Anybody have any insight into the working girl situation here in Tamarindo? It looks like there should be some nightlife.

Visited Perez Zeledon over the weekend. Also known as San Isidro.

One place in town on the Pan American highway about 3km north of town named Bar El Mexicano. Nearby to Gasotica gas station.

Two floor place. Upper level according to the vigilancia out front is for "chicas de la calle". It was early (11pm) so the upstairs was only local ticos with two female bartenders.

Downstairs there were 8 chicas. Four dominicanas, one panamena, one nicaraguense, and three ticas. Two of the domincan chicas were decent and one of the ticas was very hot.

Imperial beer was 1100 colones.

They have rooms on the premises. The rate for the room and chica is 15, 000 colones (30 bucks). Take out is available. Fifty dollars to the house and one of the dominican chicas wanted 100 bucks.

Didn't partake. Worthwhile place.

Seems safe. The bar will call a cab when you want to leave. It was a 1500 colon ride to the center of town.

Would recommend if you find yourself in San Isidro.

Other options noted. Las Cascadas is a very popular disco that was rockin on Friday and Saturday night. No working girls noted but very friendly local chicas. Strong possibilities in this town to establish amiga con derechos.

I am planning a trip late November to stay at the westin in playa conchal. The only post I saw was from 2009. From my research I see this area is famous for its natural parks and scenic beauty, but it would be so much more special if you had a hot local escorting you around this part of the beautiful country.

Any idea if there is fun to be had and how I might be able to get and keep company for a long weekend?

This may be too late, but I would observe that the Westin Playa Conchal is locked down and isolated from the local environment like a fortress. You could probably get a lady in if you drove her in in a rental car and she could pass for your wife or girlfriend, but I don't see how else you'd get a hooker into the Westin.

For me Curacao and Sosua are great, good prices and Colombians in Curacao and Dominicans in Sosua know how act / perform. CR is full of putas that have attitude and screw like dead chickens.

I'm in Tamarindo right now, before I head to San Jose on Thursday. On Saturday night, I looked all over for some visible signs of hookers at several of the various bars that were mentioned in posts below, and did not find anything. Fortunately, a tout approached me who was trying to sell me drugs, but I wasn't interested. I happened to mention that the only thing I was looking for was pussy, and he suggested that he could get me some. After explaining what I was looking for, and some negotiation, we agreed that if the lady was to my liking, I would give him 100 total, including her rate and his tip (when she arrived, and met my inspection, they broke out to 80-20). The lady who arrived was named Karen, and she was mid 20s, with a nice body, tiny bit of baby fat, but nice, natural D cups and no sign of stretch marks. Best part was that her English was near fluency level, and she had a sweet personality. CBJ, but otherwise excellent performance. We showered together, and she was very affectionate, into DATY, into FIV, FIA. I got her cell, and I will definitely repeat with her, maybe even a couple more times, and save the $20 propina for the tout. I'd give her an 8 on looks. 8+ on performance, and 8+ on personality. When I repeat with her, I might see what she wants for a long time with some social time, because she was fun and sweet and easy to talk to.

When I first visited 6 years ago, the Coco verde hotel would have 20 to 30 putas hanging around the outside bar. 4 years later they had to sit on the steps of the hotel and no more than 8 were there. This year only three at a time and maybe two or three by the Lizard lounge. All demanding $100, what a joke. Got them to $50 plus propinas. Before they has some qualty ass now they screw like a car wash. Even a tranvestite in town. As to monger activity keep your dollars in your pocket, I packed by condoms and lube days ago, just not worth it. For me Curacao and Sosua are great, good prices and Colombians in Curacao and Dominicans in Sosua know how act / perform. CR is full of putas that have attitude and screw like dead chickens.

I will be staying in Tamarindo on 4/28, 29, 30. I am trying to decide between the following:

Barcelo Langosta Beach. I figure NOT chica friendly.

Best Western Tamarindo Vista Villas. I gather IS chica friendly.

Sunrise Condominiums. Unknown.

Peninsula Condominiums. Unknown.

Any regular know of these and their relative friendliness toward chicas from local bars coming home with me. .

Avoiding Diria because I read here that they are NOT friendly but would consider if they have changed their policy.

Anyone in Tamarindo can depend on a regular bevy of options in and around town at a couple of nightspots.

The Pacifico Bar which is down by the turnaround has about 8-12 ladies in waiting on an average night. They are mostly Dominicans and range from 5s to 8s. No fatties or skanks. Just cute normal girls with a few really cute ones mixed in. Talked with almost all of them. They are mnore than happy to socialize and even dance a bit. Going rate is 100US for an hour. A lot are there waiting for awhile so some bargaining might work.

Ladies night is Wednesday, so that usually attracts a lot of the locals and vacationing surfers. Imperials are 1500C.

For Happy Hours locales. A better place is the La Palapa. Where every night 5-7pm is 2 for 1s. So the Imperials are 1000.

Sharkey's just down the street and around the corner has music and karaoke and another contingent of ladies as well

Any info on the transportation from the Liberia airport to Coco, hotels in Coco or anything else that may be useful would be appreciated

Stayed 3 nights here and explored the coasts of Golfo Dulce and vicinity of Puerto Jimenez. Stayed at the Hotel Centro Turistico Samoa. Real nice large air conditioned room with two queen beds for 20,000c a night double. Built and owned by a French couple for 20 plus years and run by their son and daughter. Great Bar and decent food.

Latitude 8 bar was a good hang out. Not because it's a Gringo hang out owned by Gringos, but because of its central location. In the middle of a seedy bar block with lots of working girls. Business has got to be bad. These girls were hanging outside the Latitude 8. Got a BBBJCIM in the park for 5,000c. Took one 19 year old hottie back to the hotel for full service for 10,000c.

Stay away from the Banana Marina Bar. 1,600c for an Imperial.

Glad you found the Latitude Ocho. I have some good memories of that place.

Was the 19 YO named Michelle? She is a real hottie and would be about that age now.
