So I spent 8 months in Thailand using covid extensions, just left a week ago. I wonder when I can return? I know the official rule is 6 months out of the year can be spent on tourist visas but my guess is immigration will see all of those covid extensions in my passport and might deny me entry. Anyone here use those covid extensions? Was thinking early next year might be too soon to return. But still might try just to see what happens, have a flight and visa to Vietnam set up so if they deny me entry I can just fly on to Vietnam.

Now I will say this. I was offered many types of visas that would have let me stay (after paying a good amount for them). Volunteer or Student visas were the two most mentioned. But my concern was those visas just weren't legit and when you depart the country (eventually) your going to have every visa scrutinized. And being blacklisted from Thailand isn't something I want to happen.

Phitsinulok is a college town with great food and the train north to Chiang Mai which is fun to use going north. Use the second class train. You see more. No AC though. The train south to BKK is long and grueling. Not worth it. You can fly into Sukhothai for $26 most of the time from DMK.

I have not found sex in either place even though I know it is there. Phitsinulok has the Thai fish bowl places. It also has college girls that will totally approach you when they have been drinking. It is a little fun.

Phits got what Yai and the Phra Buddha Chinnarat. Loaded with Thai tourists and the vendors and markets that cater to them. Farangs get a lot of interest.

You regularly hear that there is not really beautiful girls in the BKK in Nana, Cowboy, Patpong.

I agree with this, any super hotties that appear at one of there places get pretty quickly sniped and taken out of the game.

Beware of the beer bars on Soi 11, especially the PDT bar and the one to the right of it as you face them. Bill padding is a common occurrence in these bars and they prey on drunks for this very reason. Use common sense, check your drinks tickets as you receive them and total up yourself before you let some random low IQ cashier do so. Obviously refuse any offers to take you elsewhere to drink after closing time, you'll most likely end up at clip joint with vastly overpriced everything.

Bill padding like that has happened so rarely to me in Bangkok bars I wrote it off as an ordinary mistake when it happened to me about a month ago in one of those outside Soi 11 beer bars. And I was stone cold sober, drinking only a soda. That's why I didn't mention it here. I suspect it would happen to me more often if they see me tossing back 3-4 beers at a stop.

I don't remember which bar it was and I have not returned there since. But it fit your description of those two side-by-side bars.

I only had my one drink and bought 2 Lady Drinks. The bill they handed me was for 750 baht! Should have been less than 500 baht. I got it corrected and moved on.

Awesome property and you are is a good location for anything you want. About a 10 min walk to Pat Pong, even closer to the Lumphini MRT station at the park. Take that to Asoke and your near Soi Cowboy. But you might not need to leave the hotel. The sky bar at the hotel is one of the best and most popular in the city. You'll probably find a nice high end freelancer right there.

I totally agree with you! Anyway I never drink alcohol because I don't like. I drink only orange juice. But each time, I go in a bar or a gogo, I always ask the price of a lady drink! And when they give me the bill for the first lady drink I always look the ticket. Very often, I want to pay directly after the first drink and the mamasan doesn't like that usually. But I don't care, usually I buy 1 or 2 lady drinks if I like the girl and then I decide if I go my hotel with her or not!

As stated previously, the Nana Plaza area is not far from Lumpini Park. Although I have walked from Soi 4/ Soi Nana to Lumpini Park many times in only 25 minutes or so, it is probably too far to walk for most for the purpose of mongering. And a walk from the far side of the park relative to Nana Plaza could take as long as 45 minutes.

However, it is easily accessible by taxi. Depending on which side of the park your hotel is located, it might take 20-30 minutes or even a bit more to get to Nana Plaza by car taxi during higher traffic times and only 10-15 minutes by motorcycle taxi almost any time.

Also depending on the location of your hotel relative to the park, the main entrance to Lumpini Park at the corner of Rama 4 and Ratchadamri Road is easy walking distance (maybe 10 minutes at a leisurely pace) to the Thanaya Road, Patpong 1 and 2 bar area as well as the BTS and MRT train stations where you can ride a low cost train to either Nana Plaza (by BTS) or Soi Cowboy (by MRT) in less than 15 minutes.
