While waiting for the train, had enough time to grab beef skewers, pastries, mango smoothie for breakfast. Shops are nice clean, modern. Food is cheap and delish. Everything was easy, smooth, cheap and safe for foreign travelers.

Checked in 4 Star hotel Icon on Sukhumvit Soi 2, nice, clean, large room $53. I usually book hotels on line 1 day at a time to check out the facilities before deciding to stay longer. Next day I walked the sois and found a better deal, $28 4 Star Boss Suite on Soi 4, large room with balcony to smoke outside and $4 breakfast in the morning. It has a tuk tuk to drive you back and forth to Nana Plaza. This place is nice, clean, quiet, cheap, convenient for partying at the clubs, recommended.

It was very hot outside. Showered cleaned up, rest up a bit while cruising Fiwfans to find who are working. Fiwfans is very well managed and reliable, girls verified, pics accurate, shows only girls actually waiting in hotels, bookable within a few hours.

20 minutes ride from BKK if there's no traffic. Your driver may be able to wait for you and take you back to the airport. And actually many, many commercially produced menus, menu and price list boards and signage all around Thailand are about as likely to spell it Bath as Baht. Which makes it understandable that we here might spell it either way if we follow what we have seen so often.

The way a Thai person pronounces 'Baht' or 'Bath' is the same either way. The 'h' is always essentially silent in that only the 't' is heard whether it it spelled 'ht' or 'th' in English even by Thai people and Thai sign makers.

Just as it is heard in the word 'Thailand', 'Thomas' or, and this will be news for many farangs who insist on mispronouncing it, 'Thermae'. The 'Th' in 'Thermae' is not, repeat not, pronounced the same as in the words 'the', 'this' and 'that. ' It is pronounced only as a 'T'. The 'h' is essentially silent in that word too.

I am back from another trips to Bangkok, and I can report the new situation. Nothing is permanent, changing is normal, not crazy change in Bangkok.
