Being from silicon valley, it's tough to judge anyone's income by how they dress. It's t-shirt, jeans, flannels, and maybe a button up dressed techies, but there are a lot of hundred thousandaires if you will; maybe millionaires in the bunch. I wouldn't wear my Panerai going down Walking Street.

Silicon Valley is a subset of American culture (which is unique and unusual compared to Asia especially). We're talking about Chinamen, Korean, Japanese. They're from societies where status, face, wealth are extremely important. They don't miss an opportunity to rub wealth in someone's face. Without other information, I'm going to guess that the Asian sex tourist in his $5 t-shirt from Phuket, flip flops, cheap man bag he picked up along Sukhumvit wrapped around his shoulder has far less money than the white guy with the $50 t-shirt, $200 jeans.

This means nothing. No one is pulling a sample from each of those countries directly. The sample size comes from a smaller sub sample of people from a country who are traveling sex tourists. Which leads to, let's go by reality and make salient points rather than drop a rather pointless GDP list. Go into many of the popular bars, and you'll see Japanese and Korean writing. The guys coming from these countries are prepared to spend more money. They represent a different group of people who have higher incomes than the average or not so average person from their home countries. The middle class of these and other countries like China and India is expanding which brings in many more different types of sex tourists. A lot of the older ex-pats have been priced out whether due to inflation or the price of their home country currency being weak against the baht. That old fat cracker white guy who used to be able to sit with a bar girl for a while is now the one counting his pennies. The subject is who's willing to spend more money per transaction at a bar in Thailand. The subject is NOT which country has better spending power. There is a different as complicated as it may be to you.

This is the whole point. It's old white retirees on fixed incomes complaining about the increase in prices, bars being less fun. They're competing against Chinamen, Koreans in the prime of their working lives.

A young man in the prime of his working life should have far more disposable income than a retiree who doesn't know whether he needs to stretch his money for 5 years or 20 years.

White retirees trying to make their money stretch for 20 years is not reflective of middle-class disposable income in Western countries.

Has anyone had any experience recently with Gulliver's? It used to be a pretty chill place for pool and food, where the FLs would hang out, with no pressure at all. I used to hang there about 10 years ago, and found one sexy little Cambodian who ended up being a little bit of a regular. If I was peckish, I'd swing by Gulliver's, have a fish and chips and beer, followed by a Cambodian sammich. Anyway, it used to be pretty cool, and I'm thinking of swinging by on my next trip. When in Bangkok I use Guillivers for food and play pool.

Many of the East Asian sex tourists don't exactly dress and carry themselves like covert multi-millionaires. Often sandals, cheap t-shirt, cheap man purse around their shoulder. The mamasan at Billboard is extremely pushy crook and a tries all kinds of scams if she believes you are a newbie. These include ordering one lady drink for the price of two (drink and mixer are served and charged separately), pushing you aggressively for tips and drinks for herself, quoting inflated prices and demanding upfront payment for the ladies. Just say firmly no. Once she sees that you know how things work, she will leave you alone and look for another "victim". It is really a pain but the place has a very decent selection on stare, so it is worth the hassle. Just make sure you never pay for the girl's service in the bar in advance!

The talent performs well in bed and there are a few 30 something lookers there. But I prefer the FL's at CJ's in the Mulla Jakarta and Brix in the Hyatt Singapore as far as 5 * FL Hotel pick up girls go. You might remember Hari's Bar in the Holiday Inn Hong Kong. Hari's used to have amazing talent; hot Korean, Mongolian, and Thai girls, but it went to hell a few years ago. I did not even bother to stop by on my recent layover in HKG. I took a Taiwanese 141 hotel reservaton girl instead. The Wan Chai bars totally sucked filled as they were with way past their due date fat fugly girls. I almost felt sorry for these girls.

I find all of those places are mostly filled with old ladies too aged to hook in their own countries. And the guys always tend to be traveling white business men. Honestly, I have felt both depressed and amazed at what goes on in these "5 star hotel bars" in Asia.

I was there a few Saturday nights ago. The quality of the girls was outstanding.
