A lot of hit-and-runs, likes or 'Hi' etc. But when I chat and actually try to get them to meet, like 'right now' - get a bunch of excuses. 'Next week darling' or 'I'm occupied now'. Last night at midnight actually looking for an escort to come to the hotel - (was sort of desperate) but when I'd call either no pick up, or numbers wrong. Figure most of the escort sites are bait-and-switch regardless.
Maybe it's a long time thing. You have to start chatting them days (or weeks) in advance. Dunno.

I haven't found anyplace in CBD worth pulling from. Stunning how lackluster the quality of girls were in Sabina. I walked along the street last night looking for a streetwalker. In my past I haven't been too particular about what I stick my dick into, but even I couldn't bear to pull the girls I saw lined up. I heard they were aggressive, but that wasn't the situation last night. Also, that's not the case for the 'street life'.
Stopped and watched a crowd gathered around a guy laying down in a closed shop-front getting the shit kicked out of him. Not sure what he did. But it was mob mentality.
Then I hopped in a cab to go to Black Diamonds, 2 min after I'm in. A teenager in red shirt runs right in front of taxi, I'm in front seat with window open so literally 3' away. Big motherfucking guy comes out of no-where. Grabs his shoulder and yanks him back into the street in front of us. Then over the next 5 min proceeds to hit him, do an awesome head butt, then flip open the back of his car and he and his buddies force him in the trunk and drive off. Not to mention the kids friends who got first pushed. Then punched in the face trying to help. A crowed gathered but no police. A security guard came over but it was too wild for him to wade in. We we stuck in the mob all around us with front-row seats since the trunk was about 4 ft from the front of our taxi. Having your taxi surrounded by violence and that crowd. With no exit was unnerving. I'm assuming the kid stole something and in the trunk he went. And off to police station. Or get beat up. Not sure.
These guys in CBD are fucking serious.
Black Diamond. I wanted to hit the strip club across the hall. But guess that's gone now. It's MUSE an empty club.
Same freelancers from the night before. A few cute girls, a few 50 yo foreigners dancing around drunk pretending they're 22 and yelling in the girls faces, all in all. Just same sad expat scene you can see from here to Hong Kong. Girls were okay, but seemed pretty stuck up with their knockoff Chanel bags and demure gazes. Wasn't worth the taxi back to CBD hotel, walk of shame, and $50 - $100 for a quick shag with a princess.
Will save it for Mombasa.
On the other hand. Went to Kibera and felt no bad vibe at all. Just a lot of people saying Hello, no hard stares, no shoulder bumps etc. CBD is the frigging worst.

Even so, the area is much safer & appealing than River Road. Since you seem adventurous, try there and give us a report.
I too have been amazed by the members here who have gone to Sabina Joy, even before it was 'cleaned up'. Back in its original days, I NEVER have gone there, and wouldn't even if the women were paying *me*. I still wouldn't, I can't imagine it being worth the cheap lay. I'ld rather spend more in Westlands, snotty uppity malaya and all.
I can't think of one place in CBD that I would recommend to any mongerer.
Nowadays, it's either Westlands bars, Brew Bistro on Ngong Rd (this is not in Westlands), or worse-to-worse (in terms of nonsensical highpriced action) Mercury Lounge in ABC Place or the bar at the pool in Intercontinental Hotel.
These are sad days for mongering in Nairobi. End of an era.

Sabina joy was overhauled I believe a few years back, drastically changed. Now it is just another CBD bar with over loud music but does have women available as you say, whether on the day you find anything is another thing.
White mongers will be using badoo or tinder from comfy coffee shops or their hotels and arranging meets. They will also be going to the Westland bars on a weekend like Havana, Gypsy, Black diamond or Brew bistro. That is my MO in Nbi as well as hitting on anything I see in shops or on the street.

Sabina Joy.
You walk up a few flights of stairs and alight in the middle of. A sausage fest. Place was very packed at 5:30 pm on a Saturday.
It's a dark railroad-flat style club - 3 rooms in a row. Two bars front / back. Beers like 220 or something. Looks like you take the girls upstairs to beds.
Unsure why this place gets as much love as it does on this board, if it's always as I experienced it. Maybe 8 or 10 guys per girl. And maybe only 12 - 14 girls in the place (yes, over 100 guys) and only 3 doable girls. The rest were fuglies and fatties. The guys were just sitting around holding their bottles, and the few doable girls were in the middle of a group of guys that were plying them with multiple rounds of drinks. Not exactly the knocking-shop I was hoping for.
Also curious what race most mongers are that like Nairobi. I've only been in Africa weeks and have yet to see another white guy in these type clubs (or Eithiopia, Djibouti, Somolia etc). When I see them they're at places like Blacks or the hotel bars. Are white guys really wandering in and out of Sabina Joy and River Road and all the rest solo?
Then walked to River Road - #61, only 4 girls outside, tried to go upstairs but the gate was locked on second floor. Girls said there were girls inside but they were sleeping. Really? At 6:30 pm? The available girls were not looking like they just got made up for the prom. So I passed. Sorry, I love to shag. But I'm not coming back here at night to monger. Walked down River to Chillers. But I couldn't find it. I didn't bring my phone with me. Just piece of paper / map. I thought you turned left on Kumsai (SP) street and it's the second block. No-one knew what I was talking about.
Backtracked to Applebees. It's on the corner and has changed it's name. Went upstairs and it appears to be closed. Second floor looks like it was once a club. But grate was locked and empty. Said 'reception upstairs' and again. Locked. Meh.
Dark by 7 pm so grabbed a taxi back to hotel. Personally, I wouldn't suggest ANY white guy (or any green, purple, polka-dotted) guy to make that walk. I got more hard stares, shoulder bumps, and teenage boys messing around with me then anywhere I've been.
Overall, can't impressed with Nairobi (so far) as a mongering destination. A lot of dodgy walking to the CBD / river clubs, very few good looking girls, and the city is literally fucked. Almost any other destination has offered a better yield. Jakarta, Addis, Havana, Colombia. You name it.
Loved the artwork on the buses though and some of the rundown aesthetic.
Might try some more of the regular bars tonight. But not walking along river or around Archive, Moi etc on my own again. With bright blonde hair and skin like a snowman I'm just asking for some bad shit to happen.

Short answer there is. You take a step down in looks and either there old or just worn out looking. I don't properly lock down my valuables at times yet the only time I "dropped" my phone (after being told several times to keep my phone out of sight) was on River Road. When I went to the ATM I noticed it was gone, I backtracked and I was told that I "dropped it" and I went ahead and gave her 4 k as a tip for finding my phone.
Thank god I have a strong password or I wouldn't have gotten it back. I went to a cell shop the next day and asked the guy could be break into my Iphone he said it was impossible.
Moral to the story stay away from River Road.

Flight delays coming from Addis. Didn't get in until 9 pm.
Changed money right inside the airport which seemed a little low (97) - my app is showing 99.7. However once I left the interior of the airport the rates strangely got even worse (95/96).
Hotel picked me up and easy transfer into the city.
10:30 pm decided a smart thing to do would be stroll around Moi Ave and Tom Mboya. Looking for a knocking shop. After three blocks quickly realized this was not a smart idea = instead, it was a really dumb fucking idea. Maybe still culture shock but a ton of young guys hanging out, and maybe 2 approaches per block. Was getting more attention than I liked.
Dove into a taxi and asked to go to only place I could remember. Black Diamond. 500, not sure what's normal, but everything seems cheap after Djibouti.
11 pm place started filling up with expats and freelancers. At least 5 pretty hot girls I would have done, but too much beer and Xanax, or lack of drive, or just not knowing how it works. Read so many stories of Nairobi girls screaming and being pushed out of hotel rooms etc etc. Wanted to approach a skinny spinner at the bar, but meh. Just wasn't into it. Beer was pretty inexpensive 350, and the bar food was good enough.
There's a strip bar right across from BD? I wanted to go in. But my waitress already got a taxi for me, so just headed back to hotel around midnight. Better luck tomorrow (hopefully).
Need to do more research. Mostly interested in the streets around the center, strip bars, and river road. But now that I'm here. Seeing that it's a lot more hard core than I imagined.

Any guesses how long this is going to go on? I'm in touch with a girl who works at Jomo Kenyatta and she was the one to tell me about the strike which I later saw on the news (nothing about it here in Europe). Alltho the news (Africa news) claim it's over, she told me the ground crew is still on strike and there are lots of delays and canceled flights.
Cheers.

Africa is the last place to be ruined monger wise The problem is people rarely go to Africa so mainly the foreign mongers are expense account guys. When you're making 55 K USD living in a compound with a car and driver You're not concerned about overpaying for a girl. There was an Kenyan celebrity chick that messaged a man that she'd be willing for 500 USD But that's a exceptionally beautiful girl who was a celebrity in her own right. If I were an expense account NGO country director then I'd pay 500 to say I knocked off a celebrity. But since I'm a broke ass retiree I'll stick to the poor and unknown chicks for 2 to 3 K and that's for all night.
