...I've did stuff that most people wouldn't believe which is exactly why I didn't post an FR on the BTF site for nearly three years. When I did (twice) the thread ran to 7, 000 hits and something like 25 pages of responses. But then the idiots started in. I was called a liar and people attempted to discredit me...

So you say you've done stuff most people would not believe, and when you reported it, some people did not believe, so you are freaked out about not being believed. Do I have that right?

Why don't you just report your experiences, and if someone doesn't beleive -- so what? It's not the end of the world. I for one like to read about unbelieveable stuff.

I apologize in advance as I know this is a little off topic. I have just returned from my 3rd trip to the LOS. I have enjoyed all of my trips immensely, don't get me wrong. I love the Thai culture and people and the women are awesome. In my older age though, I am finding myself becomming less able to tolerate the ungodly repressive heat that I encounter there. Each time I have visited I have found myself doing less and less. The last trip there the heat absolutely wore me down. I have gone during there "winter" before and found there to be not that much difference. I was wonder if some of our more globally seasoned campaigners could recommend a mongering location with some of the similiar good qualities of Thailand, women, cost, etc. without all of the HEAT. It would be great to have a location where I could spend more time without killing myself. Any locations you could suggest would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Here is a report of my trip from about a year ago. I know it is a bit out of date but hopefully it is better late than never.

I spent a few days in Bangkok, staying in Novotel Lotus hotel. I booked a deluxe double room and they were fine about allowing a guest. The guy guarding the lifts seemed to have a list of rooms that they would allow a guest to on a scrap of paper. When I cam with a girl he would check the room number was on the list and take the girl's id card. One night my room number wasn't on the list so he went to check on a computer behind the reception desk but didn't cause any problems.

I started talking to this girl who said she was studying to be an accountant, i don't know if it was true but she spoke much better English than most of the girls and we were able to have conversations that went further than the normal inanities. However she was only a 6 and seemed to be quite shy. So I caught the attention of one of the girls dancing, she was a 9, 21 years old really tight body. She hardly spoke any English and had only been working in the bars for a week or so I guess. I should have been put off when she was cold in the bar (the accountant trainee girl even told her off for not being friendly enough) but I was taken by her looks so took her for long time for 2000 baht. On my final day I had a flight in the evening so went to Eden club in the early afternoon. It was a good ending to my short trip.

this was a typical night, drinking at the bar across nana, wander over into nana and start hanging out at the beer bars downstairs. i was drunk and blurry. the night went on and i chatted up a tg but she said her boyfriend was going to be picking her up soon. wow. wild. so i hung out more and met some of her colleagues. soon enough, a very large caucasian man stops thru and i shake his hand and off he and his nympth prances. her friends later chatted me up more and off we went into the evening abyss. no pun intended.

i'm a regular traveler to bkk, so i'm not into the action per se. that night we partied, danced, drank and went back to the ambassador. nice evening. sent the girls home in the taxi to their surprise. i was flying out early am, i couldn't partake of the fruits that evening. didn't want to miss my plane.

I guess this is the right thread for my question, which is: What are the current best dance clubs (Summer 2008) for lightning, sound system, popularity, and, of course, girl availabilty-both P4P and non-P4P? I know all about Q Bar, The Bed, and CM2 but I would like info on: Hollywood (Ratchada), Any RCA club, and possibly Culture Club in Phaya Thai.

Hollywood is quite different from Q bar, the Bed or CM2. It is more of Las Vegas show type environment. Mostly catering to native Thai people rather than tourists. It is large theater with stage where Thai and other Asian pop stars perform and there is no separate dancing area. People stand around their table and drink while watching the show. A bar girl, I bar fined for a few days last year, took me there with couple of my friends. Most people come with their friends to hang out. I am not sure if there is any P4P action there.

RCA area has many different bars and clubs. Again more cater to native Thai rather than tourists. Last time I was there I got hooked up a 20y. O. American exchange student who was there for 6months. Again mostly friends hanging out and having fun. There were some girls at the bar who might be free lancing but didn't have chance to find out, due to the fact I got hooked up with American college girl. It could be decent option if you are looking for non P4P action.

I haven't been to Culture Club and can't help you with that one, unfortunately.

No, it isn't true. As far as I have been able to observe there is virtually no unemployment in Thailand, and most Isaan men seem quite hard working by my standards. I think part of this unfair reputation stems from the nature of agricultural work, which, though becoming much less common nowadays, used to be the occupation of most Issanites. Farmers often have long periods of idleness interspersed with active periods, governed by the seasons and the life cycle of their plantations. Alas, this lifestyle and many of its traditional aspects are dissappearing quickly as the last of these rural people are drawn into centralized capitalism.

It is true though, that girls are much more put upon than boys, who are very spoiled, and it might not be unusual that the sex-money a girl sends home gets partially redistributed to some relatively spoiled male sibling by her parents. It is also true that most prostitutes have a pimp-boyfriend, but the fact that she typically supports him (if only partially) is a sort of compensation for his sacrifice in being with such a low or shameful woman.

Such truthfulness is not allowed in the Bangkok area, you will have the PAD and OTH protesting that you are wrong, all Isaan men and lazy and the women skanks, only those select few who are now in Bangkok and friends with the PAD and OTH are allowed to be concerned "normal and decent".

Its goes against the grain to suggest that the TRT supporting Isaan people are anything more than lazy idiots who take money for their votes. You must NOT say they are hard working or have jobs. This really makes the PAD and OTH look silly.

Please keep to calling them dumb, lazy idiots who sell their votes for 1 baht.

That way the PAD have some legitimacy.
