Well if you were in your 60's, not very attractive looking, in Bangkok at the moment but thinking of going to Mtwapa, Kampala, Nairobi, Montego Bay, Angeles or Cebu lots of good intel there. Sadly if it's Bali, Ukraine or South Africa you're off to not much to go on.

Had a wander round yesterday. At least 4 shops on 24/1 lane way with one or two girls sitting outside inviting me in. A number of bars open here and there if you want a drink from a cup. Funny to see hardened booze heads having their "afternoon tea".

The other down side is returning Thais on your flight were not held to the same standards as a foreigner. How do you think all these new arrivals test positive when they get here but 72 hours before they were neg. On my flight the Thais did not need a neg. Test result to fly home.

Yes, Thai citizens are not required to take the PCR test.

If you want to be sure to travel with all people who have taken the test, you must choose those airline companies that have the obligation to covid-test for all passengers like KLM. If you use Emirates (for example), on the first leg you will be flight with alot of passegers that have not been tested.

Real estate is so expensive where I am now that many people are lucky to even live alone in a room 25 sqm. I personally have no issues living in a 25 sqm room as long as it's clean with no bugs. My first condo in Thailand was only 32 sqm and that was fine living alone. It all depends on your lifestyle in your home country I guess.

We talking about spending 15 nights, 24 hrs a day in a 20/25 sqm hotel room, IMHO this is completely different. In your home country you can usually leave your apartment everytime you want during the day / night or have guest. In ASQ you are locked in your room alone 24 hrs a day, so a 40/50 sqm is certainly better than a 20/25 sqm. IMHO.

Yes, but probably for 20-25 mq room and without balcony. 15 nights quarantine is a nightmare, but 15 nigths quarantine in a tiny room is worst.

Just an update, I canceled my trip planned for April 30. The ASQ was going to cost around $1400 USD. When I first was considering the trip I thought it would be less than half that. I should have done more research before booking. Also, the visa requirements and all the hoops I would need to jump through just to (hopefully) be allowed in the country were too much of a logistical nightmare. While certainly doable, my budget and intentions while traveling didn't line up with what reality would be when I arrived. Thanks for weighing in over the past few days. There were around 10 of them around or less than 32k baht. Some were just over 25k baht which isn't expensive for 14/15 nights. These prices include meals and transportation.
