I have been asked yellow fewer vaccination once when I went from DAR to Zanzibar by boat. Immigration officers wanted to express that Zanzibar is autonomic and almost independent country, so they demanded passport and yellow fever vaccination. I had left my vaccination card to mainland, after some complaints they just let me in. Bigger problem was that two Tanzanian girls did not had their ID with them, we had to go to some office before going back. This was some years ago, hopefully nothing like that in Zanzibar anymore.

Yellow fever vaccination is nowadays considered as lifetime, just need to be taken once in your life. So better just take it and then carry that yellow vaccination paper in your luggage.

I was leaving Nairobi 2 years ago and had a late flight to Bangkok. My taxi and I were harassed at the airport check point by a sentry looking for some cash. I was surprised but he seriously wanted some cash. Not from me. I was dropped outside the terminal where there was a lineup to get inside. When I got to the front of the line, my suitcase was x-rayed and my papers checked. The guard asked for passport, ticket and proof of yellow fever vaccine. I was surprised again and he looked unhappy when I produced my yellow vaccination book. Another shakedown?

    from IATA travel Centre

Passengers entering or transiting through Kenya must have a negative COVID-19 PCR test taken at most 96 hours before arrival. The test result must be in English.

Your reports are great and I enjoy reading them. There will always be those uneducated, pre-programmed or personality disordered even amongst mongers on this forum, often in the peanut gallery. Personally I put HIV on the lower rung of STDs to be obsessed with. For anyone with access to retrovirals it has become like HSV II to me; you won't kill it, but neither will it kill you.

I've always also been suspect of catching HIV in straight relations, oral or vaginal, but might consider using a PrEP agent like Descovy. Descovy is not an entirely benign drug so I'm not sold on taking it just yet.

I always take Doxy (good adjunct as both an anti-malarial and for limited std coverage). Before returning to CONUS I'll take one time doses of a broad spectrum, 3rd gen cephalosporin like cefuroxime and have added a one time dose of flagyl for trichomoniasis, given it's prevalence.

    Hiv results negative

Well I must confess my knowledge of hiv self test kit and hiv was limited. You would think being a mongerer I would be more educated. After my stay in Kenya I got my diploma. At first I could not stay consistent with having protected sex leaving myself at risk. Secondly encountering a girl that insisted I take the self test kit after having unprotected sex. Third having a girl panickly texting me after having unprotected sex. 4th having a girl saying I need to use a condom then that girl sticking my dick in her raw. 5th having a girl I had unprotected sex with twice refuse to take a self kit test. Scary! These incidents open my eyes to be more knowledgeable and careful about hiv. Thankfully my self test was negative throughout my stay in Kenya. But that test offers no guarantee til after 90 days because its not done by needle. So I waited 45 days to get clinically tested by drawing of the blood in the US. Test results negative. In summary Blakman stay in Kenya was without incident and having tested negative after my return assures trip was a success. Chao to the haters who predicted imprisonment LOL.
