Guys,

Have RTTF but haven't found specifics on whether BKK has strip clubs like in Canada or the US. Good clubs where you hot babes are dancing and you can either go for a lap dance or get a champagne room with them for an hour where a lot goes on (of course, depending on the club).

Let me qualify. I'm not always in the mood for going all the way and would love to run through half a dozen of the beauties there in a couple of hours feeling them up in a strip club type of situation. Obviously I've got a thing for lap dances!

This is also, in my experience, a geat way to start an evening and then get on to a LT with one of them or one of the many others available.

Any ideas/ recommendations?

So far I've been one of those guys who overpays and tends to get stuck with just one girl for each trip. On the first trip I made the mistake of paying 4000 LT plus the bar fine for the same girl over a three day trip who was great in bed but ended up costing a lot more than I probably should have paid.

Dude! The one's related to the other (pay to clinginess), as you're probably seeing. U gotta find the going rate and be willing to be called a Cheap Charlie, even if you really aren't (the real Cheap Charlies are the ones using door-knockers or bargaining rates well below the going rate at 3 a.m.). Don't ruin it for the rest of us.

BTW, I think Thai girls can be great fun and all that, but I give the Philippines clear advantage in the GFE area. Many more multi-day keepers, and for less money.

FWIW, one way to get some hotel deals is to book over Travelocity or Expedia using some of the promo codes floating around. There's one on a coors box with code NFL50 good through the end of the month for bookings through March that's $50-off-3-days. It's REUSABLE as well and you don't need a physical coupon.

So I broke up 15 hotel nights in BKK and Pattaya into 5 3-day blocks and used the thing 5 times, twice on the Beverly Plaza in Pattaya at $13.80 a day nett for 2 people including breakfast, and the Royal Asia Lodge in BKK at $17.30 a day nett for 2. Plenty of other choices are out there as well if you're not as cheap as me (I know the reviews on both those hotels have been mixed). At the high end the Grand Sukhumvit on soi 6 (former Sofitel, I think) was listing at $65 before discounts.

This is exactly why I haven't been to Nana in months. No nudity. What's the fucking point? If I'm going to be paying 140 baht for a beer, I better be seeing some titties. Nana Plaza is the most disgusting place in Thailand, with the worst kind of tourists. It's like they rounded up the worst of the worst in Pattaya and Bangkok and put them all in one square block. Believe it or not, I find Cowboy much cleaner and more fun, but to each his own.

I remember a first trip to Nana in 1992. Pretty boring then, with no nudity but B35 beers (at B25=$1). ST was B300 and I forget the BF. But back then neither Nana nor Cowboy had any nudity, just some places in Patpong.

Nana hit its peak around 1998-99, when some shows even featured toy DPs. Bars could ride the wave to put drink prices up again and again, but then the show quality crashed with social order but the drink prices stayed (to this day!) You've got niche players like Rainbow as the take-out meat market and Angelwitch doing what they can on shows, but the rest is pretty lame. Cowboy was barely hanging on back when Nana was at its peak and now tables are turned.

Covert Operation.

it's still in the news this morning with pics as well. it's been plastered across thai tv. of course they are over-playing this because it's part and parcel of the extreme shift to the right, rising anti-farang, thailand for thais mind-set. the evil farang are to blame for all of thailand's ills. i actually overheard a discussion about this among thais in the faculty lounge this week. they, of course didn't know that i could understand them.

i have been lurking around this forum for a couple of years and have made two prior visits to bkk. this is my first contribution here. all in all i have had an excellent experience but i have made many mistakes along the way. i'd like to thank everyone on this forum for all the great advice and reports you have provided. right now i'm planning my third visit in about two weeks. true to my handle, i tend to say what the hell and go for it. so far i've been one of those guys who overpays and tends to get stuck with just one girl for each trip. on the first trip i made the mistake of paying 4000 lt plus the bar fine for the same girl over a three day trip who was great in bed but ended up costing a lot more than i probably should have paid. the second trip i went to eden first and then again paid 4000 lt plus bar fine at suzie wong's. the second day i went to the beergarden and ended up with the same massage girl who said she was on holiday for the rest of the trip who didn't ask for any money and only wanted to give great thai massages and f****. she was a real gfe and we ended up going sightseeing taking a river speedboat to the temples and end the evening taking a romantic night time dinner cruise. but then i couldn't get rid of her because she had made up her mind she was going to stay with me until i left to catch my plane. after the third day i tried to get rid of her but she just wouldn't hear of leaving no matter what i said and i didn't want to throw her out. but i really wanted to try someone new by this time. so this time i'm planning on sticking with the mp’s, especially tulips and eden once again. this time i would like to try a take-out from eden if possible for at lease one night. i'm planning on only doing st if i find anyone at the go-go bars this time and wondering how well i will be able to negotiate this time. so far i have stayed at the president solarium and the president hotels which are both on soi 11. this time i plan to stay at the livingstone because of all the great recommendations from this forum. i'm looking forward to checking out their sports bar and staff. it's been almost a year since my last trip and during that time i have been trying to learn a little thai from tapes books and cds but it has been very difficult since no one speaks thai where i live. i can't even find some decent thai restaurants in my area. so i am really looking forward to getting a chance to try a little out, even though i know i'm not very good at all. i'm not sure there's any value in posting reports about my last two visits but i will be reporting on this upcoming experience.

i'll let you know how it turns out. any recommendations would be welcome.

i stay at livingstones or lotus novotel when in bk. great spot. lots of bars. some of the bars the girls & mama will hustle you all night for drinks & others are very relaxed. apart from going to eden which is a must, you wont need to leave soi 33. just tell the girl you are on business & leaving the next day & try find another girl or 3 in another bar. there are about 15 on soi 33.

sports bar at livingstones has some nice girls, renoir is excellent, some good lookers, the office also has some great quality. christies has some very good lookers but watch out for mama trying to hustle you for drinks. she is also a serious pool shark.

you will be in monger central staying at livingstones. only downside is if you take a livingstone girl you may get stuck trying to sneak a different one in the next night. that is if you are a softy. maybe take a livingstones girl on the last night.

if you want to get a little variety in the nightclub scene try spazo at novotel siam square - russians, africans & thai wgs , spicy at the ambassador nana.

imho the best mp is utopia. some outstanding girls there. very expensive tho. girlsstart at 3000 baht up to 8000 baht.

Here 2 days on my second trip. General impressions especially in comparison to my last trip 5 years ago:

- the quality in Nana Plaza is pretty low. I saw one "maybe" in 2 nights. The ladyboys are taking over more of the second level. The third level is turning into a ghost town with more places closed than open.

- no nudity at all that I could see in Nana; many places in Soi Cowboy had topless or nude dancers

- the "streaming of the bar girls" after the 2am closing is fun to watch as they all flow past the narrow opening to the plaza. Unfortunately the only nice bodies were all ladyboys (most of whom are at least 6 inches taller than the ladies).

- Soi Cowboy was definitely better than Nana last night with a few "possibles". The guy next to me in the Long Bar got nailed in the forehead by a banana "flung" by the pussy gymnast on stage (we were sitting in the last row). He took it well.
