Is the abbreviation for an apartment complex. They are very good and reasonable. They are on Turbo Road down from So. African embassy on opposite side of block from Casablanca.

Only a short distance also from YaYa Center.

Ok, it's a bit away from the action uptown (Madhouse, Simmers.) but once you have found one or two chicks you will mostly stick to them anyway (well, I do). I always have a great time there, and as mentioned earlier, you can order your ladies to your liking from the guards, they are more than willing to help you out. Give them a little bakschisch, they in turn will take some from the girl also, and you will get them delivered to your room without problems. Ask for a room on the lower floors and the windows not facing the street (the auxiliary power generator is standing that way-lots of noise when power cut).

"You don't have to enter the main hotel building, no walk of shame, absolutely nothing! Once you get the key, you can have as many visitors as you want."

By the way, are there any other hotels, for a cheaper price than the fairview ofcourse, that have this type of setup? This is truly a perfect setup.

I once stayed in a hotel where the setup was quite different; there was a main gate to seal off the hotel, a garden in the middle, and the reception was at the back. The rooms were lined at the sides of the garden so if you brought a visitor, you didn't have to pass by reception. It was about 2000 shillings a night. The draw back was that the entrance to the garden was on the opposite side of the reception, so they still have a view of whats going happening. Don't know if they were GF friendly or not.

Are you on an expense account? If not:

5 min walk (or less) from the hilton.

All the bigger hotels require registration and I don't consider that GF as there are plenty of ladies who don't have or don't carry I'd and that can be a serious spoiler.

Couldn't agree more. If you must go into one of the expensive hotels then forget about Hilton (sub standard) , forget about Stanley (noisy). I agree that many places in the Upper Hill region are very beautiful. Fairview is one of them and the Crowne Plaza is also really nice. However please bear in mind that almost all hotels in Upper Hill are now strictly non-smoking. Most of the ladies are serial smokers and that can become a spoiler too.

I stayed at Hilton in 2006 last time so difficult to say something about their policy nowadays.

Hilton was GF in 2005. However, no chance to avoid "walk of shame" and I had to register one lady.

In my opinion, Hilton is not worth the money. Small rooms, maybe 3 stars, not more.

At Fairview I stayed twice and each time I booked for First Class Single Room. Rate is high (13, 600 KSH) but I was lucky to have the room paid by my company.

The First Class rooms are located in a separate building, located across the street. There is also a separate entrance gate to this building directly from the street.

You don't have to enter the main hotel building, no walk of shame, absolutely nothing! Once you get the key, you can have as many visitors as you want.

OK, there are cameras everywhere but nobody cares.

The rooms are very comfortable, perfect beds and huge bathrooms, good breakfast.

In general, the Fairview Nairobi is a real treasure in Nairobi.

    Check the website.

    www.fairviewkenya.com

You will find there a youtube movie showing exactly the way from check in to the room.

If you decide to book for Fairview, book the room with the "longer walk from reception" and your full privacy is guaranteed.

    Good luck and have fun

    Hilton, Fairview are GF hotels?

But don't forget to negociate the price!

Going from N. O. A. To the city, just ask the security guy at the gate to call a taxi for you. Usually very nice guys BTW.

Have a chat with them, give them a gift or a small tip: during my stay they were a good source of any information (taxi fares, clubs, food, shopping etc).

They even can arrange for girl (girls) if you don't want to go to the city.

One day I was not in mood to go to the city so I asked the guy at the gate to arrange for girls. No problem at all!

After half an hour 2 girls (students) arrived (OK, one was totally stoned). I took them both, nice threesome.

The advantage of this place is: it's quiet at night and safe.

    Nairobi city centre is loud.

However, if you prefer to be in the "middle of action", don't go to the N. O. A.

I was staying at Hilton (expensive as hell and not good at all) and Fairview (very nice but even more expensive than Hilton).

I certainly would book it again. But next time I would insist on having my apartment not at the highest floor: there is no lift which means: endless stairs! And the water prsssure was not that good. But everything else was perfect for me. : clean, nice furnished, full equipped kitchen, swimming pool, privacy, free internet, very nice staff.
    Thanks for the detailed explanation.

My last consern is how easy to get a taxi around bar areas (such as New Florida) at night.

You know in some cities it is very difficult to find a taxi at night.

Therefore, staying in a hotel nearby the theme becomes a good option.

Can you elaborate a little bit on the taxi issues? Thanks.

The Taxis are always hanging around outside waiting. You will have no problem. I took the numbers of a couple of reliable non rip-off drivers and just buzzed them which worked ok.
