Around 3 pm visited Doki but it was booked solid. Lesson learnt, always make a booking before going there because its extremely popular. Kept walking and ended up in soi 33 at Mitu. Its very hard to find so do use google maps. You get a vile tasting energy drink upon arrival and an ipad to make your selection. Chose Uru and she provided excellent and eager service, willing to do anything. Mitu gets full marks on cleanliness and functionality of rooms.

I wonder if there are girls asking for a ST at 2 K there, because I cannot believe all these guys walked away from a 1500 baht price. All of these guys probably thought that she was good looking because none of them went to see other girls except for the group of Koreans.

By the way that group of Koreans discussed for about ten minutes with two other meaty girls and went off to a ST room with these two girls. Five Korean guys taking on two poor Thai girls. Third stereotype (it's only the Indians that hunt in pack and take one or two girls for 4 or 5 guys).

Did a quick trip to Bangkok which was my 20th since 2004 when I first visited. Usually stay at Phachara Suites which is the friendliest and quiet place but this time tried the Grande Central Point. Excellent location but the only disadvantage is that the entire hotel is non smoking. I vape so could sneak some in my room but tobaccos smokers will have a problem.

Thermae is literally five minutes walk from the hotel and at around 8-9 pm, you don't even need to get inside because hundreds (I know I am exaggerating) of girls are spilling over on the street and are ready to negotiate. Didn't go there because I had something else on my mind.

Visited Mixx around midnight and the quality was horrible especially of the Central Asians. There are a few good lookers but they are for show only, not for hire. The Russians are living in a dream land asking for 10-12 thousand Baht per night and the most you can do for them is not to laugh in their faces. Found a Cambodian beauty who was willing to go for 6,000 for the night. Excellent body, great skin and complete GFE.

Finished the trip with a farewell visit to Doki which always lives up to its name and doesn't give an opportunity to complain.

I will be travling to Bangkok first time in next week and mostly stying in Conrad hotel. Need lead or guidance to meet young birdies near to me.

The Conrad is a very nice hotel, but kind of in the middle of No Man's land as far as punting opportunities. As a BKK newbie, you might enjoy the JW Marriott, the Hyatt Regency, or the Sukhumvit Sofitel which are all of similar class as the Conrad, but have the advantage of being right in the heart of the action with "young birdies" plying their trade right outside their front doors.

Still, from nearest to farthest from the Conrad check out Spasso, Mixx, Nana, Soi 4, Patpong, Soi 11, Thermae, Cowboy, Soi 22, and Soi 24 for starters. The actual "reason" for no alcohol is to promote good behaviour on "Ork Phansaa" day or end of Buddhist Lent. The Monks come out of retreat. The exact day varies each year depending on phase of the moon. So it a religious holiday. It just so happens that 13 October has been set as anniversary of the King (same each year). This year they just happened to fall on the same day. Monday 14 October is a public holiday in place of Sunday 13th. This is known as "Chot Chery" day or weekday day off in place of holiday which dell on weekend, already a day off for public servants.

In some provinces (not Bangkok) "Loy Krathong" (floating of garland and candle baskets on the water) is held on same day as "Ork Phansaa".

Normally straight after "Ork Phassaa" (end of lent), we have the presentation of robes to the Monks referred to as "Thot Kathin" (this is not a dry day).

Despite Sunday 13th supposedly being a dry day, plenty of people were boozing it up. Just they had to buy their alcohol through less official sources or the day before.

Bars tend to close because the purpose is thought to be for drinking alcohol. Not the case at all for some of us.

On a tangent:
