At home in the United States, I get way, way hotter girls than I'm finding in Bangkok. The girls here seem really old and if they are not old they seem really lazy. Your attitude feels negative right now. That's the first thing that must change before you have a good time in Thailand.

After reading your first and second posts, I question if Thailand is the right place for you. Suggest you spend 4 hours reading this website and you will better understand how the Thailand scene works. Bangkok, Pattaya, and Phuket all have different feels. Different parts of those locations feel different. Lower key is at Samui and maybe Hua Hin (I've never visited Hua Hin).

You are in a foreign land. Don’t expect the same things as you have at home.

If you aren't happy with the bar girl quality then you should check out the Thai Friendly website. Plenty of cute, women there that are looking for company. Also, if you are willing to spend a bit more cash (still a lot less than in the USA) check out smooci.com. They list escorts from multiple agencies at prices much less than what they charge at their regular sites.

And if you are doing that well in the USA why spend 24 hours or more to get to Thailand. Myself at Social Security age, with a normal income, the quality (and quantity) of available and "free" women is quite poor. And the P4P quality is horrible unless you are willing to shell out major $$.

Ok. I haven't been checking out the bars. That's my problem too, I suppose. I'm 5 minutes from Soi Cowboy at the Asok stop on the BTS. At home, I'm used to going online, finding crazy hot "freelancers" and meeting them next day. Yes, it costs almost $1000 USD a meet, but the quality is outstanding. I'm finding very few young, hot freelance girls on Thai Friendly. A couple, but the freelancers seem to be old. If not old, they are not attractive. If they are young and attractive, they are very slow to meet. None have made it through the "sales funnel" to meeting yet. A few are looking for real boyfriends and I'm looking at meeting these eventually when they get around to it. Another cultural difference. At home I meet most girls the very next day. Tuje is limited here and girls are dragging it out.

For comparison sake, I have 149 unread messages in my inbox on Thai Friendly and I read most of them. I have many thousands on my home source. To be fair, Thailand is overrated for mongering. It used to be an order of magnitude or two better back back 10-20 years ago, has been on a steady decline, but is still drawing upon some of the old glory. Even given this, you'll find that most punters find Thailand easier and more satisfying than most spots in the western world. If you're a rare exception, just accept it and go where you prefer to be.

I think a key to being happy in Thailand is to accept things as they are, relax, adopt a "mai bpen rai" attitude, explore a bit and enjoy all the small (and not so small) delights that come your way. Having rigid expectations and trying to shoehorn Thais into conforming to your specifications is a recipe for a bad time. You can nudge them slightly sometimes, but if you come with a list of requirements and insist they follow them exactly, you'll be disappointed. This is true of many aspects, from food to sex. Some people are a bit OCD and don't like this, and Thailand is not for them.

In regular life here, it's very much Mai pen Rai for me. I'm thoroughly enjoying all the other aspects of living here this month. It's also a great challenge and fun to learn Thai and figure out the city. I confirm and enjoy the experience along with ups and down. Truthfully, there have been no downs at all. It's been a wonderful place.

For some reason, I've developed a habit of not risking it when it comes to mongering. I've also developed a habit of only the absolute hottest 18-24 year old girls. I'm trying to apply these preferences to Bangkok and it's not working. You're right that maybe I just need to risk it and see what happens. Much like getting on a plane to come here in the first place.

Since I do this in the USA all the time, money isn't really an object. But I also don't want to contribute to any upward pressure ok m rates here by giving too much. So I'm also trying to follow the norms.

Travel down in the afternoon, book into a hotel, then check out the massage shop action into early evening, then eat.

Then hit Gilbis / Banana / Bank bar area around 8 pm, then if still looking hit Laguna at 10 pm, and Club Zhou opens at midnight.

Head back to Patong early the next afternoon.

I have lived and worked here for a while now, so I have picked up on the Isaan girl mentality and demands.

I don't even try to fully understand the cultural nuances and why, I just accept they are there.
