We can use terms Gridiron and Soccer etc. To be clear about football. I go to a Sports bar that has Soccer, Rugby (two different codes / Rules), Australian Rules football, Cricket, Cycling, Grand Prix Car racing, tennis, snooker, pool (maybe) and they can actually put on just about anything to suit the particular customers at the time, even horse show jumping or golf. Different programs in different areas and sound as far as possible if not too many concurrent sports showing.
