Yes, almost to the day that someone here (I forget who) reported how hot it was in Bangkok day and night, the weather turned to quite moderate during the day and downright cool in the evening. Have had a bit of light rain every now and then. And now that I have reported this, watch it go back to being very hot.

LOL. These weather reports often have a shorter useful lifespan than overviews of go-go bar lineups. Interesting, but wait 2-3 hours and everything is different.

Was having a drinking night, as I had gotten my fill of ladies earlier in the day already, but decided to hit up the go-gos in Nana Plaza, check out the ladies, drink it up, and if there was anything I really had to have, I could consider a ST. Went to a few places, quick rundown, as I've done before on Nana.

Rainbow (ground floor): Very average.

Rainbow 4 (2nd floor): Great looking girls of course, may be the best of the bunch in overall everything. This place certainly caters to East Asians though. Could say that for a lot of go-gos but the girls here really push that look and I think 80% of the patrons were east asian. No pressure, nice spot, easy to see all the ladies, lots of good going for it. Not sure its my favorite spot, but I know it will always be a good option.

Sexy Night (2nd floor): After fighting through the LBs on the 2nd floor, took a peek in is all, nothing interesting, moved on..

Agree with BB. Nice overview of a few popular places. Useful for someone like me esp. Who won't be automatically frequenting go-gos. Depends on girls profile, music and general vibe for this monger.

With so many in the Pattaya Flying Club, one wonders how many were actual suicides and how many were given a push off the top storey once they paid for the house and car, and farm for the girl, or spent their life savings.

It may be different in other Thailand cities but in Pattaya I believe it's many old Farang who have just run out of money. Increased value of the Thai baht and fall of the British Pound coupled with inflated prices from tourists. So many expats in Pattaya who look broke as fuck. Quite depressing actually.

When I used to stay at View Talay 6 in Pattaya I have had gogo girls refusing to go to my top floor condo. They all know about the 'jumpers' from VT6.

Billboard (3rd floor): Vibe here is good, no pressure to pick a lady from mammasan or waitresses which is nice. Plenty of good girls, on par with Rainbow 4. Had stuff for pretty much all tastes outside of the kawaii girls of R4. I would say though that the girls don't rotate onto the stage / bathtub too often, so take a walk around to see which girls are sitting down off stage, there was tons of girls on stage, and plenty not on stage, that never went up while I was there. Another spot I could have easily have BF'ed half the room, but nothing I absolutely had to have.

Butterflies (3rd floor): Tons of petite hotties, it must be their specialty. Just tons of ladies with pretty much all of them having these small little bodies. If you're looking for that, this should be your first stop. If you're not, just go elsewhere before coming here. Definitely more of a strip club vibe than traditional go-go, which is good and bad.

Was pretty deep into beer at this point, grabbed late night eats and went to bed, didn't see anything mandatory and saved my baht for something the next day instead.

I believe the law is based on country of citizenship, and not country of residency. And the risk of course (especially in Thailand) is any grey area in interpretation could result in Murphy's Law.

Absolutely, one should err on the side of caution in these matters.

Here is the USA Law as it pertains to age without co-factors involved such as kidnapping, physical abuse, undue coercion and so on. Actually, as I read it now, I don't see any mention of the age 16 being an issue. I might be confusing that with another law.

However, as I read and understand it, the USA law with regard to sex and age 18 pertains to people who "travel with the intent to", "travel for the purpose of" and Sex Tourism and not people who live here, just happened to meet a young person above the age of consent and they both choose to engage in (non commercial) sex. That would be especially true if the young person is on record having stated his/her age as 18 or older.

The reason for this "traveler" concept is not explained exactly in the text but I can surmise why the law would make a distinction between the two situations, at least in part. The USA is trying to discourage a "hit and run" type of engagement with someone under the age of 18, where the traveler hops on a plane the next day, never to take responsibility for the consequences of his/her actions; pregnancy, STD transmission, whatever. By contrast, an established resident is essentially accepting that he will abide by and deal with whatever fallout occurs from his actions and for all practical purposes can be compelled to do so by the local authorities because he lives here and is not just passing through.

``(d) Ancillary Offenses.--Whoever, for the purpose of commercial
advantage or private financial gain, arranges, induces, procures, or
facilitates the travel of a person knowing that such a person is
traveling in interstate commerce or foreign commerce for the purpose of
engaging in illicit sexual conduct shall be fined under this title,
imprisoned not more than 30 years, or both.
``(e) Attempt and Conspiracy.--Whoever attempts or conspires to
violate subsection (a), (b), (c), or (d) shall be punishable in the same

``(f) Definition.--As used in this section, the term `illicit sexual
conduct' means (1) a sexual act (as defined in section 2246) with a
person under 18 years of age that would be in violation of chapter 109A
if the sexual act occurred in the special maritime and territorial

defined in section 1591) with a person under 18 years of age.
``(g) Defense.--In a prosecution under this section based on illicit
sexual conduct as defined in subsection (f)(2), it is a defense, which
the defendant must establish by a preponderance of the evidence, that
the defendant reasonably believed that the person with whom the
defendant engaged in the commercial sex act had attained the age of 18
years.''.
(b) Conforming Amendment.--Section 2423(a) of title 18, United

My situation would not apply generally and might apply even less given I am not "traveling" in the other country but living here. If that is a fine point worth noting.
