I heard that all buses & trains out of Mombasa to Nairobi, Kisumu & the like are fully booked for at least 10 days to come.
So there is no way to get out of Mombasa now before the elections, unless you have your own transport (or by plane maybe.) .

Posts: 2Thanks Tuddle for your update.
I would like your help.
Which hotel you stayed in Bamburi?
Transportation cost from bamburi to mombasa town or mtwaba or any other beach you have been?
Which transport: Bus / motorbike or taxi?
Its easy to transport around those areas with tuk tuk mombasa style or something else?
Travelling also solo in November and only issue I have is where to stay according transportation options, so I will be able to move around for sighseeing / swimming / street food and fun.
Thanks in advance for your time.

OK, I've been here a week's time now and here are my experience so far.
In general the whole area is very quiet. It seems like the elections is having a deep impact on everything tourist and combined with the low season, it's almost ghostly at times.
The only two places that is happening in the weekdays seems to be Casuarina and Safari Inn. Plenty of girls and only a handfull of wazungu.
The weekends is a whole different story. All the regular places like Sheba, The Lounge etc got some really good action going on.
My favourite experience so far was Hypnotica on Saturday. Not really a monger place, this is more like a nightclub with an international standard, and is supposedly the best club in town.
The hottest chicks I've seen so far! Not many wazungu, this is where the cool locals go to party. Not the place for slippers and dirty t-shirts. But if you put on a nice outfit and.
Don't mind spending some cash on drinks and shisa, you can make a lot of new friends here and have a really good time. The atmosphere was really welcoming, plenty of small groups of girls looking for a good time.
None of the girls I talked to seemed to be WG's but even though I'm probably twice their age, most seemed really eager to hook up. I was there until 7-8 in the morning and left with a 19 y hottie.
I did spend some money on drinks and the aforementioned shisa, but money was never discussed with the girl. I gave her around 2000 the next day for "taxi". She didn't even count it, and seemed embarrassed to take it.
Great experience, and highly recommended if you want to hunt instead of being hunted. It's still like hunting in a game resort.
This is my first time in Kenya, but I have quite a lot of experience with Africa, including Dar es Salaam. So far, Kenyan girls seems best for GFE. The non-pro's are very approachable and easy to hook up with.
The pro's seem very pro, and too hardened for my taste. But it could be that the election and the low season brings out the hardest hustlers and that the more inexperienced ones stay at home.
In fact, I prefer girls still in their teens or early 20's and so far I've been a little disappointed with the regular mongering clubs as the average seems more milfy than teeny.
Everyone I've talked to say that Mombasa Town is dead when it comes to clubs and partying. Nyali, Bamburi and Mtwapa is where the action is they say.
So I haven't bothered to check out Casablanca yet, the rumour is that it's heydays are over.
So to sum it up, in the weekends the mall clubs (Sheba, The lounge, Tapas etc) are a good option. But in the weekdays Mtwapa is the best bet. This place is always happening and I've talked to girls.
Who go to Casuarina after being bored of the lack of action at Sheba. It seems all roads leads to this place. Also many of the girls who hang at Safari Inn end up there in the end of the night.
I have one question though I hope someone can help me with. A driver told me that there is brothels (private houses) in the Nyali area where you can find Indian and Arab girls.
He didn't know any specifics though. I love black booty, but would really like to try something else as well while I'm here. A Muslim girl is sort of a fantasy for me.
I've had no luck so far getting any more info on this, it seems like this is really underground due to cultural stigma. Does anyone have more info on this?

I was in Diani and Nairobi a couple of weeks ago. I met several Luo, Luhya and a Kissii who will go back home during election time although it seemed to be as much about the anticipated lack of tourists as about any possible violence. One is moving to Kampala for a month, 'I'm a hustler, what else can I do?' she said.
I imagine the coast will be fine and they won't be targeting tourists in any case.

Who is Obuto? You seem to be expert on kenyan politics? I don't care about elections only erections. Haha.
Ah you mean Uhuruto. Of course the Luos want him out. Its tribal. Everybody seems to be afraid of a 2007 repeat. But its 2017. 2013 I was there to watch Uhurus Inauguration. At that time there was a spate of tourist killings in Old town. And riots about extrajudicial killings of imams through security forces. Its about sharp rising food prices and draught declared in half of kenyan counties. And public debt piled up by jubilee. Well I ll report from pre and postelection.
Neddy.
Who hopes to have a lot of erections during elections.
23 days more to go.
I would be more worried about Al Kebab. The cuttroats just attacked a police station in Lamu...

I was once forcefully evacuated from Kenya around New Year some 9 years ago. We were driven to the airport in a bus with an armed policeman in front of the bus, avoiding the main road through Bombolulu, but instead taking the road through Nyali.
