I did check SA, but don't want to pay the $90 for this short trip, a week, and nothing only San Jose and that seems to be too far for them to go. I am on Tinder but only San Jose and the few I have matched with said SJ is much better than San Ramon.

After some efforts on tinder, it turned out that most girls are from San Jose or nearby areas. I found a girl who is willing to play house during my entire trip without mention of any money but video chat revealed that she is the one I would like to pay to leave. So had to back off from that. Now again a plea to the brothers, anyone having a lead in Liberia / tamarindo area, please pass it along.

I finally have something to report from my trip. I was persistent in my efforts and got a gal interested in chatting. She was from the San Jose area but during conversation, I broke the ice by telling that how much I would love to see her in Tamarindo. She replied by saying that she might come for some dinero. We settled for couple of nights for $600 with her arranging the transportation. Looking at how hot she was in the pictures and how horny And desperate I was, I said ok. Plus she did not ask for any money upfront. Long story short, she showed up a bit late than I expected though. She was a stunner and to my surprise did not have a hooker vibe. It's been a few years but I spent about 10 days there and there is no action there. There used to be a pretty fun party at the Best Western on Friday nights I remember there were a couple girls working outside the venue I couldn't remember if they were trans or really ugly or both but nothing I was interested in.

That being said, there is decent nightlife, especially thurs-sun (I went in February). And some horny locals and visiting girls. Had a good chance to hook up with a surfer girl from Hawaii who was 20 years younger than me but decided against it as she was married and I have SO and prefer paid arrangements.

I met some pretty cool locals there and they spoke good English. Was trying to get the nerve up to ask them about P4 P but never did. Like any city try the taxi drivers. ID be willing to bet the quality of p4 p in tamarindo is lacking but am a firm believer that you can find a diamond in the rough in any locale!

Guys, I have never been to the Costa Rica scene. From what I have understood so far, jako beach is the happening area while Tamarindo is mostly cold. Unfortunately I do not have time to visit Jako during my trip that is scheduled for next month. I would love to here any advise from the knowledgeble folks out there that can help me get some play time while I am there. My spanish is pretty elementary also and I know that's a major drawback anywhere in south or central america. I have been trying tinder and haven't got any significant hit so far. Anyone got any contact they are willing to share? Thanks.

If the option is Jaco, how long would it take by car from Tamarindo?

Three and a half hours to drive to Tamarindo. At SJO airport, I rent a car for $65 a day with no liability and full coverage on everything.

You will find this visit as last visit. I was there in January and the vibe is still the same. It is what it is, if your looking for a nicer beach and a little more upscale environment, definitely a bit more euros around.

If your on the hunt, Jaco is the only beach game going that can offer the diversity in such a small area.

Girl I went to visit there in January was leaving to go home to Columbia as the beach massage gig was getting slow.

Seems the gringos are not flocking to CR as much as the price and attitude vs the current dollar exchange has opened up new destinations for some.

All in all, I would have to say Tamarindo is in decline and Jaco is still going 100 mph, just maters how fast you want to go.

I was at the secrets resport in Guanacaste region. About 20 minutes from Liberia. I rented a local guy to drive me over to coco beach. On the way to Coco, we passed a place called club amnesia. It was 10 minutes from secrets. He told me you could get a girl there for an hour for $40. As I was not travelling alone, I could not ask details. If this helps anyones planning or has more details to share with brothers, let us know.
