So I took the BTS to Tulip today thanks to a bunch of recommendations. I have been to Annies before so my expectations were a little off.

Both times that I've been there I was given pictures to look at. Neither time have any of the girls I wanted to see from the pictures been available. The first trip I ended up choosing a girl that was a bit chubby for my tastes but it was a great experience. This last time I tried to book Yok from abroad to find that she was only arriving after I'd be hooking up with my TGF. When I got into town and headed over I went downstairs to look at the talent and didn't recognize any of the names from the list. Rose? Melissa? I'm a fan of Soi Cowboy. But agree that it is changing. When I walk into Midnite it is like Norm walking into Cheers. The talent there has been going downhill over the past two years since I first ventured inside. The Mamasan laughs at me because I always choose the same type of lithe girls with tight bodies who don't speak English worth a spit. I really have to figure out how to pick up Thai like Mick.

My problem at Tilacs is that clothed girls are a bit tame, unless they are stunning. I prefer to at least see the tits before taking a bargirl. But I will try it again.

I nearly forgot to mention that Deja Vu looked almost "dead" with very few girls and some other bars have just too few girls to be taken seriously.

Not wanting to believe how poor the bars were in Soi Cowboy on Monday night, I had another look last night.

First to Bacarra (spelling?). Girls on ground floor were all rather ordinary all with the wide noses. Upstairs girls were also not that pretty to my taste even once the tits were exposed. No. 7 was pretty but no tits at all. Time to move on.

The other two mamasans didn't strike me as much as, I guess, Mrs. G. One, she had lighter hair, looked very chic from afar, with a nice body, but I never got a great look at her face.

Mrs G has black hair and slim.
The mamasans have brown hair I believe.
One mamasan has very big tits (assisted?) the other has quite brown skin and a broad nose (not exactly pretty).

P.S. I don't like bar mamasans much in general. Some (not Mrs G) are rather "pushy" trying to organise customers who don't want to be organised. I have never learned anything from mamasans as their interests are biased towards getting drinks and getting girls barfined. I tolerate them. Sometimes meet one that is O.K. to talk to (Taay - ex mamasan of Suzi Wong for example). So maybe its a question of meeting the right one.

I've always felt that the 'hands-on' bars are the real heart and soul of Cowboy (well, along with the previous incarnations of the small friendly go-gos like Five Star and Apache). Toy Bar used to be especially good fun, except that the girls were a whole lot better at extracting my money than I was at getting value for it.

Mammasans couldn't care less. Mammasans/Pappasans would steal the penny's from under a dead man's eyes or try to prevent a girl from being whisked off to a better life in a better country by some fool during the high season. Not true, IMHO. I agree with the previous poster that being nice to the mamasans is often worthwhile. BUT, it all depends on the attitude you bring into the bar. If you walk in reeking of "I know you're out to rip me off, and I've got my spincther clenched" then you're going to get treated badly regardless of how many drinks you buy the mamasan.

But if you're genuinely friendly and treat the mamasans with respect, they can be great allies; steering you towards the better girls, making sure you're taken care of even when the bar is busy (or full of Japanese) and generally making sure you have a good time. Being known as a friend of the mamasan's also means you get treated better in the bar and outside; girls aren't going to risk giving you a bad experience and having you complain to 'your friend'.

And once you get to know them, most mamasans can be a riot to talk to. I've learned more about Bangkok and how to handle young Thai girls from some of these ladies than I've learned on ISG - and that's saying a lot!

It's true that Grace Hotel has been an Arab hangout for decades. But a non-Arab farang is mighty welcome, if it's a quiet night. I was minding my own beer (just reconning because the place is famous and has all these signs prohibiting photos and videos) and a TG began nudging against me. She was kind of pudgy and not that attractive. Who knows, like the film of the old, she might have developed in a dark room. Didn't try.
Anyway, any experienced Bangkok traveler owes ir ro himself to visit Grace at least once.
I noticed the same welcoming attitude in the outdoors Arab bars in Pattaya. I was just scoping various places and stopped by one of these a bit inlland. Arab music was blaring but the place was not crowded. I met this really wild girl in one, but didn't BF her because I thought she was on something. Definitely low class places.

Any decision to sponsor a girl from afar is a dumb decision IMHO.

Now Filipinas I know from everywhere and the ones I knew were faithful as all hell… none were involved in the trade all had good jobs etc. Now girls that were once in the sex trade and a guy trys to “pay” them to fly straight well they get what they deserve.

Bangkok is abundant with foreigners so I don’t why some guys go there and think they have something special to bring to the table than the guys already there and "living there."

i've been a soi cowboy man practically since the start so this is rather depressing. it was after all the place where you always could count on finding nice new girls fresh off the morchit bus.

the only consolation is that the japanese tourist population falls off rapidly outside yearend and other holiday periods, and the girls get a bit hungrier then. but of course even that doesn't assure you decent service once you get one.
