I was in Matwapa 7 yrs ago for a month, stayed at marryvilla apartmemts. Was a reasonable safe place, conviniemy located for Casurina where I picked up wondweful girls; is marry villa still existing? Can anybody suggest any good aprtments please? I am scanning through rtff, being a 67 yrs dirty old git I am seruggling!! Happy mongering guys.

I walked down the entire length of Mombasa beach and the main busy area of Jomo Kenyatta Beach today (Sunday), didn't see one girl on Mombasa, there was hardly any people never mind girls to be fair. And Jomo seemed mainly family and friends the usual style but not so much regards to nice girls or even any girls apart from 5 year old kids playing around, lots of guys though if that's anybody's thing. No massages to be seen.

I am not complaining, was just surprised because I had heard so much and not a big drinker more into meeting girls in other ways so headed to the beach. It was between 2-4 pm.

Curious on others opinions.

Are the girls looking for guys and massage girls in a different area now or was this just an unlucky day or bad time of the day or something else?

Would love to know.

Don't believe all that crap. You can get laid 24/7. There is pros semis and nonpros. I never heard that handshake nonsense. Just don't let your Tusker unattended. Drink spiking does exist. Don't get obsessed worrying about security. In Africa there is only freelancers. No touts no mamasans no barfines. Every to his own. Free enterprise system. I wrote many times how to spot potentially bad apples. Don't get excessively drunk. Use common sense. I am not going to reiterate about security issues again. RTFF. Book a flight and find out for yourself. Africa is not for everyone. Either you run away screaming or you throw away your return ticket to BKK.

Thanks Ned, I do intent to follow pretty much all of your advice and me being primarily concern about my safety doesn't mean I'm being paranoid just that since I don't think getting a girl or many girls will be any problem, my focus turn now to the equally important, safety. Now the question about the handshake was just to confirm if it was bullshit which thanks to you and Mombie I did and it became obvious this friend of mine just want to tag along and make it more interesting for me to take her as she offer security or maybe she has other objectives, who knows. I have read not just all the posts from last year but also your posts, even the ones about Madagascar man you certainly know your way in the African continent. I'm done with Thailand unless a huge game changer occurs which I doubt will happen but if I don't like Kenya due to an unpleasant experience, I'm sure there are other places or I'll just take it as you did and accept it as entrance fee to paradise Thanks again for the advice.

In Mombasa the hunting does not take much energy, Kenyans will always respond to a Hello,. If you see a girl then say Hi, take her for a drink and the odds are in your favour hugely you will fuck her. As for the drug thing, it is very very rare but has happened that they put something in your drink when in your room, like I state it is very very rare. If your in clubs it is more likely you will be hunted.

Thanks Mombie and your reply sounds like music to my ears, love the idea of being hunted and be able to hunt as well and I'm sure its not to hard to get a girl hahaha and you like other old hands saying 90% is game makes it sound like the whole place is more or less a huge redlight district.

As for the drug thing, of course I won't leave my beer unattended, in fact I don't think I'll drink anything other than beer and hold it in my hand at all times with my thumb covering the opening. Won't carry any cards while I'm out clubbing just enough cash, keep my valuables in an aluminium case secured in the room as Ned suggested, etc etc. Then again things may not be as bad so I'll just evaluate when I'm there. Thank you Bob and you're very much right about it, Money issue came up with the first one and is just about to come up with the second one so probably just a matter of time before the rest follow. The Thailand plan is not going to happen, so the question is more should I risk it and go alone to Mombasa or I take my chances finding an African girl in Pattaya. Sound crazy to travel to Pattaya to find an African tho when I could do it in Kenya where there should be plenty. I have seen all of them also in camera in fact the first one gave me a print of her passport. But still I won't risk it and better to hunt there and see what gives. I certainly don't want to join the scammed stats.

The Mombasa county has announced that in February they will start "revamping" the public Kenyatta Beach in Bamburi, whatever that means.

But it will be "spectacular" as they say...

That could explain the court-cases threatening Big Tree at the moment.

I wonder what this will mean for Big Tree, Pirates etc.

They want to bring back the tourists but they will not come back. Those stupid don't understand that hotel price and traffic nightmare and many serious issue make us to leave. High price plus high risk mean goodbye.

Probably the best post I have read so far. When you say not to deposit valuables in the hotel safe, do you mean the safety box in the room? If so, where do I keep my passport, cash, credit cards etc?

Good. Finally you do your homework. Use the search function and go through all neddy69 posts in Mombasa and Nairobi section. There is all to know. Hotel safes. Don't forget if you have a master key you can enter any safe and remove some banknotes. I prefer a good german Rimowa Aluminium Hardcase which I complement with a local bought steelchain and padlock.

Guys. Forget about going to clubs in Africa. You can score with ANY girl be it in the matatu, ask your hairdresser, your pedicure, the girl at the supermarket cashier's desk the girls shopping at african markets. Smile at her if she smiles back. Say Jambo. Nini namba yako? What is your telephone number? Fix date. Take her for a soda. After ask her to listen to some music in the room. Do NOT talk about sex or money. Shag her. Depending on circumstances she ll spend the night or not. Do never force the issue. So far I haven't been disappointed either with the GF experience game but then again this is Kenya and the women may be different. Allthou every woman has an objective is most of the time money and a better life. Figuring out how they wish to achieve it and if I'm successful in laying out an option that will favour my objective may be the difference between a nightmare or a good vacation.
