Who but a single company would risk opening one right across the street from another one or a 1 minute walk down the same street from another one or both as is so often the case in Thailand? Also, I think I have seen 7-11 staff moved around from location to location, which would be something a single company owner could do.

The one on Asok next to Soi Cowboy would rely heavily on foot traffic to and from that destination and tenants from the nearby hotels, both of which have been hit hard at this time and not from, say, nearby long time resident apartments and condos.

Perhaps they think keeping the one on Soi 23 more or less across from Crazy House open, which it is, serves the customers in that area enough. And it is on the end of Soi Cowboy that would benefit from long time apartment and condo resident foot traffic. Same as the one on Soi 19 probably.

Ah. I see I was mixed up about the 7-11 BananaBoi was talking about always being packed during normal times. Yes, as of 10PM tonight the one on Soi 19 next to the big entrance to Terminal 21 was closed while the ones closest to each end of Soi Cowboy were open. The one on the Asok end had 2 customers in it at that time and one of them was me. And that was about the same number of customers I passed on Soi Cowboy as I walked down it then as well.

Speaking of which, as I walked down Soi Cowboy I did get several greetings and invites to "cum inside" the bars but only saw one girl that peaked my interest to stop and get close enough for her to grope me, hug me, refuse to let go. In front of Cowboy 2 Go-Go Bar. A bad sign.

As I wrote I was heading into Bangkok for a few days after a month-long plus living on a farm. I had some business to attend then get some much-needed are&are. One of the business was with Cathay Pacific which I had taken a chance in June to book a flight back to SFO as we all know today that isn't going to happen since I'm not going to spend the money nor jump through all their hoops. While on the farm they sent me an email and canceled my flight for Feb 11th, and reschedule me for Feb 22nd. At their office, I told them not possible and they gave me two choices credit or full refund, I chose the latter and with 3 days it was already credited back to me.

My other plan was to get some good Western food particularly Mexican and got some great recommendations from three guys you know who you are! Thanks a million, baht for the great suggestions! Since I was staying near Soi 13, Margarita Storm happened to be right on the corner. I'm not a Bangkok guy but I don't know how many times I've walked past this place and just didn't noticed. I had an early dinner just couldn't wait any longer for some Tacos, large selection menu but I started with their Gla and Chips, 3 hard shell tacos, and a Burrito. All touch the spot certainly much better than the Sunrise Taco franchise the most enjoyable was the young waitress with the tight jeans and low cut tank top all chowing down all I could think was her nice round ass I went back two more times just to stare dreaming for more than just a short conversation.

The next morning when they opened at 11 am, I gave La Monitas a try for a late breakfast, to be honest, I felt the taste was better but the selection not as good as Storm plus Storm had the waitress I just dream about.

Although it was his fault the guy didn't even have the decency to give her money to return to Thailand he took all the money in their joint account and took off. The guy's son felt so bad paid for her ticket back to Thailand while her sons gave what they had to help her get back on her feet.

Thereafter, I had to return back to the States to care for my mother when I return I tried her number but now it was disconnected. A few months later I get a call we meet up and I could see she has been having a tough time she indicated she try going back to the bar but at her age, it was just too much she even told me came close to selling drugs to get by but her call was to tell me she was leaving Pattaya going back to live with her mother up north and starting a new life. Although she has never asked me for more than helping her out with a shortage of rent or utility money she need 5000 baht (loan) to pay the expense of moving her belongings I gladly gave it to her with a big hug and wishing her a good life like before.

During the last two years, we have spoken a number of times I found out her mother passed away a year ago now she lives alone and buys second-hand clothes at a discount and sells it at the night market to get by. In July of this year when she called found out that she was in a big motorbike accident her arm was broken had pins placed haven't been able to work due to the accident and Virus when things settle the rain came and flooded the market so unable to sell her clothes. During my stay on the farm, I spoke to her telling her my plans to visit Bangkok she suggested she would take the bus down and spend time with me I had no problem with it. When we met up I found out she has woken up at 4 am to catch the mini-van since they don't run much in her area. If I had known I wouldn't have agreed to our meeting since the damage was done I treated her to a few hours of massage at a spa and took her for a good meal.

Part of this trip prior to our meeting I noticed she called me from a different number I found out this was a friend's phone since she no longer had a phone and was saving up for a new one. I remember I had an older phone no longer being used so I ask if she wanted it before I give it to her I will take it to the shop and have everything checked. The shop I used did and said although old it is still in great shape the battery everything was fine. Prior to giving it to her I also double-check my brother's kids even had it for a few hours playing with it and making sure everything worked. When in Bangkok, I gave it to her we both ran through everything turn the phone on double-checking then changing the language to Thai. I even had the original box it came with plus instructions.

The next morning she got up the early place the box in her purse saw into the taxi for Mo-Chit to try to catch the first van back to her village. When she got into the taxi walking back into the hotel I got an ill feeling come over me for several days I didn't hear from her just thought typical Thai when she gets time she will it has never failed just thinking it is all in my head? Every meal was pretty much Mexican I was planning to stay another evening and walk around and at night hit up a number of GoGo bars but didn't want to wait hours before they open. I checked out a number of massage places, the usual places Snow White, Tulip, up and down Soi 22-24 just too early or nothing struck me meantime I just continue to have this bad feeling inside my stomach so, in the end, Ekamai got back on the bus back to Pattaya and the family.

Not sure about Bangkok but in Pattaya? Years ago I was approached by an agent to buy one of these franchises. The more questions I asked the more uncomfortable the agent got the only reason I even sat and listen was that she said I could clear 100,000 baht each month after expenses. Thereafter, I did more research found out that might have been true a long long time ago today with their rules in place stores nearly right next door to each other just impossible plus these franchises need to be renewed every 8 years then if I remember correctly a (A) class was something like 1. 5 million a (B) larger was 2. 5 million baht. You can't just say I want to buy one here then they assign you the location? I basically told the agent if you put in the contract as she noted " clear 100,000 baht a month GUARANTEE you got yourself a deal.

I think today due to their own rules many of the old franchises aren't being renewed so I sense the majority of the 7/11 are parent company-owned?

If the picture of the girl does not already exist online presumably the customer takes picture (s) while he is with her. A number of issues around this.

Did he ask permission to take it.

Did she know he was going to post it online.

Did she give permission to do so.

Unless the answer to all 3 is yes by I believe the picture should not have taken and most definitely should not be shared online and if one has to ask why an explanation would be meaningless.

I received a photo tonight showing the 7-11 on Sukhumvit Soi 19 beside T21 shut down. I was in shock as that 7-11 was always packed when I went there. One has to think there would still be a lot of Thai people in the area going to T21 and using the Asok BTS / MRT right there. If a busy pre-COVID 7-11 in a prime hot spot shuts its doors Thailand is / will be in a world of hurt financially.

I noticed same when I was in that area a few weeks ago. Staying on a sub soi off Suk 19. There is a 7-11 down about 100 m on the left on Suk 19 that is still open.

Wow. Are they closed permanently? That 7-11 is probably the place I've gone to the most in Thailand.

True ET shops are being shuttered in tourist areas like lower Sukhumvit and Pattaya but it would be misleading to imagine all doing just fine further on down the line. Life for millions of Thais who directly or indirectly depend on tourism for a living are now without an income and the absence of their spending in areas of the country where they live I think you'll agree means business's there while still getting by are not doing nearly as well as they were pre pandemic.

The 7-11 up the steps where the African drug dealers used to sit, between Soi 13 and Thermae, is also closed. And the small one on Soi 4 between The Tavern and Ibis Novotel Hotel. The Family Mart near the bottom of the escalator on the Soi 8 side of bts Nana has just been boarded up, too.

However, bear in mind most of these closures are concentrated in the tourist area around Sukhumvit between Asok and Soi 4/Soi Nana. And in the immediate Patpong area, too. I can't say I have seen many if any 7-11, Family Mart, bar, restaurant, shop and store closures in Bangkok once you get 2-3 bts skytrain and mrt subway stations away from those areas and beyond.

In fact, they seem to be rocking busy and doing just fine without us out there. In Bangkok, that is. I assume it's much more dire in Pattaya except for the weekends and on the tourist destination islands.

Get out of the tourist area of lower sukhumvit and the only difference in Bangkok you will see are people wearing masks and temperature checks.

Life is pretty normal, we even have supporters at football matches.

A new Nana Plaza go-go bar has opened in the spot previously occupied by Chili's Bar on the second level called Whiskey & GoGo. It has the same stage and customer booth lay out it had when it was called Chili's. There is a weird additional door separating it from Random GoGo bar on the same end of that floor. Watch your step over the "busted kneecap waiting to happen" threshold bump where that weird door is mounted.

I surmise that additional door is only there to extend the entrance to the bar far enough out to be seen from the ground level. Otherwise, the sign and door would be so far back in the corner you might never know a go-go bar is there. That was the case when it was called Chili's Bar.

I just popped into the new small bar for a moment to look around. Some of the 10 or so girls onstage looked pretty good at a glance but it was hard to tell in such dark lighting. Maybe I will go back some night soon to see if the attitude of the girls is as accommodating to my needs as they were back when it was called Chili's, way back when only 1 or 2 dancers were ladyboys.
