I was with a date and did not barfine anyone. But we sat and enjoyed having drinks with a couple of other girls there. One was a former Butterflies go-go dancer on the fence about returning to the go-go bar scene.
I had only barfined one girl from that location before the shutdown, from one of the bars directly on Soi 7 before you get to Beer Garden. Had a good time. But lots of territorial jealousy and drama ensued immediately afterwards on her part so I have not repeated. Thought she might throw a barstool at us when my Friday night date and I walked by. Lol
As I alluded to, the girls there are more demonstrably pro active and emotional than most other venues around town.
Btw, at the 9pm hour we popped our heads into Beer Garden and there were only 4-5 ladies sitting in there and about as many customers.

Posts: 411Many girls have told me this. Japanese guys are. Most polite is why they have favoured status. The fact they pay well is secondary.
With Japs it's go with the flow. No need for diagrams and contracts on what will be done, how long it will take.

Went into Thermae last night about 10:30. There were a total of 7 guys and about 30 or so gals. We were the only two non-Asian guys. Stayed about 20 min. During that time a few small groups of Asian guys wandered in. There was never more than 12 guys in the bar at any one time. Saw one gal get pulled. Some lookers but many still obviously not interested in the white man, even though their prospects overall were slim. Lower Suk is dire without tourists. Many if not most of these businesses are not going to survive. Some groups of older women trying to ply their wears on the street as well. You get the feeling they are doing this out of desperation. It's a very sad and depressing sight. Only ray of light was the new beer bar complex on Soi 7. Seem to be some punters and some happy gals.

That old place in the corner was iconic.
Good to know that they have not closed down. Just moved.

Star of Light, the infamous BJ bar has reopened. They have a new location, still on Patpong Soi 2, but a few doors up form the old place, closer to Surawong Road. As an aside, Patpong Soi 1 is nearly dead (on a Saturday night no less), while Soi 2 is somehow limping along.
They increased prices to 800 baht (from 700) for a BJ and to 1200 (from 1000) for full service. The good old "increase prices when demand is down" Thai trick. Now they're the same as any other BJ bar, and while still OK for a BJ, I surely won't be tempted by full service given that you can get a freelancer for a full hour for less.
The new location is brighter and cleaner, so that's good. It has a partition behind a heavy curtain for the BJ, and they no longer offer service out in the open in the bar. Good for privacy, but every place has that; doing it out in public and occasionally watching a few knobs being polished was the main, unique selling point. They seem to be scared of police now, I was told to keep my shirt on. Hoping this is temporary and that they'll be more relaxed in the future.
There were 4 girls and the service was nice, with one of my old favorites.
While I understand both the higher prices and the precautions, understanding doesn't make me horny or eager to visit again soon.

When we don't feel like being bothered with that particular kind of "payment" in exchange for sex, we walk into a brothel and plunk down the cash instead.
It seems oddly curious to me that there is any resistance to understanding and accepting these basic truths about men and women on a site like this one, of all places.
I mean, it's kind of central to why this hobby has existed all along.

I was walking on Soi 33 today. After my Akane massage, other the girls insisted I come in and look. I popped in DreamHeaven. Guess its 1800 but when I walked out they said "OK 1500". So looks like promos and deals are to be had, and I'm one to take advantage of them!
Anyone else noticed any promos?

But that "good news" prediction aside. Has anyone come down from the provinces since July 1, and what hotels are open, and do they still allow GFE like before? Is the Beer Garden open?
I haven't paid bar-fines in 20 years and I'm not starting now.
What else is open and rocking freelancers?
I've seen recent YT videos of the strip near Raumchok Plaza / Thermae has SW, are any "nice" bars or pubs allowing freelancers since the world changed forever?
I'll be in town from the 20th for a week maybe two.
Happy to buy anyone a beer if they would like to meet for a quick chat.
Thanks.

Maybe we will see a return to that dynamic once the reality of today's economic conditions really sets in and shakes out all vestiges of the mindset that was able to thrive over the past 10 years or so.
I saw a lot of new young faces in the couple of go-go bars I have visted so far since they reopened. But I have not yet had the free time to check out the attitudes in the privacy of my apartment. Hopefully, soon.
But in terms of the level of looks in the newly reopened go-go bars, I would say those new young faces and bodies fall into the usual tiered breakdown; 10% snooty, aloof lookers, top tier for the particular venue, 20% second tier aspiring to take business away from the top and more willing to do whatever it takes to do so (my favorite tier for that reason), 20% acceptably fuckable if you are willing to forgive more apparent to all flaws and the rest falling much more predictably in the "needs to accept even 1,000 for no discussion BBFS+CIP" tier category.
I have seen a lot more new young faces among the girls on the street lately, too.

Bad timing on my part to decide to live in Korea and Japan instead. Oh well, can think of worst places to live than Shinjuku, Dotonbori, and Myeongdong.

Supply / demand ratio has fallen sharply over the years. These days, any average looking girl can pull 2-4ST customers each day, so much that most avoid LT. Thinking about it, average girls are now stunners, most working girls are dregs. About 10 years ago, supply outstripped demand so much that plenty of decent girls were doing no more than 3-4 customers per week, and they'd jump at an offer of 1 k baht ST or 2 k LT. Going on a multi-day holiday at 1 k / day used to be a bingo for many girls, whereas these days it would lose them money.
