Find non-local in BKK? Generally non-local would not be local. I would look in non-local areas!

When crossing borders, better to always be alone. No point in getting anyone else into whatever trouble you're in (or vice versa). In addition, a friend is useful when you need outside help.

You mean until you ARE tested negative. Here are the rules:

    Quarantine requirements.

All travellers to Thailand, are required to complete 14 days quarantine at a State Quarantine or Alternative State Quarantine (ASQ) facility.

If you test positive whilst in ASQ:

You and anybody travelling with you will automatically be transferred to hospital and held in isolation.

You will be required to remain in hospital for 14 days, even if you have a negative test.

If you test positive you will be required to provide 2 negative tests, 5 days apart, before being considered for release.

If you still test positive after 14 days, the hospital may consider further quarantine either in hospital or self-isolating at home.

All covid insurance should cover you in any case but seems some insurance company will try to not paid your bill if you are positive asymptomatic.

15 nights in quarantine are very hard IMHO but the real nightmare is if you are tested false positive or you positive asymptomatic.

Just wondering is there a treatment for positive covid test but are asymptomatic?

I have heard false positive test are getting more frequent. The r -pcr test depends on how many times sample is amplified. The tester decides, politics come into play. If you test positive in quarantine, you go to a hospital if asymptomatic? Then you get a treatment or not in Bangkok?

If the first 2 I'd be ok but if it's hotel food only I'd get so frustrated unless the food is damn good.
I'm the type of guy who needs a walk in fresh air daily whether it be -40 F/C in Finland or 50 C in Vegas.
Walking outside to buy food? LOL. You can't leave the hotel for 15 days! You are in jail. After the first test on day 5 you can booking 40 min or 1 HR (change from hotel to hotel) outside your room in the hotel facilities (swimming pool or gym). So is better you booking a resort hotel with alot of facilities and room with big balcony.

Some hotels allowed you to order food delivered after your first test (but I think not all hotels allowed this), or you can have some relatives / friends that bring to you some food and the hotel staff will bring up to your room (but again not all hotel seems to have the same rules and some hotels don't allowed fresh food in the room from your friends / relatives).

Usually hotels have thai and western menu, anyway if you check the link I posted you will see alot of food's pics.

I read good reviews about Best Bella in Pattaya, here their menu: https://photos.google.com/share/AF1Q...JmMXZZZjlBQ0tn

My biggest concern is whether you test positive or postivie asymptomatic during quarantine. Read here: " I'the like to share my story for anyone who wants to know what happens if you test positive in asq.

I had my first covid test in lohas hotel on day 5, results are normally given the next day but not for me which made me a bit nervous, day 7 at 12:30 the hotel phone rang and straight away I new what was coming.

Lady on the phone said your result is positive and now you have to pack your bag and a van will take you to hospital at 1300, I expected disease control at the door in hazmat suits but it was the same Porter who showed me to my room on the first day, down to the waiting mini van and off to Bangkok9 international hospital.

Greeted with big Thai smiles at the hospital I was escorted to a private room very similar to the hotel room but with a hospital beg that I couldn't sleep on so slept on the sofa.

Nurse gave me paperwork to sign agreeing to treatment and took a blood sample and a copy of my insurance, I asked what exactly will happen and with very little English she said have to talk with the doctor.

So now I have no idea how long I will be here and how much it will cost me, the ward has a line group but I didn't get any answers on that.

Day 3 in the hospital the doctor called me and said my blood results confirm covid19 and asked about my condition, she said I will have to take another re-pcr test in 1 week to be discharged.

After doing a bit of research and reading Thailand's protocol for treating covid patients I should not have another test if I stay in hospital untill 10 days after my first test and don't have any symptoms for 48 hours but this just fell on deaf ears and they insisted I have a test again.

A doctor from acs insurance company called me and asked if I had any symptoms I confirmed I did and he said they will pay direct to the hospital even on Christmas Day.

On Christmas Eve I had the pcr test at 0830 and that was the longest day I've ever had waiting for the result untill 2100 which came back as negative, so on Christmas Day I was told as soon as the insurance company give an agreement to pay the 105,000 b bill I can go, at 1330 everything was completed and I was free to leave.

Spoke with lohas hotel and they said they couldn't refund any monies for the hotel booking as they can't sell the room again which I completely understand but they are willing to refund half the hospitals fee to them which is 7000 b so I'm happy with that.

So I left the hospital on the same day I would have finished asq and ACS Global Insurance gave a speedy service but just be aware if I didn't have any symptoms they wouldn't have covered it. ".

Start your YouTube journey to nowhere. LOL.

Many bloggers blog about the whole experience. From paperwork to actual stay in Hotel.

Some of those Hotels are top quality. Of course you are paying.

After a few days they do let you go outside. Usually pool area.

Friends in quarantine said meals were 3 times a day, and no food from. Outside since they needed to maintain quarantine for guests and couldn't allow the chance of getting infected by letting people off the streets come in.

Have a look at this video. It's informative and was made to give an idea into what quarantine entails.

Yeah. Thats not happening. You're in solitary confinement for 2 weeks.

I wouldn't risk voiding my stay in Thailand by being caught seeing escorts while I am under quarantine.

Probably most guys don't have a long holidays or don't want to waste their money in ASQ Hotel (like me) because nothing is sure, plenty of FB groups* about ASQ hotels and visas where members talking about their experience, many unlucky guys had big problems with their bookings, Embassy and CoE and waste alot of time and money. Or they have a problem with their insurance while on quarantine.

Anyway, many over50 yo men go back in Thailand with their O-A and O-X visas.

Now STV, SETV and 30/45 days visa waiver are available. STV for my country have rigid and absurd rules, more easy to ask for SETV.

    * https://www.facebook.com/groups/farangsstrandedabroad reading the experiences and problems on this group makes me pass the desire to try to apply for the SETV.
