Nic Frenchy is in Thailand more often than not -or it would appear so. he knows the ropes. We have no idea what he paid 5000bt for, but for those of us who spend a significant amount of time here in Thailand, that is a lot of money.

I do not know Bumrungrad Hospital personally, but I am aware that it is on a par with Bangkok Pattaya Hospital, where prices are up to 10 times the norm found throughout much of Thailand. My daughter was recently charged 18000bt (insurance paid) for 1 night stay investigating the possibility of swine flu - which it was not! In the Isaan area of thailand a similar stay with similar tests would cost less than 2000bt.

It would be interesting to hear what exactly Nic got for his 5000bt.

Planning my next trip to BKK, I need advice on the freelancers scene outside the usaual p4p hot spots that am familiar with such as NEP, PP, SC or Sukhmvit beer gardens. Correct. Bumrungrad is very expensive. There are plenty excellent hostipal in Bangkok. I had a hernia operation. I have checked cost before I go for the operation.

Bumrungrad thai baht 480.000. (for the room only was around 60.000) Bangkok hospital 280.000.

I went then to the Chinese Hua Chiew considered as the bumrungrad for Chinese cost 52.000. Every thing went well and it was the first time of my life I had a operation.

Health check the normal one (I don't want to go in details here) is around 2000. A full check of your body with cell and t cell.5000 bumrungrad is for this 15.000.
