Hi,

Can anyone offer advice on buying Viagra/Cialis etc in Nairobi - where and prices? I have a few days in town just before Christmas and I always like to carry some back up these days.

Like virtually all other prescription drugs, they are available without prescription from any drugstore (or "Chemist" as they are called in Kenya).

Viagra is typically sold for 3, 200 to 3, 800 per 4pak, but beware of fakes! There are lots of them and they are sometimes difficult to spot. You might be better off asking for a knock-off yourself.

I always use VEGA Made in India and find it as effective as the real thing. It goes for 1, 000 per pack. Make sure you get the 100mg version and not the 50mg, sold at the same price!

I usually bite off roughly half a tablet and keep the other half for another day. Beware as well of buying single pills in cut-up foil. You don't know where they are coming from even though the clerk pulls them out of a regular Viagra retail pack! CIALIS is about twice the cost and there are no generic sustitutes being sold (which doesn't mean there are no fakes in the market)

Hi Barri,

There is no danger as long as you watch your glass. Anyway. Like I mentioned earlier. The security in Nairobi has really improved. Only be careful when moving out of the main town. Areas like Ngara, Zimmermann, Dandora, Kayole, Rongai, Thika, Kiambu, Satelite, Jogoo Road might be dangerous for carjacking and should be avoided after nightfall. Town Center and surrounding districts are more or less quite safe. Still avoid dark streets at night when you work. I recently walked around Central Business District from Koinange to Moi Avenue and there was nothing of a threat, but I am like a local after more than 5 years of living here.

The Ngong Hills Hotel and Forest Lodge are very safe, but don't walk on Ngong Road after 7 pm you might encounter some bad dudes, my office is just 200m from there and my secretary was mugged some weeks back.

After the my post about the upper clubs I would like to give you an alternate for a low cost night. Most people will not know Ngong Hills Hotel on Ngong Road (10 minutes from town center. Hurlingham). The fare for the taxi should not be more than 400 KES (I pay 350)!...

Thanks Nairob for this info. Good to learn about a "new" place. I prefer the low end/rough places, and this sounds like one. Hope to be able to try it out before New Year. However, is it safe to go there alone if you take normal precautions? In your first post you issued a warning about the bars in Hurlingham.

Also thanks for the tip on perfumes. Probably better than ear-rings and stuff.

... I asked a hotel in Mombasa if they allowed overnight guests via email and the answer in writing was a straight "No". When I arrived it was explained to me by the madam that I was allowed girlfriends in my room, they just have to be registered at the desk when you bring them, no extra charge. When I protested "I can't beieve you are saying this (in front of a rather sexy receptionist), got a broad smile and told "This is Mombasa". They are just being discreet until they see you face to face....

Hi Kampala, which hotel in Mombasa would that be? What did you pay? I'm going there for New Year and haven't booked anything yet.

Any chemist or pharmacy. As with all drugs no prescription needed. Cialis about 1800KES for 2 tablets if my memory is correct. It's so expensive that I get the guy behind the counter to throw in a couple of condoms for free (like a bit of a discount)...

Btw how are the indian ladies in Nairobi/Mombasa?

The only way I've managed to get anything "Indian" is via the Mamasan network that operates in Nairobi and Mombasa. However I use the term "Indian" loosely- these are usually a mix of Arab and Indian (sometimes more).

Girls are typically very business-like and not much fun. No LT, very short ST (one shot). BJ of any kind not entertained. GFE? Ha! Don't be silly. On the plus side the hygiene and manners are usually very good. Prices for these girls vary from 5-6k plus 1-2k for the Mamasan.

I don't usually keep any phone numbers for the Mamasan's but you can spot them quite easily in the high end clubs like Pavement and Undecided in Nairobi and Pirates in Mombasa. Usually overly made-up, overweight, indian-looking girls in gaudy clothes. Their prime customers seem to be the affluent young Indian (and African) boys who frequent these joints. They usually don't come to the Floridas unless the other clubs are dead or they're not looking for customers, just cheap booze and good music...

I personally try to stay away from them as it's a bit of a rip off and unless you value the novelty of the act of sleeping with an "Indian" above all else you're seriously wasting time and money.

This is not to say you won't find some good ones. Rare, though. I've had better experiences in Mombasa, as sex seems to the biggest business there so there's more competition, variety etc etc.

Anyhow once you've been with the girl you can take her cell number and call her directly, cutting out the "middlewoman" and hassle. Once again this is not something that I bother with as these girls have really perfected the art of sucking all the money out of a man's pockets without even touching him.

Usually when I need a change from the usual "black beauties" and am not feeling brave enough for a Somali (probably the craziest race on the planet), I look for Ethiopians or the the Madhouse Arabs like the famous-Mona. Indian-esque with better service (and price)...

And don't even think about those pretty young Indian girls you see gyrating away on the dance floor in the some of the better clubs. They won't give you the time of day let alone their pussies!

The Hotel has a small club with a bar and a dance floor. The place looks quite nice and drinks are all around 100 KES. Because of the neighborhood of Kibera (biggest slum in Nairobi & Africa) you will find a lot of hungry young girls from there in this bar. The number varies from 10 to 60 depending on the time (best from 23:00 to 1:00) and the day (best Thursday-Saturday). Many of this girls are real amateurs and you find also some refugees from Sudan (the asylum is not far from there) and if you're lucky you will get home with a nice looking 21 year old for as little as 1, 000 KES

Tell you what! this is good info. Sent you off to ROD. We do not frequent much more than the usual haunts in Nairobi, makes one feel like a dumb ass, going to all the same joints repeatedly and paying the proverbial 2000kes+ for the honey.

Love to meet "real girls" who no doubt are "plentiful" at Ngong Hills hotel club, cheaper going rate at that.

When you compare the opportunities here in Africa with the one you have in the western world than it is quite understandable why these girls are looking for a way out.

If Kenya girl is more than 20 years younger than mzungu, no visa (to live in Europe). Of course you can live with your daughter in Kenya.
