Don't waste your breath. The anti Indian thing here is just part of these guys view of life and probably most of the lurkers are the same. They're never going to change their mind. To them Indians are just one group to hate, next week Chinese next week Africans, next week thai men. These guys will always be ready to fight with their beliefs.

You might know may be maximun 100 indians, it doesn't mean the whole 1. 3 billion people have same attitude. I have travelled from the Canada border to key west and to Mexico city through Laredo border by land. I have seen too many homeless, beggars and super fat people doesn't mean that all Americans are like that.

I did travelled end to end Japan and saw so many homeless there too, but it is not the whole picture of the country.

For me, negotiation is a skill, if you are into IT, you can't get a service without an Indian involvement. It's up to your company to choose to whom you want to give a contract. But I have done some successful negotiations and managed to include additional services within the same cost.

Everything has changed from what you had seen before. I am in mid thirties and I volunteerly retired from my banking career and travelling round the world. I know so many young men nowadays taking career breaks at mid twenties and enjoying their life.

India changed a lot, so you can't compare everyone else with indians you knew.

Almost everything about the Indian culture is a turn off. My company has a policy to not even negotiate with Indian companies at all anymore.

Well, I'd say since about 05.

Yes I reckon they were still okay Up to 2005 in Cowboy, and declined gradually. I was pretty much happy with Sheba up till it closed (a few years later), although easy to spend too much, although probably avoided Long Gun since several years earlier (perhaps 2005+) , before tall Noi (super body) started working as the front of house girl. I liked a skinny show dancer called Ning, even just to watch her shows. She did a two girl cabaret act that was fairly professional, up till her co-dancer left (not the Phat Pong type stuff). So strangely Long Gun was a bar I would attend regularly for short visits even without barfining any girl.

Its hard for me to remember actual years now that memory is less sharp. Still I can read my very old reports, to find out when I was still doing Long Gun. 2008 I wrote that Long Gun was not a favourite bar any more even though I liked two girls and one waitress (naturally beautiful girls). So just visited occasionally, but BFed more in SuziW and Sheba, despite the cost rising.

Late 1990's to early 2000's I probably was doing very few bars at all. I was on a short leash most likely (Thai GF) and not in Thailand much. Not a great idea. Mid 1990's Nana Plaza had full nudity, but later Cowboy took over that role. I was missing at the time of that take over so not aware when Long Gun started nude dancing, but was a good period.

1991, one had to go to Pat Pong to see full nudity and indulge into multi girl orgies at lunch time. I never was into girls being over dressed. Pat Pong was in its prime for me, even had to avoid rip off joints. For me the decline of Nana corresponded with no more nudity so in the 1990's (early Nana Plaza was more like Cowboy. Girls were more slutty in a good way). The Lollipop Mermaid tank was a nice touch. 2005 could be about right for the start of Cowboy decline.

All bar areas were adversely affected by big increase in nose jobs and tit jobs for me, even well before the agency girls started arriving, and of course the rising costs, given girls were so cheap for the whole night in 1991.

Thermae is adamant that ladyboys are not allowed to enter the bar so all the ladyboys stand outside hoping to grab the Japanese who are indifferent to girls or boys. You will not find a ladyboy inside Thermae. Only 100+ ready and willing girls. I recommend to go around 8:30 pm before the place becomes a zoo.

Sometime next week, I want to checkout Thermae. I wanted to do this for a long time now but the logistics of a short time hotel scared me.

I read that Ruamchit hotel has ST rooms available. Can someone walk me through the check in and check out process? Do they take your ID? Do they report TM30? (that would be a deal breaker).

Not a problem. Just used it last week for the first time. No ID just 800 B for ST. Room was fine for a brief sexcapade with a Thermae hottie. And from someone who had moments ago walked out from the Hyatt regency club room where I was staying on my points accumulated from past few months of busy global travel staying at various Hyatts.

I happened to end up in Ruamchit due to funny sequence of events. Was shacked up in my hyatt room with my part time thai sugar babe. She would come back from office have dinner with me then take a nap. I would normally just go to some bar or something till she was up for the evening. That evening I decided to walk past Thermae and I happen to see an old Thermae flame walking with 2 Asian guys. She noticed me walking by and as she went down the steps into Thermae, discreetly motioned me to follow her. I kept walking but at some point decided to turn back and go in. After getting my customary drink took a lap around the room but did not see her. Instead noticed a hot 20 something on the left side inner circle. Had to walk up to her! Quoted 3 K ST and off we went to the room upstairs. She took care of the registration etc, I just handed the 800 B. As easy as that. BTW, it was a passionate BBBJ & covered FS. Well worth it to me.

I even thought was funny at a short time hotel with a fixed price for the room, that one dude was trying to negotiate the room price down, for the whole night I guess. Clearly the receptionist has no interest and no power to do that. However he kept putting some small amounts of cash on the table, thinking she was going to cave in. It sort of showed a lack of respect that he thought some receptionist was desperate not to lose a room booking, or something about him coming from a culture where absolutely everything is negotiable. They are busy. Why should she care if he does not take a room? They will make more money by taking ST bookings.

I was getting slightly irritated because the guy was wasting so much time trying it on repeatedly, where I just wanted to grab a room quickly. The receptionist was too polite to tell him to fuck off.

We will negotiate with everyone else because they are ethical, professional, and realize your time is valuable. We won't waste time negotiating with Indians because they just waste time offering too low.

I was in China at a market where everyone negotiates. I was looking at some shoes. At the same time an Indian guy was looking at the same shoes and he offered a price that was about 1/10 of what the shoes were marked. The Chinese girl told him no, and told him to get the hell away from her store and stop wasting her time. LOL. I then offered her even lower for the shoes than he did and she didn't kick me out, but she negotiated with me. I didn't buy the shoes because I wasn't really interested. I just wanted to see if she'd kick me out.

I did some consulting work in India a while ago, and the last night, some of the Indian managers joined me for dinner at what was supposedly the nicest restaurant in town (it was a small town, so the restaurant actually was nothing great). They had a buffet at the restaurant. We had the option of choosing the buffet or ordering from the menu. These Indian guys I was with wanted the buffet, but they wanted a different soup than the one that came with the buffet and they wanted it included in the buffet rather than ordering it off the menu. They argued with the waiter and manager of the restaurant for about an hour over this soup. They kept telling him if he wanted the buffet and that different soup, there would be an extra charge for that different soup. I think the soup was like 1 dollar US, so it was ridiculous to be wasting our time negotiating that. Finally, the restaurant actually agreed to include that soup with the buffet (which I did not like because it seemed unethical to be bullied into including it). Those Indian guys loved that soup and raved about it as they ate it. I thought it tasted horrible and I much preferred the soup that originally came with the buffet. What a waste of my time sitting there while they argued over that crap.

I am not assuming where this dude was from but I have visited India and can say categorically that everything is negotiable. I am talking about entering a store to buy an item of clothing and you can negotiate the price down. I learnt that from experience and discovered that you can even buy electronic items in a store for less than you can purchase them online, India was the only country in which I experienced that. The only place where you cannot negotiate would be a big name supermarket.
I recall that in my last visit to Kolkata in 2014 I wanted a piece of carry on luggage that was being sold by a street vendor and we began to negotiate. I quoted a very low price and we were going at it. It appeared that the guy badly wanted to sell the item and eventually I got it for what appeared to me to be a steal of a deal. After I paid him he was clearly unhappy and after walking away with the item I felt a bit bad about the whole affair. The item is in very good shape up to today with the exception of one wheel that has been damaged. I used that carry on continuously until the wheel got damaged in 2017.
