i have been lurking around this forum for a couple of years and have made two prior visits to bkk. this is my first contribution here. all in all i have had an excellent experience but i have made many mistakes along the way. i'd like to thank everyone on this forum for all the great advice and reports you have provided. right now i'm planning my third visit in about two weeks. true to my handle, i tend to say what the hell and go for it. so far i've been one of those guys who overpays and tends to get stuck with just one girl for each trip. on the first trip i made the mistake of paying 4000 lt plus the bar fine for the same girl over a three day trip who was great in bed but ended up costing a lot more than i probably should have paid. the second trip i went to eden first and then again paid 4000 lt plus bar fine at suzie wong's. the second day i went to the beergarden and ended up with the same massage girl who said she was on holiday for the rest of the trip who didn't ask for any money and only wanted to give great thai massages and f****. she was a real gfe and we ended up going sightseeing taking a river speedboat to the temples and end the evening taking a romantic night time dinner cruise. but then i couldn't get rid of her because she had made up her mind she was going to stay with me until i left to catch my plane. after the third day i tried to get rid of her but she just wouldn't hear of leaving no matter what i said and i didn't want to throw her out. but i really wanted to try someone new by this time. so this time i'm planning on sticking with the mp’s, especially tulips and eden once again. this time i would like to try a take-out from eden if possible for at lease one night. i'm planning on only doing st if i find anyone at the go-go bars this time and wondering how well i will be able to negotiate this time. so far i have stayed at the president solarium and the president hotels which are both on soi 11. this time i plan to stay at the livingstone because of all the great recommendations from this forum. i'm looking forward to checking out their sports bar and staff. it's been almost a year since my last trip and during that time i have been trying to learn a little thai from tapes books and cds but it has been very difficult since no one speaks thai where i live. i can't even find some decent thai restaurants in my area. so i am really looking forward to getting a chance to try a little out, even though i know i'm not very good at all. i'm not sure there's any value in posting reports about my last two visits but i will be reporting on this upcoming experience.

January 30th Bangkok

On my return from Naklua I decided to stop in at Tukcom and pick up a webcam so I could send some e-mail videos to my kids while on travel. I also saw a pair of 9 watt laptop speakers I’ve been looking for but didn’t have the money to pay for, so I returned to my hotel to get the money. One of the hotel guests mentioned that I should buy those things in Bangkok as electronics were less expensive there, and that he and another hotel guest were leaving in just a couple of hours to Bangkok for a night or two. Of course, doing a quick count I realized that the cost of going to Bangkok for a night or two was certainly going to exceed the 600 baht savings I would realize on the purchase of the speakers at Tukcom, but I had been contemplating a side trip there just so I could see what it was about.

We departed about 1:30 pm that afternoon and arrived at the Dynasty Inn Grande about 3:30 pm. The room was 2,400 baht for the night, with a refundable 500 baht deposit. After a quick cleanup we headed out to a restaurant called Bourbon St restaurant on Soi 22. The food was excellent and reminded me of the taste and quality of food you find in New Orleans. We returned to the hotel and grabbed a nap before heading out for the evening. Our intentions were to hit Nana Plaza and finish the night at Soi Cowboy.
Awakening at 8:30 pm I texted the two other guys and found that one of them had decided to stay in but had a regular coming to his room. The other guy texted back that he would meet me downstairs at 9:30 pm. Catching up in the lobby we headed over to Nana.

Of course, this being my first trip to Bangkok, this was my first time to Nana. I have read descriptions of the place on various websites over the past couple of years or so but, for some odd reason, I was under the impression it was inside of a mall type of structure. You access a courtyard type of area wherein there are several beer bars, and around those are situated 3 or 4 floors (don’t remember how many exactly) of various gogo bars. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed as I thought the place was much larger with many more establishments than it actually had. We stopped in to one whose name I don’t remember and had a quick beer before exiting.

Next we stopped in at Angelwitch. There was a show in progress when we entered. I can pretty much take it or leave it, but it was actually kind of nice watching a show rather than watch a bunch of bored girls shuffle back and forth. We stayed for a bit, having a few beers, when a group of girls approached and mounted the stage. I casually glanced around to check out the talent until my eyes froze upon one in particular. She was beautiful, had small tits (could have used slightly more), and the most perfect ass I’ve seen on a Thai lady thus far. I’ve made the point on a few occasions that I prefer more full bodied women. Not fat, but with enough meat on their bones to at least make a sandwich with. And I would have, had it not been for her Miss Prissy attitude that she displayed the whole while we were there, and the fact that she probably wasn’t interested in me one iota. We finished off our drink and paid the tab.

Earlier I was under the impression that we would be going to Soi Cowboy at some point in the night, but my accomplice informed me that it was midnight by now and things were going to be shutting down at 1:00 am, sharp. Rather than trek on over to Cowboy we decided to hit one more bar in the Nana complex. He took me into some small, corner bar that he had been into previously. There wasn’t much going on there, but w sat and had a drink anyway. After a few minutes I stopped a young lady who was fairly attractive but no beauty queen, and asked her if she’d like a drink, deciding that she’d just have to do for tonight. I called over a few of the other girls and bought a round just to get things moving along.

In talking with my girl I learned that she likes to dance and was, in fact, planning to hit a disco later and asked me if I wanted to come along. I’m not much into the discos, especially when I’m being invited along as a way to make sure that somebody pays the bill. Unlike Pattaya, where most everything is concentrated, it’s my understanding that many of the venues in Bangkok are spread out over various parts of the city. When I go out I want to barhop. I don’t want to have to city hop.

Who the hell is paying these prices? Idiot tourists, I guess. I live here, and I refuse to pay more than 1,000 for ST, maybe 1500 if she’s really hot. But I’ve negotiated 1500 for LT in the go-go bars of Soi Cowboy before. However, this time of year it just doesn’t seem possible; the majority of these girls just refuse to negotiate.

Yes, stupid tourists are overpaying! I live in LOS too and I never pay more than 1000 ST anywhere in the whole country. There are still plenty of girls who go for 1000ST in bkk, but it's just more work to find them. Recently a lot of nana plaza girls are willing to do 1000 ST.

Bamboo Bar – This is a club on Soi 1 that’s open late, and many of the bargirls and go-go dancers come here if they haven’t been barfined. Started chatting up this spinner; she was 30 and quite short. Found out she worked at Spice gogo on Cowboy. Chatted her up for awhile and then she told me that she wanted to go with me. Price was 2000 for ST and 4000 for LT. Again, she refused to come down on the price, and when I refused, she took it as an insult: “You don’t like me?” She then started dancing in front of me to try and get me to change my mind. No deal.
