi, ask the hottie's name, forget it and get yelled at by my BF, I wasn't able to maximize the value of that situation well.

Afterschool. Generally not so attractive girls, but after 5 minutes they'll suggest the Naughty Boy corner where you can get a HJ, or blown if you are lucky.

Toy. Similar to the above, but even less attractive women. While my friend was getting blown in Afterschool, I went here and was mobbed by three ladies, who started jerking me off. BJ not allowed at the moment apparently. They were hoovering down the ladies drinks and I was sat damn close to some guy, so despite a mouthful of tit and each hand up a pussy and three hands working me I realized that this was going to get pricey. So I grabbed the hottest one and took her upstairs to their ST room. Room was 250bt, girl was 400 (so cheap!). She was a 6, older than me (I'm 31), but didn't look it. The prettiest of the three, for sure. I tipped the other girls 200bt each and they were very happy with that. Upstairs and quick shower, before a BBBJ, CFS, and then CIM ("no eat! "). As I walked down 2 new girls I'd not seen suggested me head back up and I wouldn't have to pay another room fee! I declined and moseyed on.

Jungle Jims, Moonshine Joint, Fannys. Same MO as Toy bar.

Rio. Similar to Deja Vu, in that there are several different uniforms. I took a non-barfine-able girl home by meeting her after work. She stayed until midday the next day and I left her 2k in her jeans. She never asked for money.

Other. Eden was a place I meant to go visit, but didn't have the time. Or more rather, I did go there, but was drained from a previous encounter so didn't partake. I did meet and say Hello, to the owner and saw the girls. This is somewhere I do really want to stop by on a future trip, for what I hear will be the ultimate PSE.

Legit Massage. I had a few of these, always choosing what looked to be legit places, with older women, and have not yet found one where anal massaging and a little light stroking didn't precede the lady suggesting a BJ or more. For 300bt you get a good massage and a little titillation works wonders in building anticipation for whatever's next on the menu.

All in all a great trip. Too many beers. Too many bell rings and too much money spent. Time to start saving for the next one.

I was in a pool hall on Soi 11 the other night, seemed like a classy place with a band and nice tables. Pretty girls helping us rack the balls and get us drinks. i've visited soi cowboy (sc) several times the last two months and i just want to give an overview and my personal ratings of various bars. there are 5 main parameters that i review and give rates: cheerfulness of the girls (for me the most important aspect in a go-go bar that you want to spend a couple of hours), attractiveness of the girls, appearance of the bar, shows and nudity; i rate each parameter from 1 (worst) to 10 (best) except for nudity which i rate with 0 for no nudity, 1 for some (including skirts without underwear), 2 for topless and 3 for full nudity.

i am not giving any rate on the price of the drinks because to me it is almost the same. there is a variation from 130 to 150 baht for a drink (ecxept happy hours were drinks can go down to 60-75) but i really don't remember the various prices and i do not thing that this variation makes a big difference. regarding the lady drinks there is also some variation but not very big and in cases that there are some grey areas i try to spot them in my overall comments.

i do not give also any rate regarding the experience with the girl once you barfine her. my objective is to review the bars as a place that you can spend a couple of hours and not the girls. nevertheless my very short experience in bangkok has taught me something: the quality of the experience with the girl does not depend on the bar (or the mp) it depends entirely on the girl. the bar might help you though to establish a bond with the girl, a thing that can make both you and the girl more relaxed and “in love”.

finally i do not include basic information on location in the soi because i trust that a very simple google search will reveal even to the less experienced a good amount of information on basic issues. here it goes (bar's are refereed in alphabetical order):


afterskool:
small bar with 8-10 girls. basic setting with “aggressive” girls that try to sell you drinks. the bar has a “naughty corner” where hj is offered (don't know the price, i've never tried). in the second of my visits there one girl was offering bj in the “corner” but i didn't opt for.

overall comment: i've been only twice there and it is not one of my favourites. the atmosphere is a bit depressing and the girls among the less attractive in the sc. the lady drinks (coke) cost only 90 baht.


apache:
another small bar with 5-8 girls. i've been there only once and i left even without finishing my drink. girls are dancing nude on the bar but that's all you get there.

overall comment: the one and only time i visited the bar was totally empty (and that was a night where all other bars i visited were almost full). the girls are really bored and the place was depressing.


baccara:
i thing this is one of the biggest bar in sc or at least the decoration is very clever and it seems quite big. tons of girls 50+ and extremely loud music, unpleasant for my taste. a bit aggressive girls but nothing offensive. no shows (at least in my one and short visit) and slightly more expensive lady drinks (tequilas). in my single visit to baccara the places was packed and i stayed there briefly mainly because of the very loud music.

a rather small bar with a typical set up. i've been twice there and one night i found about 20 girls while another only 10-12. no shows, just dancing of the girls in 2-3 shifts.

overall comment: nothing special and one serious flaw: in my second visit i spotted a clearly ****d girl there and that's a reason of not repeating a visit.


lucky star:
well, this is the right place if you want to enjoy the shows. the second of my top three favourites in the sc mainly because of the shows and the fact that the girls are the less aggressive there. the place is usually packed!

overall comment: a place not to be missed from the one that wants to enjoy good shows. most of the dancers though do have an attitude and behave as big stars.


midnite:
despite some negative comments in other forums i found the bar very good. in my single visit in this average to big size bar i found 25+ girls, dancing, performing, and giving lap dances to customers. the night i was there one girl became very aggressive and attacked a customer. i'll not describe the entire story but i think that the customer deserved this kind of behaviour; yes we pay the girl's drink and we expect some intimacy but the guy was trying to fuck her on his table. i don't approve this kind of behaviour. the girl was also a “wild” species and things went wrong.

overall comment: my rating might not be objective because i've been there only once but it definitely worth a visit and i'll go again. it might become the thirs one on my “top three bars” in sc (i am still looking for the third one). i do have the suspicion (but i am not sure because i' was in my 7th beer when i visited) that i spotted some ladyboys there and i might also bought a drink to one of them!


rawhide:
average to big bar, with fluorescent painting in the ceiling. good shows and very beautiful girls. the night i went there it was really packed and they put me in the corner where girls are standing when they are not dancing. interesting experience but limited point of view in the stage. girls are not aggressive also there.

overall comment: an ok bar with the quality of the girls being it's main advantage. i could have given 9 to the quality of the girls but the average is down to 8 because there were a couple of really non attractive and old girls among the beauties.


seebas:
this is a bar of an average size. i've been there 4 times the last 3 months and i've spotted various number of girls each night ranging from 10 to 25+. one of the things i like in this bar is the “ping pong balls”. you buy 5 for 100 baht and you through them to the girl which try to catch them (i think they get 10 baht for every ball). if you have some money to spend take 25 balls and through them all together in the dancing girls! they get crazy. every time i2ve been in seebas there was an almost continuing show ranging from girls in body paint dancing, to live lesbian show (not their best), a man playing with flames, a mock up of a soapy massage (with loooot of foam!) and “wild” girls in short jeans and boots dancing in the waves of rock.

overall comment: one of my top three favourites in sc that hasn't disappointed me ever. given the good experience i've had there with almost all the girls that i bought some drinks for them, i consider it number one if you want to spend a relaxing night in a friendly environment.

this is a large bar with a big number of girls maybe more than 40. there is a slightly different set up from the other bars in sc (no central stage) and there are no shows there. the girls are attractive and spend quite a good amount of time with you when you buy them drinks.

overall comment: i consider tillac as an appetizer, the bar “to start a long night” in sc. things seems to happen quickly there and most of the customers seems that they are there to bar fine a girl. it is a good option to start with tillac, have your first drink, see some nice girls and observe some pussies under the (not so) mini skirts. if you get hot you pick up your favourite star; if no you continue to the next bar to feed your appetite!



to wrap up: lucky star, and seebas are my two favourites so far and the midnite has good chances to become another favourite. afterskool and apach do not worth a second visit imho. tillac is a nice place to start with and maybe find very good quality of girls, while rawhide another good place with nice shows and beautiful girls. baccara and dollhouse are nothing special and dolhouse might be a no-no if it systematically has ****d girls.

of course ymmv but i just wanted to share my review with you.

i had a long, long day on sunday. i had the encounter with the drunk leggy girl on sat night at spicy, and i had to work all day sunday, starting at 9am. so i was in a deathly state all day. i got back to the hotel, napped for a few hours, grabbed some dinner at that 24 hour place near the corner of soi 11 and sukhumvit, and sauntered over to climax. by now it was late, something like 1am.

it took me by surprise, and it took several seconds for me to even recognize what he said to me, by which time i was well past him. and so i could not even express my indignation. but i get that a lot - are you indian? namaste! are you arab? salaam alaikum! are you mexican? hola! i'm used to it, but it still kinda irks me. must be like being korean or chinese or some kind of other asian and everyone says konnichi waa to you.

so i get in to climax at 1:15am, pay the 300b cover (which gets you one free drink). at this point, i remember all the reports on this board which suggest the cops are cracking down, so they close early. i asked the girl what time they close today (sunday), and she said 5am. no ifs, ands or buts, just a flat answer. so i guess the reports of their demise have been greatly exaggerated.

i walk in and the place is just hopping! it is not packed shoulder-to-shoulder, but it sure ain't empty. the ladies on display were definitely choice grade. i mean they were all young little things, energetic, smiling, perky, and very enjoyable to look at. i walked in, making eye contact with about a dozen hot little jalapenos along the way. i stopped in the middle of the place and surveyed the landscape. i put on an air of 'this is my kingdom, let me see what is in it'. i felt like charleton heston in one of those movies, either the ten commandments or ben hur, standing there with my chest pumped out, jaw sticking out, looking at everything with a scrutinizing disinterest.

as i scanned the room, two lovely, lovely things just to my left caught my eye. they were both looking straight at me, death stare engaged. jeez, the power of eye contact, it is just ridiculous - my balls don't just tingle when that happens, they positively buzz. so somehow my eyes made contact with all four of theirs at the same time (something i thought was geometrically impossible), and they stayed locked for perhaps 800 milliseconds, which in eye-lock terms is plenty. it says 'i see you, i like you, but i am not desperate enough to keep looking at you, and so i am going to be the one to break eye contact now. but i gave you 800 milliseconds, so you should not be offended, ok beautiful thing?'

so i looked away, about 5 feet to their left, so they were still in my peripheral vision, but so that my eyes were clearly looking elsewhere. and through my peripheral vision, i saw the two girls huddle and giggle. nice. you still got it, you old fart.

i stood there and decided tonight was for teasing, for laying the groundwork for future endeavors. i was exhausted, and really, really needed to sleep (i had work the next morning at 9am). deciding not to pick up a girl on a particular night is immensely liberating. it's like a great pressure has been eased and you can play around a little.

so here's what i did. i pulled out my phone and started to fiddle with it, making it seem like i was really focused on whatever the hell was on that phone. truth be told, there was nothing there, i was just trying to give the girls the impression that lots of people are texting me, and i am considerate enough to text them back, even when i am in the middle of a dance floor at a club called climax.

i put my phone away with a great show of effort, and then i turned slowly to look directly at them again. this time, my eyes locked with only one of them, the other happened to be looking away. i gave her 1200 milliseconds this time, and then broke it off and walked in the opposite direction.

i walked around the club (which is organized in a circle around the djs booth). i walked back past the restrooms, surveying the talent as i went, and around towards the door again. i learned this tactic from this one time when i went on safari in africa and stood out in the rain for four hours from midnight to 4am as i watched a lioness circle around a pond to come up behind an antelope. the plan ultimately failed (the antelope sprung away with plenty of time to spare), but the patience and stealthiness of the move was something to admire.

so i circled around them and came up behind them. i stood behind them with a couple of other people between me and them, just waiting for one of them to look. sure enough, the other girl (who i had missed upon my departure) sees me, and she breaks a little smile. i smile back, just a tinge, and nod my head a little. she does a little hand wave, like 'hiya!', and this time i smile more fully.

i walked over and struck up the conversation. what's your name? where you from? you like the music? blah blah blah. i spoke to both girls, going from one to the next. then, after five minutes, i told them that i had to leave. they seemed very surprised. i said i work in the morning, but i will see them some other time. they agreed. no offers were made (five minutes is not enough time), and we left it at that.

here's what this does. it sets me up for a sure thing the next time i bump into any one of them. i need to remember their faces though, or else it could all backfire on me. i learned this in july when a super, super hot girl that i met told me that she had been watching me in spice club (as it had been called back then) for more than a week, and she saw me go with two girls, but she saw me turn three away. she liked that. it said i had standards, and it said that more girls like me than i like girls, if that's grammatical to you. so my plan here, never before actually tested mind you, is to see if sowing the seeds today will give me a better harvest tomorrow.

so i left at around 3am. as i walked home, i bumped into a girl who i had rather acrimoniously dumped in the summer. luckily she was with two other guys and a girl, and so she couldn't kick me in the nuts the way i know she wanted to. they were coming from bed supper club, i guess (although, come to think of it, they close at 2am). anyway, this girl is not a working girl per se, but she spends her nights doing various guys for cash. but she doesn't need the cash since her parents give her plenty of money. so it's kind of a fun thing for her. my point in telling you this is that it is a very small community, and once you have been around the block a couple of times, you have probably got to look to other pastures. i may be approaching that point. actually, today i bumped into another such girl on the skytrain. dude, that's embarrassing.

thanks to everyone for their positive words, I appreciate it. I enjoy writing reports which have some flavor and convey the real sense of what I am feeling. It's hard, but it's good to get feedback suggesting I am at least coming close. Some people can't stand my style of writing (too long winded, they just want the facts), and to those, I apologize. Not that I will change how I write.

So this is a quick note, but I will post a longer report on last night's trip to Climax a little later.

The note is this: at 8:30am on a Monday morning, on my way to work after having had less than 3 hours of sleep that night, and 2 hours of sleep the night before that (read: total zombie state), I decided I really needed to drop by Starbucks. So I walk over to the one on Sukhumvit at Soi 5. the air was very un-Bangkok-like - it was crisp and cool, and very, very clear, making the light sharp and vivid. I really quite enjoyed it this morning. Anyway, as I approached the Starbucks, I saw three working girls standing outside trolling for customers. Mind you, this was 8:30. In the Morning. On a Monday.

Kumbu, thanks for your reports on the club scene. I have only just started exploring that side of BKK, and it's a nice alternative to the go-gos. I haven't been to any of the places you mention, but on my last trip in September I went to RCA (Hollywood) which I really liked. Although it's been around for quite a few years, it has this air of artificial or self-conscious hipness that I don't really dig. Nice exterior though. I'm in my early thirties like yourself, and from what you write in your reports, it sounds like we won't be fighting over the same girl too much of the time. I'll latch onto this to mention that two nights ago I was strolling past Suzie Wong and overheard the place turning "members only" again for a couple of Indian guys ..

Only then did I discover her name. And I ran out of there as quickly as I could.

On a happy note, as I was leaving, I spied out of the corner of my eye, the Indian guy being totally mauled by a frumpy young girl
