I have known several Thai P4P girls who did live a pretty good life at the time and also managed to squirrel away enough money to start and succeed in business at the end of their working years (even well before the end!). And I know several others who don't have two satang to rub together after their Sell By date had passed. Moreover, all during their working years the former group always seemed to have plenty of expense money on hand, never called me for an "Emergency Loan" and would more likely as not be booked for the night well in advance and I'd have to call them early. By contrast, the latter group was always scratching around and calling me at all hours for the 500 baht that stood between them and the end of the world for themselves and their family.

These two groups of girls were generally all born with the same natural resources fine enough to overcome any requirement for "skilled labor" in order to pay their bills and set themselves up for a comfy older age. In other words, they were within the same general range in terms of natural born good looks, brains and education opportunities.

Headed out to Saphan Kwai for something different. First time there. Went in T-Ded 99 first. Got there about 8:15 pm. I was the only customer. Only 2 girls that I could see. They were putting on make up. No girls dancing guess it was too early. I concur with Catire's statement on the cost. And I would add that 8:15 PM is very early to be there. Last time I was there late last year I left the bar you mentioned about 11 PM because I had a date with a girl coming to my apartment. There were a couple of dozen girls in there at that time. However, I assume there is a way to get around that Pay Upfront system if the girl really wants to be seen walking out of her bar with a farang and do her job in the room well enough to warrant a tip above that and, wonder of wonders, earn a repeat invitation for even more money down the line. So I might drop in there again someday to see if that is possible. If it isn't, then I would probably carry on just fine without another Saphan Kwai visit for the next few years.

I agree we can have difference opinions because we have different experiences. If you try to read my post in the context it is written, the meaning maybe different, and I do not mean to be harsh. There is nothing wrong to enjoy life regardless circumstances.
