After 3 hours in Mtawapa he told me he can't stay there and want to feel like a tourist so I took him to kahama. The guy was new to africa and knew nothing about mombasa. In just only one day after he got there he was surrounded with 3 stunners and and for the entire time of his vacation there was always 3 or 4 different girls waiting for him at the pool.
His technique was simple, he used the security guys to spread the rumour that a generous mzungo new in mombasa is looking for fun and company. This guy didn't ask how much, what time and never read any forum before but was wise to make the girls works for him and spread the rumour even further. As a result he was surrounded with many girls without even getting from the hotel compound.
When I came to visit him from the slum I was staying, I saw him turning the pool to a studio and trying some Fashion and glamour photography with his new camera. Everyone works from him the hotel stuff, the girls drivers, hotel chef etc.
The point is simple, If you want mombasa to became a dream it will only be limited by your imagination and your ability and readiness to execute. Previous mongering or field experiences is not required.

Then prices went steep up so I move to Mtwapa but the downside was a compromise in accommodation security. The security guy (Askari) always sleep at night. You can visit multiple times without problem only because of the nature of statistics. You can feel safe not only in the hotel but also as you walk at night to Casaurina. But this is an Illusion. Its like the Antelope herd crossing the river while the Crocodiles in the water. Sometimes the Complete their journey, sometimes they have small or big injuries and sometimes they totally out of luck.
I was working with the police multiple times when I was a resident so I have broad idea about what's going on. The hotel owners and the police will tell you that they have never heard about a single incident for the last 10 years.
For me only one of big hotels in Diani with more Guards then the CIA HQ in Langley will make me feel safe. Until then I will keep going and coming back safe from Asia or other African countries.
Keep mongering but wise.
